Rejected mate

[Lana’s pov]
I coughed while laying in the bed, the constant coughing was making my whole body hurt. “Don’t worry, hold on. Our mate will understand our importance soon.” I heard my wolf yesterday for the first time and she revealed to me that alpha Sahan was my mate. The same man to whom I was sold, who ridiculed me was my mate. How cruel.
My wolf was trying to help me heal quickly, but since we hadn't shifted like other normal wolves, my healing is not as good as other wolves. After the maids were gone leaving me alone in the room when my fever had gone down. I remembered getting up to my feet with so much difficulty, but the guards kicked my legs, and I fell back down.
One even put his foot over my neck, and I closed my eyes, waiting for my death. However, it was the moment I heard my wolf and white hair began to appear on my arms and neck. The guard rushed to call the alpha, when alpha Sahan came in I could see shock and remorse in his eyes. But he did nothing to save me at that moment.
"What you have to do is let me inside your mind, heart and soul Lana, and I can take you out of your painful misery." She says. My heart was beating so fast, and my wolf was growling even though she couldn’t fight back in this situation. Maddie, my wolf, has a strong fighting spirit and has given it to me, but I knew when to quit and accept my fate but she doesn't let me do it.
My wolf, Maddie, resurfaced yesterday, and, using her strength, I kicked that guard in his nuts and he fell on the ground. Anger coursed through me as if I would kill that guard for sure. I felt the adrenaline pumping through me, and I hovered over him, punching him in the face repeatedly. Soon, the men that were training surrounded us. Other prisoners were cheering while others were watching silently.
A tingling sensation rushed down my skin as I felt myself being lifted off his body by huge strong hands, but my wolf was not done with him yet, so I kicked once more and screamed. "Let me fucking go! You cannot keep me here, you bastards." I screamed at whoever was carrying me away from there. I was thrown off the shoulder of the man who carried me and was ready to punch him in the face. What stopped me was alpha Sahan’s presence.
He looked so sexy in his basketball shorts, his hair was dishevelled, and the way he was glaring at me was dangerous. I could see his muscular body, and swallowed thickly. Seeing that I'm staring, he shouted at me, and I flinched with fright involuntarily, looking away from him. "Do you want to get in trouble that fast?" He spoke in an angry voice.
"But your wife attacked me first and you still want to punish me blindly!" I retorted, more like I shouted. I did not care that my words could make him snap my neck easily. I was sure that he could also feel the mate bond between us and hoped that he would not hurt me. How wrong I was!
"You'll be punished for what you did. Even after you knew who she is." He growled, pushing me against the wall. I winced at the pain in my back. He wrapped his hand around my neck and choked me. "She is your fucking Luna," he gritted loudly. “‘How dare you hurt my wife!?” I tried to hit him, but he wouldn't let go, it was like I was hitting a wall. He finally released me, and I fell to the ground, inhaling as much air as I could while coughing.

While alpha Sahan crouched down next to me and looked at me with a softness I've never seen before while I glared at him. His eyes were a shade darker, and I knew I was done for. He cleared his throat and ordered. "You will be locked in the dungeon for the coming days, until you behave." I widened my eyes in horror.
"But she started it!" I yelled, I've been locked in smaller and darker rooms before a few times, and It was not a place I like to be. It's dark and scary, and the guards there were the most immoral while they beat the offenders. They sexually assault women, beat and exploit them. It has happened to me a few times but thankfully I was never raped.
He stood up to leave but turned to look at me. "Before I forget, I Alpha Sahan, reject you, Lana, as my mate and future Luna." I was in shock that he could sense our bond, and his words kept repeating in my head. I didn't say anything or even react. Alpha Sahan was standing over me with no emotions on his face, no remorse whatsoever. "Guards!"
"Lock her up, whip her every day until I say no more.” The alpha’s voice was smooth as he ordered, but my eyes were fixed on my mate’s eyes. A sting on my cheek brought me back to the present, and I touched the warm blood. Suddenly, tears fell, and I didn't have the chance to wipe them. Strong huge hands grabbed my arms and dragged me a few feet away from him.
Once again in the dark dungeon, they threw me to the ground like a sack of potatoes, and they exited the room. I felt it, my chest constricted, and a fire within me burned terribly. I let out a sob for the first time in forever. I cry for the horrible life I've lived since I had gained consciousness, for my parents, their death, my pack, and lastly, for Alpha Sahan, my mate.
I thought when I found my mate, he would love and protect me as a mate should, but today, he had taken away all my will to fight. My wolf withdraws to the dark part of my mind and I howl, feeling more alone than ever. Hours passed by fast, and each hour, the guards came to wipe me with very painful lashes. My back had cuts and tears of flesh on it.
Maddie, my wolf was also depressed and sad like me. I got up from the cold floor and clutched my chest as I said the words. "I, Lana, accept your rejection, Alpha Sahan." Even after that I could not feel the bond breaking on my side. However, after my rejection alpha Sahan will feel the bond between us breaking and will experience the same pain as me.
