Chapter 25: L'agaib
Bellatrix:
"It is always the same little one.. feel your magic. Michal says to me, whispering the last part. I sigh and shut my eyes, the words ringing in my ear.. "Feel your magic."
Easily, my hands stretched forward to the gate and there is that feeling, like I have done this before and with that I am transported to when.
#####
"Princess Bella..." Someone is calling me. Vassily my trainer stands a few feet away from me as he tries to teach me to how to break an enchantment.
"Vassily, do I really have to do this? I just want to go play with Trik" Seven year old me murmured begrudgingly.
"I know that, but you have to learn this first.. Trik is also busy with his trainings and you know His Majesty won't want you joking with yours."
I sigh, my lips pout and I fold my arms in defiance. "Okay then, how about we make a deal princess.."
My eyes shine brightly at that, I love making deals. "What is the deal?"
"You have to learn to break this enchantment and I will let you skip all your training sessions from now till next week, how about that?"
My face which had shined brightly a while ago radiated more. I did not like my training sessions, so if I get to skip some of them, how good would that be. I stretch my tiny hands to Vassily. "Deal" I say like I had heard the elder people say when the make deals. Vassily smiles down at me and holds my hands in his. "Deal" he replies.
"Now first things first.. You have to be able to regulate your magic" Vassily starts to say. "And regulating your magic means being able to hold on to it as long as you can. The blood enchantment is a tricky one, and only the royals have the right magic to break one"
I raise my brow at him. "But you are not Royal?"
"No I am not, but I have been given access to that magic as a royal trainer"
I nod in understanding, then he continues, "Now you need just the right amount of magic to break this enchantment. Can you do that, little one?"
I can.. Papa says as long as I can put my mind to it, then I can do it, so I stretch my hands toward the side of the field where Vassily had laid the enchantment and with my eyes closed, I start to chanel my magic towards it.
It is wearisome at first and I stagger on my feet a couple of times, but as soon as I get the hang of it, a large smile creep to my face. I change my stance and chanel again, suddenly I hear a loud blast.
####
"Bella!! Bella!!" I slowly open my eyes to see Alec hovering over me with worried eyes. "Are you okay?" he asks, cupping my face in his palms. I gulp at his closeness, instantly pushing his palms off my face. I do not wait to see his reaction, instead I walk slash run towards Michal who is standing a few feet away from us, directly in front of the gate.
"I broke the enchantment, didn't I?" Michal smile and nods towards the gate which I see is already open by now. I beam proudly at that, Mother and Father would definitely be proud of me. I wish they were here now.
After this, Michal starts to lead us into the city.. The city of the light Fae which at a point that I could remember was called L'agaib, it is still the same I notice as I look around. The Fae city is just like a time forgotten world.. I see the indigenes both male and female riding horses and whatnot but not a single automobile is seen in sight. like I had said earlier, a time forgotten world but even still they are just as beautiful and cheerful as I can remember. It is definitely different from the mortal realm
I sigh, remembering how Precia had always sat me down to learn of the ways of our Kingdom. She told me stories and histories apart from the ones Mama had filled mine and Trik's head with.
"It is still the same name you know, if you still remember the name." Michal comments as if listening to my thoughts.
"L'agaib" Alec says, beating me to it.
"You know a lot kid.. who exactly are you?" Asks Michal, Alec shrugs and starts to reply but then the cry of the indigenes is what cuts him off. They are all screaming a certain name as we walk past, it takes a while for me to finally hear what they are saying. "Leannan 'al gaib"
"Leannan 'al gaib" I mutter. "Doesn't that mean the chosen one?" I faintly remember Mama telling me about the Leannan 'al gaib, the chosen one who would bring back the two Fae races together, even Precia never kept quiet about the so-called prophecy about the chosen one that had been for over decades.
"You are right little one, that is what it means"
"And who would that be? 'cos it seems like it definitely one of us here" says Alec.
"Well, that is a story for another day." Michal replies, certainly not helping my curiosity. Eventually, we get to the front of the royal castle. Like it has always been, it sits right at the center of the kingdom, standing tall and massive and of course its stone walls shining brightly as the sun reflects on it and its magnificence fading every other beautiful building I have seen into dust. A stone bridge connects the walls to the the main street. Men in black tunics stands guard at either side of the bridge down to the entrance of the castle.
"Welcome to the L'agaib courts, kids" Michal smiles at us and gestures to one of the guards to take us in. "Get some rest for you have journeyed far.." he adds and with a flick of his fingers, he vanishes.
"I am Carson by name Your Highness" The guard says, "Please come with me"
Alec grabs an hold of my hands as we follow Carson inside and there is only one thought running through my head, 'My life is definitely taking a drastic turn"
