Chapter 18: Luna
"Bella, there is one thing you should know about being a Fae princess"
The little girl looked up at her father with bright eyes shining with curiosity. "What is it papa?"
"No matter what situation you are in baby girl, always remember that the indigenes comes first."
Little Bella was confused at her Father's words. "But Papa, isn't family supposed to come first?" She asked.
"Yes dear, only that the indigenes are your first family so no matter what happens, you think of them first, okay?"
Bella couldn't but think that the principle was absurd, she couldn't even think of any other family than her father, mother and Trik but since her father was always right, she nodded to his statement.
Her father smiled in approval. "Now run along dear, Precia is waiting to take you to your magic classes."
"Bye papa!"

The almost blinding rays of the morning sun seeping through the window blinds was what woke me up. I sat up, stretching my arms widely. I glanced at the other side of the bed but Alec wasn't there and neither was he anywhere around the room or... Then I heard the running of water in the bathroom.
I got down from the bed and went to the door, slowly I pushed it open.
"Good morning Luna." I yelped in shock, almost falling to the ground. I turned around to see a young girl standing with her head bowed to me.
"What the hell is it with you Lycans and sneaking up on people, fuck!" I breathed out as I held the doorknob for support, also pulling the door close in the process.
"I am sorry if I startled you Luna, but I already thought you were aware I was going to be here?"
"Why would I be aware, who the hell are you anyway?"
The girl immediately went on her knees, her lips trembling in...fright? "My name is Fleur and I was assigned by Alpha Alec to be your handmaiden. I was running your bath and forgot to put some fragrance and went out to get some. I thought the Alpha would have told you about me. Please forgive me for being so insensitive Luna"
I blinked, once..twice. "Ugh... Yeah?"
The girl, Fleur finally looked up at me, confused at my reply. "Do you accept my apology, Luna?"
I gulped, feeling uncomfortable at the girl's use of honorifics statements to me. "Yeah sure, get up.. And please stop calling me Luna, that title creeps the hell out of me and it isn't like I am officially your Luna yet." I said.
Fleur stood up, shaking her head as she did. "I am afraid I cannot do that. The Alpha has ordered us to call you Luna and nothing short of that, besides we all know you are his second chance mate and that alone is assurance that you will be our Luna sooner than later." She replied.
I scoffed as she handed me a robe. I pulled off my cloth and shrugged on the robe, making my way to the bathroom. "Luna it is then" I muttered and then added.. "Where is he anyway?"
"You mean Alpha Alec? He is waiting for you at the training ground."
"The training ground? What's that?" I pushed the bathroom door open with Fleur rushing in behind to quickly put off the running water. So this was what I was hearing thinking Alec was in here? Stupid me.
"It is where the pack warriors are being trained, sometimes the Alpha takes part in the training although has been trained by a specialist since he was young." Fleur answered a reply to my question.
Of course he had, after all my father was his trainer. I closed my eyes as I sank into the bathtub, the warm water cascading my skin. I needed not to think of them yet, not now. I needed to focus on being Alec's Luna, a title I had accepted without thinking and most of all, I needed to find myself, and I could literally feel it that me becoming the Luna of winter pack was a stepping stone to that. How though, was what I didn't know.
After I had taken my bath and got out of the bathroom, there was already a laid out cloth for me on the bed. It was a black leather trouser coupled with a yellow crop top, even though this was certainly my style, I still raised my lashes to Fleur and asked. "Wait, is this how a Luna dresses?"
"This how Alpha Alec desires you dress." I scoffed for the second time today at Alec's pathetic commands regarding me to his subjects.
I really wanted to wear something different just to irk him, but I knew this little omega girl would be the one in trouble so I let it go and put it on. "Now shall we go to meet my mate?" I said to Fleur after packing my red hair into a messy bun.
She grinned at me shyly. "You look beautiful Luna and of course we can go see Alpha"

Fleur walked me out of the room and down the stairs, but instead of going through the front door which I already knew, we started to walk down a passage way on the opposite side of the living room or playroom or whatever.
We have walked for a few minutes when we finally step out a door that leads to a grassy clearing. "Here is the training ground." Fleur said.
"Is it? 'Cos I am not seeing any warriors training."
"I think their training session for the day is over" she replied.
"Oh..."
"I will take it from here Ms Kora, you may leave." A familiar voice spoke from behind us.
Fleur immediately turns and bows her head. "Beta Ryan." I did notice his voice was familiar, I remember him from the first time I had stayed at Alec's place.
"Morning Luna, I am Ryan, Alpha Alec's Beta and I will be your temporary trainer till the Alpha can get you a new one after the mating ceremony." Ryan said with a smile after Fleur had left.
I smiled back at him, a fake smile to be precise and asked; "Why isn't he here?"
"He has important stuffs to do and had to —"
I didn't let him finish speaking, instead I raised a hand to shut him up. "Let's move on with the training shall we?"
Thirty minutes later, Ryan is breathing heavily as he stared at me in shock, winking at him, then I grabbed his gun which I had sighted by his waist.
"What the —" He stood and in a fluid motion, grabbed the gun from my hands. He is fast, I had to give him that, even while he fought with me in the name of training, his movements were really swift.
"You wound me beta, I am not going to harm anyone with it, I am just going to shoot at some targets that's all." I pouted, tapping the bridge of my nose.
"You can handle a gun?" Ryan asked, surprise clearly evident in his voice.
I collected the gun back from and shot at the target, meeting it straight in the eye. "Still part of my charm." I said and winked at him again.
"Goddess! That was —" He stopped at loss for words.
I smirked, handing the gun back to him. "Does this mean my training session is over for the day teacher?"
"Uhm.. Yeah" He blinked.
"Cool, because now I have somewhere to be.. See ya." I waved at him as I sprinted back into the pack house. I had to see Karen.
