Don’t Play With Me

Reid lowered his head in grief, he knew the news would break Zac's heart into a million pieces, even though he would never show it on his grave face. It was no longer news that the only person Zac liked very much and could give up his life for was Travis. Travis had lost his parents since when he was a kid, growing up with none of his family members, he became a pickpocket in the streets. However, on this particular day, seeing a pickpocket like him running away with Zac's wallet, he caught the boy and returned Zac's wallet. Sealing his lips in a tight line, Reid recalled that was the last time he had seen Zac smile. Ever since, Zac had taken Travis in and even introduced his job to him in a matter of few days. Buzz! Buzz! The sound of Reid's phone on the central console interrupted his deep thoughts, returning to his senses, he picked up his phone. However, upon unlocking the phone, his hands began to tremble, and it felt like someone was tearing his heart apart with a saw at the awful scene exhibited on his phone screen. Swallowing very hard, Reid looked at Zac in secret, and as soon as he noticed Zac wasn't looking in his direction, just looking ahead like someone collecting his thoughts slowly. Reid quickly tossed the phone back to where he had picked it from. 'No, Zac mustn't watch such a terrible event. It would only stir the whole thing.'
“Let me see that” His voice was quite distant as if his words were floating in the air, vanishing in the wind. Panic gripped Reid as he watched his friend's horrible face, nevertheless, he said gently, “It's better you don't watch it, Zac” Frowning at Reid coldly as if he wanted to freeze him, Reid shut his eyes briefly as he reluctantly picked the phone and stretched it out to Zac. Watching how the three men dressed in a Ninja outfit stabbed Travis continuously in every part of his body, Zac's face pulled extremely long in the gloomy and cold air, looking quite horrible. It was like a hurricane was forming in his eyes. Blue veins keep popping out in his forehead while some red blood-shots gathered in the center of his pupils, glowing with blood, thirsty red. Suddenly, the huge man knocked briefly on the window, Reid soon rolled down the window and asked, “What's up, Lee?” Lee stretched forth the phone into the car and notified, “You have a call, Boss” Without being told, Zac knew who the caller was, he snatched the phone from Lee then held it up to his ear. “I hope you enjoyed that video, lad?” The caller's voice was calm yet chunky, Zac's hand suddenly balled to fist and in an arctic cold tone, he said, “You're now treading on ground that's likely to give way beneath your feet soon, Walker” Immediately, Walker's hysterical laughter transmitted into Zac's ear, “What do you mean, boy? I don't understand. Would you like to watch some related videos?” There was a subtle sense of mockery in his voice. Pausing after a long time, “What you had done had crossed my bottom line by leaps and bounds, Walker. I promise you, I will kill you with my own bare hands” Zac said ferociously through gritted teeth and disconnected the call at once.
In the Taylor's Villa…
Ava's long, thin eyelashes trembled a few times before she was able to open them, gazing at the familiar ceiling in a daze. Sighing softly, she propped herself up then slowly got on her feet. Ava didn't know how long she had been asleep, but she knew it felt like a long, never-ending dream. Sneaking a glance out the window, she noticed night was drawing near, and she never had anything since morning. Shutting her eyes and plonking herself onto the bed, Ava's stomach rumbled, and she shut her eyes tightly, recalling how she was being persuaded to eat something by Zac's housekeeper this morning. She had refused the poor woman's kindness, and now, it felt like her large intestines were absorbing her small intestines. Curling up her lips in displeasure as tears pooled into her eyes, Ava couldn't help but curse her bitter life inwardly. Gazing pensively at the ceiling as more tears rolled out from her eyes into the back of her ears, the door flung open all of a sudden, “Hey, little bitch!” Charlotte sneered relentlessly, pacing into Ava's room, step by step. Ava didn't react a bit as it seemed she had no interest in seeing the person, she just stayed quiet, allowing her tears to stream down her cheeks of their own accord. Charlotte narrowed her eyes at Ava for a moment, then smacked her lips and asked gently, “Where's my share, Ava? That's why I am here” Frowning, Ava slowly sat up, staring at Charlotte intently, “What share?” Charlotte burst into a peal of contagious laughter but stopped almost immediately, “Don't play with me, Ava. I saw you hopping into an eye-catching car last night, which only means you've got a nice catch. So what? You're just going to spend it alone without sharing?” At this moment, Ava's mouth and eyes had opened wide in disbelief as she stared at her sister in shock. “What are you saying, Charlotte?” Ava asked in incredulity, getting on her feet already. Raising her chin defiantly, “You and I both understand what I mean, Ava” Finishing her short sentence, Charlotte left where she was standing and strode to the end of the room and opened Ava's closet. Ava's brows furrowed even deeper as she sprinted to where Charlotte was standing, “What are you doing, Charlotte? This is my closet” Instead of replying, Charlotte rifled through Ava's clothes, searching for what she had not kept in there. Charlotte knew Ava very much, she knew that she would definitely have some cash in the closet. Ava wasn't the type of person who spends sumptuously. In a matter of moments, a smug smile appeared on Charlotte's face as soon as she felt her hands touch something she was looking for. During this whole ordeal, Ava's brows were tightly knitted, giving off the impression of annoyance, and the moment she saw Charlotte showing all her savings to her face, her eyes became red and seemed to fill with chilling anger. “You can't have that, Charlotte. That's my savings” Ava's voice choked with despair as she made to snatch the money from Charlotte; however, Charlotte had dodged her hand out of the way in time, her face expressing complacency. “Liar! It's not your savings but your pay from last night, you little brat” Charlotte affirmed pointedly then walked past Ava at once. Following in suit, Ava pleaded as she came to stand in front of Charlotte, ceasing her movement, “Please Charlotte, at least let's share it” Her heart constricted in pain as she let out in a trembling voice. Charlotte's lips curled up in a mocking and sarcastic smile, “It seems you want me to tell Mom, don't you?”
“That wasn't me Charlotte, you never saw me, stop lying” Ava's tone was full of grievance as she stared at the woman in front of her. She could by no means understand why Charlotte hated her so much to the length of framing her with such a lie. Throwing a final reproachful glance at Ava, Charlotte walked out the door. She thought in her mind that she shouldn't be exchanging words with Ava, as long as she had gotten what she wanted. Speechless with anger, Ava burst into a fresh wave of tears. As she cried, her shoulders trembled violently. All her savings were gone, she had planned to get a new cellphone with the money but now, Charlotte had taken away all her cash and she dared not say anything to Emma. What's the point? Ava sees no point in poking an angry dragon with a stick.
