WHERE’S THE MEEK AND DOCILE AVA?

Ava looked over at the man standing in the doorway and secretly took a deep breath to calm her nerves.

She then swept the features of the Greek god standing gracefully in the doorway.

His cuffs were pulled up to his arms and his white shirt was tucked inside his suit pants.

His slender legs were wrapped in his suit pants and the smooth line outlined the curvature of his hips connected to his crotch.

He was having broad shoulders and a narrow waist, his physique was totally perfect and flawless. He looked crazily handsome.

Restless butterflies stormed in Ava's stomach while her body tingled from head to toes as she let out a tight smile and strolled toward him in the doorway.

"Are you okay?" he asked with troubled eyes as his hand shot up to reach hers. A flash of worry and anger could be seen crossing his face.

"Sure. I'll go get ready as well," Ava responded softly and then walked away.

Zac watched her figure until she was completely out of sight. He then shifted his hard gaze to Reid's face who already looked prepared for whatever Zac was going to do to him.

"What the hell did you say to her, Reid?" asked Zac in a majestic and dictatorial manner.

"I only fucking warned her to stay away from you, Zac," Reid nearly yelled out but restrained himself with all his power.

Immediately after his words, Zac's chest collapsed and lines creases his forehead.

"It's too dangerous for her, Zac and you know that better. So please, stop seeing her already," said Reid in a low voice now, his eyes pleading ardently.

Zac didn't respond immediately, only staring at him fiercely and the flames in his heart almost sprayed out, burning this man into ashes.

Reid was becoming scared now as he forced his legs to step back a bit.

Zac had never looked at him with this kind of sharp expression in the past. His expression was darker than ever. So he was really afraid now.

"The next time you repeat this shit, I'll make sure she's the last person you ever see again," Zac warned ferociously, practically spitting fire and his sharp eyes shrinking sharply.

The fierceness in his eyes made Reid gulp subconsciously and couldn't dare voice out any reply. So he only swallowed the words he wanted to scream at him.

***

Ava's elbow was rested on the windowsill as her eyes were outside on the road all the time, ignoring the broad man sitting in the driver's seat but his overwhelming presence wasn't an easy thing to ignore.

"Are you mad at me, Tinker bell?" his gravel baritone voice had ceased her heart from beating and it was as if that was not enough, he positioned his huge hand on hers, sending shivers down her spine.

Ava inhaled two deep breaths before securing the courage to look at his face.

Smiling at his side face as his main face was concentrated on the road, "I'm not mad at you, Zac and why would I even be mad?" she asked with a slight shrug.

"Then why do you keep staring out instead of you to be peering at every feature of my face? I'm handsome enough to your taste, right?" he leaned closer, his brown eyes holding her prisoner.

The intensity of his eyes held her speechless and then her heart started racing.

Soon, she recalled that the car was still moving, meaning that Zac was still driving yet he was not looking at the road but at her face.

"Come on, Zac. I do not wish to die yet. Focus on your driving," Ava diverted her attention to the road and then released a quick breath.

A breathtaking smile appeared on his lips, brightening everything around her.

"I don't wish to die yet too, Tinkerbell, but if at all I'm dying soon..." he trailed off, his gaze staying on the road.

Ava stayed silent, waiting for his next words.

"We're dying together, Ava. I don't wish to be alone in the grave. So you're coming with me," he completed his words in a deep British accent.

Ava's ears became red hot and she felt frustrated to death.

She didn't know the hidden meaning behind those words but a part of her assured her that Zac was not going to be like her ex-boyfriend- Cole.

Zac soon noticed her sullen mood and he smiled.

"I was just joking, Tinkerbell. Come on,"

Ava opened her mouth at a loss of how to reply to his words so she closed it back.

Right then, her eyes caught Zac's wallet in the central console, and without thinking, she grabbed it and opened it.

"Ja-mal," she spelled out, gazing at the person in the ID card closely.

"Isn't this you?" she tilted her head toward Zac and asked with dilated eyes.

"Just drop that, Tinker," Zac warned. All smiles were wiped from his face and all teasing suddenly looked like they never existed.

"So your real name is Jamal?" a deep sneer was embedded at the corners of her lips as she spoke.

"I'll only call you Jamal from now on," she pushed on provocatively, leaning forward and touching Zac's cheek.

"Tinkerbell, don't," Zac looked at her and wanted to say his words in a stern voice like he normally does but his voice only grew elegant instead.

And then it occurred to him that Ava was the only person who he had a soft demeanor for.

"Jamal. I like the name already. Jamal," Ava said with a broad wink.

Looking at her childlike face, Zac didn't know when a chuckle left his lips as he shook his head slowly.

He felt extremely attracted to her, liking the fact that she was beginning to open her heart in front of him.

Long minutes later, Ava dismounted the car with a sunny smile glistening on her face.

Turning into her house, she was surprised to see Charlotte at the exit with an annoyed expression.

"Where are you coming from, Ava?" she flared.

Ava looked at her face for a moment and wanted to walk past her without pronouncing a word.

"Whether you're seeing Zachary Gonzalez or not, you still remain my younger sister. So you don't walk out on me while talking to you. Do you understand?" Charlotte reacted and shouted, her eyes bulging outwards.

Ava huffed, "So now I am your younger sister, Charlotte?" she questioned, her lips curving into a lopsided grin.

"You can claim that I'm your sister now because I'm seeing Zachary Gonzalez, isn't it?"

"Cut the crap, Ava. Someone like you has no chance of becoming his one nightstand let alone his girlfriend. Get that straight," Charlotte interjected, her eyes blazing with fire.

By the time she finished her statement, Ava erupted in a peal of laughter, her shoulder trembling because of the laughter.

"You're so dumb, Charlotte," the corners of her eyes crinkled as she narrowed her eyes a bit at her.

"Do you know why?"

Charlotte didn't interrupt her but just glaring at her.

"Zac and I had fucked each other passionately all through the night. Moreover, Zac looks at me differently, I mean with love. So there's a chance of me becoming his girlfriend, Miss Charlotte Taylor," Ava drawled her last sentence dramatically, raising her chin defiantly.

Charlotte's mouth and eyes opened in disbelief as she stared at Ava's face.

"Excuse me,"

With this, Ava walked right past her and entered the house.

Open-mouthed and watching her back view disappearing, Charlotte thought inside her heart that where's the meek and docile Ava?

"Oh my God! You really have to celebrate this for us, Ava," Freya's voice rose to an excited shriek, banging their table noisily.

"Come on, Freya. Keep your voice down," Ava touched her thigh and said softly.

She had noticed that the people in the restaurant with them had their eyes on them, making her feel uncomfortable.

"You're just so lucky, Ava. Believe me, I'm happy for you," Hazel put in, staring at Ava with her heart in her eyes.

"Even you, Hazel? Zac hasn't proposed to me yet, guys," Ava smiled and rolled her eyeballs playfully.

"He would never have had sex with you if he doesn't want you, Ava," Hazel said clearly and Freya nodded quickly in agreement.

"Then what about the man who came to his house this morning," she was referring to Reid.

She had told her friends about what Reid had said to her that morning.

"His words had made me remember Mason's warnings. Remember, he had also warned me to stop seeing Zac," Ava jogged their members, looking a bit sad now.

In her opinion, she would have avoided Zac by all means if she hadn't fallen in love with him.

But she loved him now, she could no longer deny it.

"I told you to never pay attention to Mason's words, Ava. And about the unknown man, try to ask Zac about it," Hazel said persuasively and Ava found a point in her words.

"Okay. Enough of the talk now, let's go shopping," Freya yelled out and the rest of the girls smiled.

"Bills on, Ava," Hazel inputted, leaping up to her feet and taking the beaming Ava with her.
