‘Oh no.’
Lana looked intensely at him and could not move for any bit, she realised what had been done. The woman was not sure what to do next and reflexively she covered her mouth. The grip around her dress tightened as she looked around haphazardly after getting the gist of the situation. Her survival instinct kicked in and Lana began to look for the way out immediately even though she knew it.

‘No, no. I have to run.’
Without thinking any further Lana ran for her life and did not look back. The woman took bigger steps towards the exit of the dining hall with a pounding heart. It was the moment when she heard a loud growl of the alpha in anger. She knew what it meant but had no courage to deal with it, thus she ran out of the hall as the heavy door closed with a thud.

As soon as she was out of the hall Sahan wiped off his face with his hand as his sharp gaze glared at the door. Nobody had ever dared to talk back to him let alone spit over his face which was a punishable offence.
“This woman!”
He gritted and looked at his hand, Sahan reached for the napkins over the table and wiped off his hand.

The man took a few steps when Sahan heard a voice in his head which made the alpha halt in his place. Sahan knew what that voice was and from where did it come, he had heard it twice before too. It was his wolf and the alpha was not mistaken to hear his wolf's voice because the previous two times it appeared was whenever he did something with Lana.

"You hurt our mate. She is angry with you now."
His wolf spoke in a disappointed tone like an old experienced person. The sudden pop up and the subtle rebuking angered Sahan even more. The alpha did not bother his wolf at that moment because there was another matter to deal with first.

"Go and apologise. Or we might lose her."
The unsolicited advice made Sahan growl at his own wolf as he raked through his hair and inhaled deeply. But that was not enough to satisfy his anger. Something needed to be done for that. Sahan snapped open his eyes and slammed on the table hard.

"Shut up!"
Sahan yelled at his wolf who seemed to be determined in teasing him. The alpha threw everything which was in front of him on the table on the floor. All it took was one swipe across the table and every item was shattered on the floor. His wolf groaned over the alpha’s actions who in turn was extremely annoyed.

"How dare you come up now with your unsolicited advice? Where were you up till now, huh?"
The alpha mocked his wolf as he continued to rake through his hair. After a long silence his wolf spoke again with the same spicy taunt.
"Since you want me to shut up I can go back and never come again. As usual you still have temper issues."

Sahan was taken aback by the response and it hit him like a lightning bolt. Did his wolf just confess that he was silent all this time because Sahan had anger issues?
"What do you mean by that?"
The alpha could not help but question him once again to confirm his hunch. He waited for a moment for any kind of reply but a complete grim silence was there.

“This insolent beast!”
The alpha was agitated by the response of his wolf and it made him enraged even more. Two things have already joined together to make him vent his anger over Lana. The poor girl had no clue that she had driven an animal mad and now the wolf was on hunt for her. Sahan stormed out of the hall and had only thing in his mind that he needed to teach her a lesson.

However, just as he was about to exit the hall his beta appeared in the form of smoke. Since he was a hybrid and could transform himself into whatever he wished to. Sahan came into the room from the huge circular shaped ventilation which was opened during the day time. His silhouette condensed and took form while his glaring ruby coloured eyes shone brighter. Curtis informed something to his master which drove the alpha mad and he hurriedly dashed out of the dining hall.

On the other hand outside the hall in the same arcade, Lana ran for her life acknowledging that her impulsive act had already put her into a perilous situation. She had no way to go now because escaping Belle Morte also meant death either way. Just a delayed one. Thus, the woman went into self realisation mode while trying her best to come up with a decent apology or a reason for the alpha to not kill her.

Her dignified footsteps ran for her precious life while her heart pounded in her ears. Lana had already lifted her gown from the ground till her calf so she could take bigger steps away from the alpha. From her death. Well, of course that was only for a while. During her sprints she occasionally looked back at the empty arcade and even the slightest shadow of birds scared her which flew near the huge windows.

‘What…..?’
She was in her own reverie when a crow bigger than the usual size with crimson orbs flew near the window. It appeared as if the bird had been eyeing Lana as she ran in the corridor towards her bed chambers. The unusual sight of a bird with such weird antics made her realise something was definitely going on in Belle Morte. But what?

It was expected that the werewolves did not have the ability to transform into birds. That trait was only found in the vampires, but then again what were the vampires doing in kingdom Selene?
