Chapter 48: Escape [II]

I was wrong.
I was so freaking wrong.
When Trikan had asked if I could teleport, I had wanted to prove my worth to him even when I knew Teleportation zapped at my energy, one of the reasons why I rarely slash never used it. I had no idea where we were supposed to be as I knew nothing of the dark fae grounds, but just like Filter had thought me, I had grabbed my brother's hands and teleported us to where he wanted to be.
And like I said, I was so freaking wrong, because right now I am standing in a cave filled with people, or rather, in rephrasing — a cave filled with armed warriors all waiting for Trikan's order. I was wrong because my brother didn't come to work for Starkev for selfish reasons. The reason he did was to amass followers to overthrow Starkev.
I gulp. There are about fifty of them, although they are scattered around, lounging lazily on the floor and talking, still, I know if Trikan calls an order right now, they will all come running. Tears prick my eyes. I am not alone in this after all.
"Who is she?" a female voice snaps from behind me. I freeze for a second before turning around.
The person who had spoken was a tall woman, taller than me by several inches and dressed impeccably, in a white blouse under a black jacket that has a hood, her hair braided loosely, she looks very young. Her piercing grey eyes were trained on me and a cold glare was thrown my way. She looked like someone who would snap your neck if she felt you crossed her. That didn't scare me though.
"The name's Bellatrix" I reply before Trikan does and I raise my brow at her, "Who would you be?" I ask boldly, I am curious to see what kind of reaction I will get out of this girl. I don't think she likes me, judging by the look she gives me and I can't blame her. I am the only stranger here, or so it seems.
"Back off Sasha... It's my sister" Trikan finally speaks up.
The scowl on her face deepens and she eyes me warily, "Of course, the so-called chosen. Why is she here, Trik?" she sneers "If I hear any more of your excuses I swear to god-"
"She is my Sister, Sasha! And you won't speak ill of her, okay?" Trikan interrupts her harshly. I do not miss his clenched jaw nor his clenched fists, they look dangerous.
Her gaze turns back towards me then and she huffs angrily "Fine" she says curtly "but don't expect any help when she screws everything over."
"Hold your lips, Sasha... You might be the one getting screwed over" I snap at her.
Trik sighs and turns his head back towards the rest of his, "It's time, everyone." He announces, his voice is clear and powerful and carries the power that he can control any situation easily, without batting an eyelash. "The moment we've all been waiting for! It is time to save Astrid from the claws of The Dark Fae King! And we will fight till our last breath! Fight for those who care about us!" he finishes and I take a step forward "Now let us begin! Our fight is against the most feared of evil, the Dark Fae king!" Trikan shouts and the entire group cheers.
"Fight with everything you have! Be brave, defend our home!" Trik adds and then starts to lead everyone out. He glances at me and then hands me a sword.
"You will need that" My grip tightens on the weapon and at this moment I swear on the soil of Astrid, that this would be my last fight with Starkev.
---
Do you know that saying? That one that says what you don't know won't hurt you? Right! It is a lie, a big fat lie because what you don't know will not only hurt you but kill you! Those are my thoughts as I stare through the thick bushes in which we hid – me, Sasha and Trik. The others are well hidden in other places, awaiting Trik's order.
My stomach bottoms out, because right now I am staring at a clearing, filled with hundreds of Faerie. Hundreds of faeries dressed like they were at an important banquet. The kind of party where they were allowed to wear their crowns and have their crowns taken off, and then put back on for the rest of the night. They are entering into a hall, a banquet hall precisely.
As if that isn't all, At their front stands a man handing them what might be called tickets. Starkev stands beside him too and I wish I am seeing the person beside him wrong, but I am not. Michal stands there, with him. Michal.
I clench my fists tightly, my breath stuck in my throat. "What is happening here, Trik?" I whisper, craning my neck to look at my brother behind me.
"The big event, the adjoining of the two Fae realms with Starkev as their leader. That's what he has been planning all along" Trik says, venom dripping from his voice.
I gasp, "That's not possible, he doesn't have that much power to rule over the whole of faerie"
"Well, he doesn't does not mean he can't get it. Why do you think he has your parents on a leash? And is out to take you captive too?" Sasha's voice comes up from behind my ear.
"What are you insinuating?"
"It is not an insinuation Bells, it is the truth. He sucked all our powers into an orb. Mom's, Dad's, Mine... You are the only one left. And because you are the child of the prophecy, your powers are more valuable to him" The people are reducing as they enter, from hundreds to fifties, to twenties. They are fast.
Rage. Blinding Rage. It burns me as it courses through my veins. My fist clenches once more over the sword in my hand. "He is insane" I mutter.
"That he is" I almost fall to my feet on hearing that familiar voice. My insides will are probably turning into a puddle at my feet.
"What are you doing here?!" I manage to screech out just as my brother snaps at my mate, "who the hell are you?!"
Alec's eyes twinkle as he speaks, "What else would I be doing here?" He shrugs then adds, "You do not expect me to leave you to fight that crack head alone, do you?"
"I still don't know who you are?" Trik says again.
"Alec Knight. Alpha of the Winter Pack. The only existing white Lycan" Alec grins. Of course, Only Alec will be acting so carefree when there is practically danger ahead of us.
Trik probably went to mars and came back, because his face is as pale as a ghost's after Alec does his introduction. "You are the white Lycan?"
"So they say"
"Unbelievable, The white Lycans have gone into extinction" Sasha scoffs from behind me.
"I will show you proof, but we don't have all day" He pauses, "I'm sure you need extra hands, I'm here to help." He looks at me and then smiles as he raises his fingers, he starts to count; "5, 4, 3, 2, 1... Now!"
I almost do not see the arrow that sails past our heads and over to shoot right at Michal's leg, pushing him down to his feet with a groan.
"What was that?"
Alec smiles again and says, "Your sister is really good with that shit"
