HIS JEALOUSY

Zac’s features instantly formed into a scowl as he gradually rises back to his feet. He did not know exactly what kind of mood he was having at the moment.

“Zac, take me along with you when leaving, I would like to spend the weekend with you and Ava. I miss her so much,” Aurora expressed with a beam, reaching out her little hand and wrapping it around Zac’s huge and powerful one.

Zac looked down at this little angel and smiled gently, forgetting that he was actually mad just now.

“If that’s what you want, dear,”

Right then, the front door opened and Mia Dawson paced into the pulchritudinous living room but as soon as his eyes came in contact with Zac, she wished the floor could open and swallow the whole of her.

Busted!

“Mommy!” Aurora shrieked with elation as she scuttled to where her mother stood. “See, I’m going with Zac and I’ll be meeting my babysitter once again,”

Anger rushed up in Mia’s heart. She really hated how her daughter spoke highly of a sheer nanny or maybe because the nanny had managed to secure a place in Zac’s rigid heart.

How unfortunate. She had been endeavoring to have a place in his heart for a very long time but unluckily, it was Zac’s older sibling who had fallen in love with her.

In her eyes, Zac’s brother was not as attractive as Zac, he was still a diamond among the ordinary.

He tried to love him back because the man was so great. Although, he was a military man but he was so kindhearted and amazing.

If he and Zac were not identical, one would doubt the fact that those two were siblings because their attitude was contradicted.

A military man was engaged in recreation and always had a smiling face while a CEO had never smiled at the public before. His face was always stoic and cold.

Hot tears blurred Mia’s vision as her head presented the sweet memory of Zac’s brother and herself. He had gone AWOL since Aurora’s pregnancy was only two months old and still couldn’t be found- not even a trace of him.

Mia felt a stab in her heart, if she had known Zac would never reciprocate everything she felt for him then she would have onened her heart and loved her husband profoundly.

And now that her husband cannot be found, she too wouldn’t allow any girl Zac had chosen to be in harmony. She would make sure to trouble the life of the poor girl until she run away from Zac and never look back.

“Mind explaining to me why you lied about Aurora being ill, Mia Dawson?” Zac walked in her way in a calm yet haphazard manner. The indiscernible cruel look on his face made her brimmed with uneasiness.

The hair on the back of her rose at his tone and everyone in the room could see the tension across her shoulders, like a rubber band pulled tight.

It seemed Aurora was the only one oblivious to the atmosphere in the room. “I’ll go get ready now, mommy,” she shouted as she ran to the staircases, and the maid who had followed her down immediately set to follow her back up again.

Now, it was Zac, Mia, Blake, and the maid who had opened the door for them earlier.

“Answer me!” Zac bawled out and the whole room shook along with his voice and even the people standing there couldn’t help but retreat back in fear.

“Good lord,” Blake mumbled out.

Mia lowered her head all the time as she retreated to the door, her whole body inevitably trembling without notice.

Even though Zac had never acted nicely to her in the past, he had never raised his voice at her either.

“The next time you pulled up such a stunt again, Mia, believe me, you’ll have to bear the consequences,” his expression was overwhelmed by the ferocity and even Mia could feel the heat.

After finishing his words, he had wanted to walk past her but stopped and sent her a sideways glance, “Don’t even think of messing with that girl. I repeat, don’t. You’ll regret it, Mia” his voice twisted into a threat.

By the time he completed his words, Mia could no longer stop the tears from rolling down from her eyes to her cheeks freely as sorrow curled through her spirit, an ache so intense. She felt it like a wound deep and throbbing.

“I’ll be waiting for you and Aurora in the car,” he directed his words to Blake now and then turned to the door before Blake could reach close and opened the door for him.

From where Zac was sitting in the backseat, he could see Ava and Nick standing a distance at the side of one of the new cars and sharing a high-five clap with a bright smiles on their faces.

A scaring thunder struck across his heart in an instant and for a moment, he couldn’t find his breath.

And it was when the car passed by them and halted beside one of the cars that Ava and Nick noticed Zac had returned.

“You’ve done a great job today, Ava. We shall continue tomorrow,” Nick notified as they walked forward to welcome Zac.

Ava nodded eagerly, her perky smile not parting from her face for a second.

Without waiting for Blake to come open the door, Zac beat him to it and got down immediately.
Seeing that his boss had come down, Blake swung around to open the door for Aurora.

With a skip of her heart, Ava’s eyes came in contact with this slender and tall man’s eyes, his frame rippling with fierce. Somehow, it made him appear even more intimidating.

Purposely, she wiped off the smile from her face and stared at this man with a livid expression.

Who bought ten cars for a lady at once?

“Ava!” this tiny and thrilling voice cut off her trance. She looked to the other side of the car and saw Aurora running to her.

“Aurora?” she was surprised but then, a flashing smile had crept to her face as she closed their distance and hugged her so tightly, filling her nostril with her honey shampoo.

“I missed you so much, Ava,”

“I missed you, Aurora,” they both let out simultaneously and laughed heartily after unlocking from the brief hug. With this, they began talking and reminiscing about their first meeting.

By this time, Zac had dismissed Blake who left the place after a small chivalrous bow to his boss.
Zac then gesticulated to Nick to come forward.

“Yes, boss,” Nick said as he bustled over to where Zac stood.

Turning around so that Ava wouldn’t hear their discussion, he asked gently, “How was the driving lesson?”

Nick’s smile grew as he responded in a friendly manner, “I’m so impressed, boss. Ava is so quick-witted beyond my expectation and I wouldn’t be surprised if she starts driving on the highway after tomorrow’s lesson,”

Zac’s lips thinned into a tight frown as a small crease formed on his forehead.

One part of him was so pleased with the result while the other part wanted to yell out to Nick’s face and ask why the fuck would he have allowed Ava to smile so sunny to him like that?

“Boss?” Nick called out hesitantly. He had been talking like forever but his boss only kept staring at his face motionlessly.

“I’m listening,” Zac lied, taking his gaze to Ava and putting his hands in his pocket.

“So I think after tomorrow and next week's training_”
“No,” Zac swiftly looked back at his face and interrupted his sentence.

“There’s no more training or lesson after tomorrow, got that?” his voice spoke finality but the look on his face was what Nick couldn’t comprehend.

Has he done something wrong?

With his eyebrows furrowed, he watched as his boss went to grab Ava’s hand and then dragged her away with him.

“What are you doing, Zac? Can’t you see that Ava and I are still talking?” Aurora yelled after him but he voiced no reply and then disappeared into the building with the whining Ava.

Aurora then tilted her head in Nick’s direction. “What was that, Nick?” she puzzled.

“What was what?” Nick possum.

Aurora groaned and bounced her foot against the foot. She couldn’t understand her uncle’s attitude just now.

“Ava,” she called and attempted to skip into the house but Nick had come to block her movement, grinning down at her.

In his opinion, Zac and Ava needed privacy for now. So he would have to stop Aurora from going inside by all possible means.

“Come on, Aurora. I need to show you something so interesting right now,” Nick gave emphasis to the word interesting, grinning wider.

Ava looked at him with a frown. “Why do you suddenly want to show me something interesting and what is it?”

“You’ll find out when we get there,” saying this finish, Nick moved more closer, stooped, and carried Aurora in his arms.

“It better be interesting, Nick,” Aurora hide her smile as she spoke. She loved when carried by tall men.

“Trust me, Pumpkin” Nick assured with a broad wink.
Inside.

“What are you doing, Zac?” Ava had not stopped grouching since the moment Zac had grabbed her hand and strolled into the house.

From the living room and climbing the staircases and to the bedroom.

He only let go of her hand when they reached the bedroom and then bolted the door.

Ava was beginning to get scared at his sudden attitude and even the look in his eyes was as cold as a blizzard, very intimidating.

As he ambled to where she was standing, Ava thought that she would be retreating to the wall but surprisingly, she was not. She stood there implanted, denying turning pale under his hard glare.

“Why would you do that, Tinkerbell?” his voice came out delicately, far from what Ava was expecting.

“Do what?” Ava held back the urge to snap at him, looking him in the eyes squarely.

She was mad at him for buying ten cars for her at a time and now, he lugged her here like she was some kind of a puppet.

“You don’t smile at any other man except me, Ava. Do you understand?” his was even softer this time as he did his best to keep his anger in check.

This was Ava. He became someone else completely once being around her.

Ava couldn’t help the scoff that left her lips and she had to stop her eyes from rolling.

“Zac, you dragged me up here because you saw me smiling with Nick?” it was more like a statement that a question.

Zac angled closer, his eyes not moving from hers.
Curling his powerful hand around her exposed tiny waist, his palm was wide, firm, and warm. It could inexplicably soothe one’s mind.

“I’m damn serious right now, Snow white. I felt my heart break after seeing you smile brightly with Nick earlier. Please, don’t do that again. Not to Nick, not to any man but me,”

His voice carried a hint of despair truly and together with the look on his face, Ava’s heart fluttered in an entirely different way as a smile of her own threatened her lips.

‘His jealousy is so bad’ she said mentally.

She then curled her arms around his neck and said cordially, “Jamal, ten cars are too much for me. Believe me, I would be very cool with just a car, huh,” she gave her puppy eyes, batting her eyelashes cutely that no man would resist.

Cracking a mischievous grin, he had quite expected her to talk like this.

“Your man is a billionaire, babe. It’s time you get used to this treatment,” Zac leaned his face even closer as he spoke but Ava instantly turned her face away, visibly upset.

She further attempted to free herself from his hold but Zac tightened his grip instead, leaving her to give up.

“For crying out, Zac. I’m just twenty” Ava nearly screamed to his face.

“Oh, my bad, sweetheart. I’ll have them send the remaining ten tomorrow then,”
