Chapter 19: Logan

Alec:

"How was she?"

Ryan scoffed at my question as he sat down. "If you were so concerned, shouldn't you have come down to see her yourself?"

"I told you I was busy Ryan, just leave it at that!" I snapped back a reply.

"I know right, busy enough to keep avoiding her since she agreed to be your Luna. She was pretty downcast when she realized you weren't going to come "

"I asked you how she coped, not to fucking lecture me, Beta!"

"She coped really well enough for an untrained human, she even knows how to handle a gun, shooting straight right to her target if I might add."

Confused, I asked; "You think she is trained?"

"I do not think Alpha, I know."

I press my lips tightly together, rubbing my forehead with a worried sigh. "And you still haven't found out more information apart from the first time?"

Ryan shook his head in negation. "Not really, though I did find something, I'm not really sure how it would help." He pushed an envelope to me.

I opened it and brought out what was in it, it was a picture of Bella and a man clad in black at a café. "This was taken a week before she came here." Ryan said, probably sensing my confusion.

"How did you get this picture?"

"That's the problem, it was at my doorstep this morning, and I got this message right after." He handed his phone to me.

I stood up after reading the message, a kind of fear suddenly rippling through me. If Ryan had found this at his doorstep even when we were the only one aware of this, then that only meant one thing... Someone else was looking into Bella which wasn't a good sign at all especially since this person also knew we were looking into her too.

I exhaled, running my hands through my hair. "Find whoever sent this, wherever you can Ryan. Find this person!"

I closed my eyes trying to calm myself even though that was certainly a lost cause, I then grabbed the envelope from the table and walked out of my office with Ryan following closely behind me.

"Where did you say she went?" The little Omega girl whom I had assigned to Bella was cowering in fear as she stared at me, her lips quivering.

"After I left her at the training ground, I swear I haven't seen her since then."

This isn't good, where the hell could she have gone to? "Calm down big bad Alpha, your mate went to visit her sister at the college. It is a wonder how she managed to slip away despite your heavy guarding."

That voice. Only one person could speak to me in that manner. I completely forgot his sentence was cleared yesterday, I turned to my brother with a smirk. "I see you are back, Logan. How was your stay at the Alpha King's dungeon?"

Logan smirked back at me, his ever present hateful glare plastered to his face. "What can I say? It was worth the wait, don't you think brother?"

Once I had loved that title, but now I loathed it, there was no other word for it. I patted his back, "You should go settle down brother, eat some good food too. I am sure having your wolf locked up for a year isn't a very good thing."

"No it isn't. It certainly isn't." He replied, a dark look suddenly clouding his facial expression. I knew that look so well, my father had it too.

"I will see you later, I have important things to take care of."

"I am looking forward to it, brother."

I walked hurriedly out of the pack house, ignoring the numerous greetings coming my way from the pack members around. Logan knew about Bella, was he the one who had dropped the picture at Ryan's doorstep? That didn't make any sense, he had just been cleared of his charges yesterday or was there something I had missed?

I went into the garage where some omegas were cleaning and servicing the weapons. "Alpha!" One of them whom I knew as Luke gasped as he sighted me making the rest of them curtsey immediately.

"It's okay, go on with your works, as for you Luke." He raised his head to look at me, probably surprised I knew his name. It was an habit I picked up because I didn't want to be like my father. My father had treated the omegas like slaves without names, but to me I had thought, even though they were the lowest in Lycanthropes ranking, they still deserved some respect.

I gave Luke a small smile. "Get me one of the power bikes."

"Yes Alpha!" He replied immediately.

It doesn't take long and soon I'm on my way to oaks college. Normally, as a Lycan I should get there even faster than a power bike, but being considerate of the humans around us, our pack is careful with our speed limit which is why I resulted to the Hayley.

"Alpha Knight! To what do I owe this special visit?" The vice chancellor Edward Stevens asks, his face beaming brightly.. With his obvious greed if I might add. He was my Father's best friend while he lived and both of them had been so greedy and selfish that they had slurped off the funds from the school singlehandedly, not even leaving a tiny bit to fend for the pack.

Making a mental note to find a suitable replacement immediately all this is sorted out. I smirk at him, "That depends on how you handle what I have for you, don't you think Edward?"

"Of course Alpha, of course. How may I help you then?"

"Karen Lana Fallon, I want to see her now."

Edward looked surprised, he seemed about to speak, but seeing my cold unwavering gaze on him, he immediately put a call through to his secretary. "Bring in Karen Fallon immediately"

"Actually Edward, I meant for you to take me to her. You can do that right?"

He nods as he slowly drops the phone. "Of course, Alpha."
