Chapter 17: Luna or what?

Bellatrix:

Was I insane? Definitely. Did I care? Weirdly, I didn't, but then I was starting to be more carefree about stuffs since I stepped into Howls which to others might not be bad, but to me it simply meant I was starting to loose my touch.

"Hey, human friend!!" The door to the room burst open revealing a squealing Leila. Alec had left a while ago so I was the only one left here.

"Hey Lee." I smiled at her as she bounced down on the bed.

"You know, there are some silent news going round Howls at the very moment." She said with a wide grin on her face.

It was funny and surprising how indifferent Leila was acting towards me even when she knew i was keeping something from them all.

"And does this news concern me?" I asked.

"Well, ya know..." She paused.

"Leila what is it?"

"Everyone keeps saying Alpha Alec has found his second chance mate and would soon introduce her to the pack.. The second chance mate I know of but as for introducing for introducing her to the pack — does that mean you've agreed to be our Luna?"

I chuckled at the puppy eyes she was giving me and nodded my head in affirmation. "I was going to have to accept anyway so I guess I did earlier than expected.."

"Yes! Yes! Yes!" She squealed as she jumped and started making some weird dancing moves, I could only laugh at her silliness.

"I'm wondering why you are sounding so happy even than Alec himself."

"I know right?" She stopped her dancing and sat down back. "He hasn't been himself since Julie's death, been beating himself up saying it was his fault, but with you around I know things would surely change, he has even gotten better over the past few weeks."

"You make it sound like I am some kind of savior or something."

"You really don't understand do you?"

"You know I am hiding stuffs and you still want me for your brother, I mean I could be a serial killer or something." I was surprised if I was to be honest at her nonchalant attitude to me, because the last time we had seen she has heard stuffs from my sister.

"Your secrets can't be that bad, human friend."

I sighed inwardly, if only she knew.

"See, why don't we forget about this and move on, I mean you are kind of like my sister now right? It would get official after the mating ceremony though, not like I do care" She said.

"The mating ceremony? What's that?" I do know a lot about Lycans but certainly not this.

Leila's green orbs suddenly started twinkling in excitement at my question. "Oh dear, I really love this part... Ya know, the mating ceremony is like what you humans call wedding, but then again it is on a whole different level."

"Oh..." I muttered.

"OK here is the thing, how about we go on a drive while I explain it better to you. What do you say?" Leila says winking at me.

Suddenly I felt his presence, he was here.

"And get her drunk again? Certainly not!" How I knew he was here even before he spoke was becoming so familiar to me, but the sudden skip of my heartbeat at the sound of his voice was what I didn't want to understand.

"Alec!" Leila exclaimed, standing abruptly at his appearance. Weren't Lycans supposed to have advanced hearing abilities? Then why didn't she hear him enter.

"It is good to see you again Lee." Alec stated with a fake smile plastered on his face. He had already cleaned up and rid himself of the blood and dirt on his body.

"You should stop sneaking up on people with that stupid super power of yours."

I wrinkled my brows at Leila's words. "Super powers?"

"Oops! Did you hear that?, I guess you would have to tell her now, brother?"

"Leila! Get the hell out of my room!" Alec snapped.

"Sorry. Bye human friend." She grinned at me and skipped out of the room. Alec turned to me as he tried to calm down his temper.

I smirked. "So you have a secret too?"

"Everyone tends to have a secret Bella. You are one to talk though.." He was back to his signature cold and emotionless tone, even his eyes were blank and void of any feeling. It made me feel so annoyed, had I not accepted to be his Luna just a while ago?

Bipolar asshole.

"It's getting late, I will have some omegas bring I your food for you, what would you like to eat?" I clench my fists tightly at his nonchalant attitude, i was fast loosing my temper already.

"So this is it?" Right, i had to talk.. I just had to talk or I would literally burst out.

"What?" Alec narrowed his eyes at me. In confusion?

"Don't fucking play dumb with me Alec! You know what the fuck I am talking about."

He rolls his eyes, folding his arms and still giving me that icy stare of his. "Well, I don't!"

I scoffed, running my hands through my hair in utter frustration. Did he really not know? Or was he pretending? Deciding to let it go, I shook my head. "Well that's okay, and I am not hungry either."

"Bella..."

I do not answer him, instead I lay back down on the bed and shut my eyes. "I will be back."He finally says and walks out.

The day passes by in a blur. Alec didn't come back soon like he had said, he hasn't even come back at all. As for me, I had stayed in since he left, and even when the omegas came to drop my food I didn't open the door.

Feeling hungry now, I decided to go downstairs in search of something to eat. The building was silent as I walked down the stairs, it seemed like there was no one around. Do they not spend their night here? Frankly though, I still couldn't quite get what the pack house was really for when most of them had their houses in town.

"You are awake?" I almost slipped down the stairs at Hera's voice. Why had I not sensed her coming?

I walked down the stairs to meet her. "I didn't sleep" I replied in answer to her question.

"Ha.." She smiled at me and started walking towards the left side of the room, giving way to another room which definitely was a kitchen, I noticed as we got in.

I sat down on the chair by the counter while Hera walked over to the refrigerator.

"Here, have some of this, I know you haven't eaten anything since morning." She said pushing a plate of cereal to me.

I muttered a thank you and wolfed down the cereal hungrily. I heaved in a satisfied sigh after I finished eating. Hera chuckled beside me.

"You were this hungry eh."

I tried not to roll my eyes, instead I nodded. For some reason that I didn't know, I noticed I was a lot more polite to this Lycans than I would have wanted to be after I found out I was Fae.

"You know my true identity don't you? That I am the lost princess of the Fae Kingdom?" I suddenly asked Hera.

"You will be surprised I know more than that Fallon."

"You knew my parents then?"

"Your mortal guardians?" She paused, sighed and then looked away. "That's a story for another day, Fallon."

It didn't escape me, that Hera knew my parents or rather my mortal guardians like Vassily had called them and yet didn't want to tell me so, that alone was starting to mystify this whole situation. Apart from being a Fae princess, what exactly was I?
