Chapter 24: On Astrid

Bellatrix:
If I am to explain my life right now in one word, I would say it is a fucking mess. I mean how the hell did I go from lone wolf hunter to second chance mate of a Lycan to lost princess of the Fae Kingdom? My head is swirling with different questions as I stare at Michal after he had made his statement.
"So, you want me to leave here?"
"Leave the mortal realm to be precise, but its just for a while." He answers.
My mind travels to Alec and I bite my lips as if to stop the sharp pain that zaps through my chest at the thought of him. Impulsively, my hands travels to my neck and I can still feel the mark as my fingers graze over it.
"She is going nowhere."
"Holy shit! Alec!" I literally jumped off my sitting position at his sudden appearance. "What the hell are you doing here!!"
"Well you didn't expect me to let you leave me, did you?"
"Welcome here young man... I've been expecting your arrival" Michal says to Alec as if it is a normal thing for him to suddenly appear without any warning.. and how the hell did he even do this? I do not remember him possessing a teleportation power or something.
I glance at Michal with wide eyes... "What the hell do you mean?"
"Calm down little one, everything will be explained in due time"
"Well I do not want to know what you are explaining or whatnot... all I know is my mate is going nowhere with you" Alec cuts in, pulling me closer to himself.
"How did you get in here Alec, that's what I want to know actually" I whisper yell at him.
"You do not have to know Bella... the only thing important now is that you are going nowhere wth this man"
"Well that's for me to decide." I snap, angrily yanking my hands from his hold. Although I won't lie that his presence brought a kind of joy to me, but I still won't have him acting like I am his possession or something.
"Bella?"
"You literally was like almost making me a sacrificial lamb almost a few hours ago.. now you want to lay claim on me or what?"
"You are my mate Bellatrix and it is my duty to keep you safe even if that means laying a claim on you like you call it!" Alec yells.
"Well I do not like that and you should respect the fact if you really want me to accept that I am your mate!" I yell back.
"I think that's enough kids.. shall we begin our journey now?" Michal speaks up suddenly. I had almost forgotten he has been here the whole time.
"You really don't think I'm coming with you to wherever and Bella is not either"
Michal chuckles as if he had not heard Alec speak. He does that a lot, I noticed, chuckling or grinning even at the wrong time, and now is definitely a wrong time. "Unfortunately that's not for you to decide kid"
"Will you stop addressing me as kid, old man.. I'm an Alpha for crying out loud!"
Yep! Definitely not the right time.
"Your mortal imaginations run too wild I tell you" Michal replies him. "I would really want to see how you would cope after your lost position gets restored to your kind.. anyways, I really do not have all day" And with that, Michal flicks his hands in our direction. The first thing I see is a light, so blinding.. and then we are falling... Michal sure really fancies people falling.
"Now here we are" I hear Michal say when we come to a stop. I look around and notice we are in a field of flowers, more similar to where Vassily had taken me to or rather where I had gotten a bit of my memories back.
"And where will this be?" Alec asks, also looking around taking in the unfamiliarity of the place.
"The astrid planes... The passage way to the Fae Kingdom" Michal answers Alec. "Come with me" he gestures for us to follow him.
I glance at Alec and notice that he is staring at me. I take in a large gulp just as he grabs my hands and starts to follow Michal. Did I forget to add that he does that after looking away from me?
"The Astrid planes has been around for centuries, it separates the kingdom of the white Fae from that of the Dark Faeries" Michal begins to explain.
"So there is a segregation?" Alec remarks rather rhetorically.
"Contrary to what you have heard about us.. The light fae are the faeries who have kept their magic pure... but the dark faeries has given in to tainted magic since time past, and of course there had to be a segregation which was done by the Fairy goddess herself"
"We were attacked by the dark fae, right?" I ask, because I remember faintly the alarm shout that was given on the day of the attack.
"We were, and even now till they still seek us, which is why we have an enchantment around our Kingdom.. stronger than that which we had once had"
"The blood enchantment.. Only one who is given access can enter wherever it is placed upon"
"I'm impressed kid" Michal smiles at him.
I look up at Alec in shock. "How do you know that?"
He shrugs, "The perks of living with a witch like Hera"
I scoff, there goes his arrogance. The rest of the walk deeper into the flower field is done in silence. The fields seems to keep stretching as we keep walking, one thing I notice is that the sun does not burn like it is supposed to.. it gives a not so hot and not so cold kind of radiation and even it's reflection on the flowers is certainly so beautiful. Soon I am seeing a gate not so far off. The gate has a very peculiar structure carved on it... A stoned image of....
"The fairy witch?" I say out loud, more like asking though.
"The fairy witch.. The fairy goddess, still the same" Michal answers. "While she lived on the mortal planes, she was the fairy witch and when she regained her immortal position she became the fairy goddess."
As we near the gate, I start to hear a faint sound of flute being played, the soft music seems so familiar to my ears and without thinking I start to hum along.
"The song of the sidhes."
"The sidhes? What's that?" We have now gotten to the gates and the music is now more clearer.
"The sidhes are the lesser faeries, just like the omegas in a lycanthrope pack.. They do not have much magic like the Royals and the Argogs.. their only magic is the flute.."
"They can enchant a man with their music" Alec finishes Michal's statement, and once again, I am looking up at him in shock. He looks down at me and shrugs, still giving off his arrogant streak. Stupid handsome lycan.
"You know quite a lot about us for a Lycan that you are." Michal remarks.
"I will take that as a compliment, old man." Alec retorts sarcastically.
"As you wish, kid."
"Are we going in or what? I snap, irritated at their childish banter.
Michal nods his head to my direction and then gestures with his hands for me to move forward. I raise my eyebrow confusedly. "What?"
"Here is your first training session, little one" Michal says and I do not miss the excitement in his voice as he speak as if announcing to a bunch of little kids to come take some candies. "You have to open up the enchanted gate.. on your own"
"Well that's easy..." I trudge forward and place my hand on the gate, but as soon as I do, I am thrown back by an heavy gust of wind making me land a few feet away from the gate. Alec rushes to me..
"Bella... are you okay?"
"What the hell dude! Why didn't you warn me?" I yelp rubbing my butt that had suffered the hit.
"You didn't expect to open it without your magic, did you?" Michal replies with a shrug. "I did tell you it was a training session."
I scoff as Alec helped me up. "You should be careful" He tells me.
"Whatever" I muttered. "So how do you unlock an enchanted gate"
Michal walks up to me and places his hands over my shoulder. "It is always the same little one... Feel your magic" he says, whispering the last part.
I sigh and shut my eyes.
