Book 2: 22- The Archangel Chamuel

ARCHANGEL CHAMUEL POV:

The taste of defeat was terrible.

The Good was always supposed to win, wasn’t it? It’s been a few years, however the defeat still struck us hard. We hoped that we could get Michael back that day. But instead, we lost one of our top angels, Gabriel. You can say God was not happy about that. The Purifiers also took a huge lost after the death of their leader Joseph, from then everything just went downhill. With Gabriel and Joseph out of the picture, it was truly a terrible defeat.

Now years later, we are still facing that defeat. It's terrible that we have to watch a once-great archangel Gabriel serve those demons. We had to save him, but not only him but Michael as well. It was too late for Samael but I wish that we could save him. He was once a very great archangel.

I stood at the golden gates of heaven and just stared at it. The golden gates seemed to shine in the never-ending sunlight. God has been on edge ever since our defeat. Now we were training extra hard, I could understand why. God just didn’t want another casualty like the one we had last time. We couldn’t lose another Archangel.

I was about to open the gates when archangels Azrael, Raphael flew down beside me. They both looked exhausted, I bet they were.

"Azrael, Raphael." I said with a nod. "Had a long day?"

"Yeah," Azrael was the first to respond. "The families of the ones that were lost during the war are still grieving, I'm just happy Raphael was there to help take some of the load off." He said as he brushed his long golden hair out of his pale face. His eyes brown eyes looked tired. It must be hard to be the archangel of Death.

"Yeah, yeah." Raphael said as he sighed. He was a little rough around the edges even though he was the archangel of healing. But he had his reasons. Out of everyone he felt most betrayed by Michael, they always worked side by side. So when Michael left heaven for love, it struck Raphael hard, he didn't understand Michael's decisions none of us did. But then again none of us experienced the things he did. Sometimes I wondered if it was one of the other Archangels, would they have fallen pray to that woman and her charms.

After Michael left Raphael cut his long black hair, until it only reached the top of his ears and kept it that way. Now a days it seemed as if his bright blue eyes had darken and it was as if he was always glaring at someone. But he did his job.

"Were you waiting for us Chamuel?" Azrael asked me.

"Yeah, I knew you guys would be done soon." I said giving him a small smirk. I really wasn't but I guess that would be better then explaining why I didn't want to go in. I was tired and I knew that as soon as I went in we would be training for the next war. I could understand where God was coming from. I really could. However, being an archangel of peaceful relationships.

I would rather we try to work things out, forget the wars. No more deaths, just peace. But I knew that it was just wishful thinking. It maybe strange saying, but God hated everyone he didn't create. The wolves, shifters, witches and demons all believe in different things and because of that God can't stand these creations. I on the other hand would like to learn more about them, I'm very curious but I know I can't go anywhere near them.

Sighing, the three of us walked through the golden gates. I already knew what to expect, hours upon hours of training for the next battle that we had no Idea when was coming. Immediately we came face to face with angels dressed gold and white armor sparing off with each other. I couldn't guess how long they've been at this for.

We walked more in a glow of light, and then HE appeared in front of us. The long white of his hair mixed in his long white beard. His eyes glowed a bright brown on his fair skin. Automatically the three of us dropped to one knee.

"Rise my children." He said his voice was deep a vibrated throughout my body. "I hope that you all are training well."

"Of course Father, that's where we were going now." Raphael said his voice as strong as ever.

"Good, Good," Our father nodded. "Theres a war coming, and its going to e worst then the last. We have to prepare for it."

"Do you know When it will happen father?" Azrael asked but father shook his head.

"I'm afraid I don't. But no matter what we have to be prepared for it." Our father said and we all just nodded. "By the way does anyone know where Ariel is?"

"Yes, she's taking care of the humans, making sure they have enough food to eat and what not." I told my father. He gave me a strong look as if he was looking deep into me. Trying uncover a secret, but I held his gaze.

"Very well." With that he disappeared. Azrael and Raphael told me they was going to train I just nodded. When they were going, I couldn't help the pounding in my chest. I can't believe I just lied to my father.

I knew where Ariel was, yes she was on earth. But where she was and what she doing I had no idea.
