35- Talk of War PT:1

A meeting was called, a much-needed meeting. Eli sat behind his desk and waited for everyone to get there. He was nervous, hell you could even say he was scared, and Mila could sense it. Worried about her mate, she got up out of her seat across from him and went to sit on his lap. The scent of her was supposed to calm him down, but it didn’t. Instead it filled him with even more fear.

Sighing Mila stroked his cheek causing him to look at her. “What’s wrong Eli, and don’t you dare say nothing because I can feel the fear filling you.”

Eli just sighed and buried his face in the crook of her neck, taking in her scent. “This couldn’t come at a worst of time.” Was all he said as he buried his face deeper. “I’m so, so, scared Mila. Scared that something might happen to you, something might happen to our babies.” He said placing a hand on her belly.

“Eli”

“If anything happens to you or our children, you don’t know how much that would destroy me Mila, I need you in my life, I need you to survive every day. I’m just so scared.”

Mila could feel the fear through the bond as if it was her own and that worried her. She knew this was dangerous, but she also knew that they had to fight for the future to be a safe one for their babies. So they wouldn’t have to worry about things like The Purifiers or Angels hunting them down and killing them.

She lifted his face so that she could look into his eyes and the fear inside of them broke her heart as she kissed him gently. “Eli, I know your scared, I am to, but this has to be done so that our children can have a safe future. Ok?” She asked him and he gave a small nod. “Plus, I’m not as weak and delicate as you think I am I got some fire to me that you haven’t seen before.” She said winking at him, and he laughed.

“I love you Mila,” He said his words laced with nothing but love and affection for the woman in front of him.

“And I love you too.” She returned. They were about to share a kiss, but was interrupted when Lucifer, Lilith and Cain came through the door.

“Oh, sorry are we interrupting something?” Lilith asked with a smirk on her face. She knew she was, she just liked to tease her daughter.

“No mother,” Mila responded laying her head on Eli’s “We were just waiting on everyone to come.”

Everyone started small conversations with each other until Nuala and Michael came, followed by Ezzie and Declan.

“Now that everyone is here,” Eli started and everyone quiet down. “I would like to start the meeting. As you all know there has been an attack on Alpha Townsends pact, but something seems off.” Eli stated.

“What’s so off about an attack on a pact, I mean that is what the Purifiers do they just attack.” Cain spoke up.

“Well that’s just the thing,” Mila said speaking up she turned on Eli’s lap to face everyone. “Alpha Townsends pact is one of the largest that we have in the Empire, so you would think that taking out a large pact would be the ideal thing to you know lessen the load for more attacks.”

Everyone in the room nodded.

“But the damage that they did was minimum, just burned down a few store houses and set some trees on fire.” Mila said and everyone gave a confused look. “I know weird right?”

“That doesn’t make any sense,” Lucifer spoke up “Why wouldn’t they just attack when they clearly had a good chance to do so?”

“That’s not the weirdest part,” Eli said sitting back “The Purifiers snuck in around 7pm, on the West side of the pact.”

“Why is that so weird?” Lucifer questioned.

“Well for one around 7pm on the west side, the sun will be setting so it will still be light out, And two at exactly 7pm on the west side is when a break in the barrier forms, it’s only on that side for only five minutes or so.” The room was quiet as they finished waiting for Eli to explain his point. “The only people that knew about this barrier break was Alpha Townsend himself, his beta, Me, Dianna who was the Luna Queen at the time and the Elders, which could only mean-”

“Someone was a tattle tell.” Ezzie said as she pouted, she was sitting on Declan’s lap as he wrapped his arms around her waist tightly, pulling her to him.

“Exactly,” Eli nodded.

“Do you have any Idea who it might be?” Nuala asked and Eli frowned he thought about it but he couldn’t really come up with anyone.

“I vote Dianna.” Mila said raising her hand, and Eli gave her a questioning look.

“Dianna, I don’t think she would d- ”

“Oh give me a break Eli, “Mila said cutting him off. “The day before the attack she just so happens to come back at like three in the morning, then the day of she’s just missing in action? You can’t tell me that’s just a coincidence.”

“But why would she do some thing like put the whole Empire in danger, these are her people?” he said.

“Jealousy,” Mila said simply, and Eli gave her a questioning look, she just sighed “You were her mate, now I’m your mate, she was Luna Queen, now I’m Luna Queen and well this,” She said pointing to her stomach.

“Mila could be on to something Eli,” Michael said “Jealousy can be a very strong and powerful emotion that can make you do crazy and hurtful things. I once seen a mother kill her husband of 25 years, because she was jealous that the children liked him more than her.”

“Oh Annie right?” Lucifer asked Michael.

“Yeah.”

“She’s a lovely woman, she’s head chef at my mansion, you should stop by sometimes.” Lucifer offered.

“Yeah Right,” Michael laughed “I highly doubt she would want to see me after I kicked her to hell.”

“You have a point there.” Lucifer laughed as well.

“Well, all we’re saying is that Mila maybe on to something, I think you better keep an eye on her.” Nuala said. Eli thought for a moment and then gave a sharp nod.

“Alright, I’ll have someone watch her every move.” With that he mind linked, Kal one of his top spy’s to keep a close eye on Dianna.

“Now that that’s out of the way, lets really start the meeting.”

It took three hours as they talked about weapons and soldiers. Attack and defense strategies. Some things they didn’t agree on somethings they did. And in the end, they came up with the perfect plan for the perfect army.

I would like to announce that I called an emergency Council meeting at 8 and I would like for Nuala and Michael to come as well as Declan and Ezmerelda. This matter involves all of us and I believe with a heavy heart the you guys deserve to be there.” They all agreed.

“Always be prepared, and always have your men be ready, we don’t know when they’re going to attack but when they do we want to be ready.” Eli finished and everyone nodded said their good byes and left.

Eli sighed when they all left and Mila kissed him all over his face. He looked at her and smiled. “Now time for the next meeting.” He said and they both laughed, got up and went to the meeting room.
