You're Beautiful
“You really missed a lot, Ava, Why would you just vanish like that?” Freya grumbled for the umpteenth time. It seemed she wouldn't believe what Ava had told her. Meanwhile, Ava smiled briefly while she tugged some tendrils of her hair behind an ear, “Trust me, Freya, I unexpectedly got the cramps” she explained with a sigh, carrying her glass of juice to conceal her embarrassed look. Freya slowly nodded her head twice, “Hope you're good now though?” as she spoke, she looked at Ava bit by bit as if trying to find out something from her. Ava gave a slight hum, checking the time from her phone screen. “Have you spoken with Caleb and asked why he's not in school today?” she raised a question, wrapping her fingers around her phone nervously. She couldn't understand why she was feeling like this, was it because she would be seeing Zac again? Or was it because she couldn't get her mind off his tactics from last night? “Ava, are you okay? You look uneasy” Freya pointed out, looking worried. Ava shook her head curtly and got to her feet abruptly, “I'm fine, Freya, I'll start going now” she notified bringing Freya to her feet in surprise, “It's almost 5 pm, Ava, we're having a lecture soon” Freya reminded calmly, staring at her suspiciously. “Yes, Freya, I have something to take care of, bye,” she said hastily and hurried toward the entrance and soon disappeared, leaving Freya speechless.
With all sorts of mixed emotions filled in Ava's heart, she got closer to her apartment and dispelled all her thoughts at once, ready to face the reality. Just as she was about to enter her house, the screeched sound of a car from behind her ceased her movement. She shut her eyes briefly and then turned around properly to see a man wrapped in all suits bowing slightly to her, “Let's get going, Miss” the man announced and opened the back seat door for her. Ava gulped hard, looking from the young man's face to the eye-catching car he was holding out the handle for her. She inhaled and exhaled deeply, and then moved toward the car. As if sensing her tension, “You have nothing to worry about, Miss. Besides, my boss would get mad if we arrive a minute late” the man rationalized, having a soft friendly smile on his face. Ava reciprocated the smile the best way she could, but a trace of nervousness could still be seen flitting behind her beautiful eyes. Soon, she bent and got into the car and the man drifted off to the driver's side immediately he shut the door.
As soon as the lady who had been standing in front of Ava evacuated from her sight, Ava slightly lifted her head and her eyes met with her own reflection in the lengthy dressing mirror. She held her breath and blinked rapidly to see if her mind wasn't playing tricks on her. Her hair was put into a tight bun and the make-up was just modest yet exquisite. However, she felt like she was not the one in the mirror as she subconsciously pressed a hand to her cheek. “Miss, are you ready?” the man stared at her from the mirror with an adorable smile. Ava stared back at him and nodded her head twice, then stood up. The man led her out of the luxurious bedroom with a little bow. Walking down the alley, the floor was tiled with celadon, and she felt like she was walking on cotton. She felt light and didn't feel safe, she didn't know what was waiting for her. There were hundreds and thousands of questions, but she couldn't get them out of her mouth. They reached a place after a few long strides, the man twisted the doorknob, opened the door wide, and then motioned to Ava to go in. Ava couldn't help but clutch the white robe she was wearing in her hand as she peered into the elegant room, which was similar to the one they were coming from. “Go in, Miss. Mr. Gonzalez would be ready in a minute, you wouldn't love to keep him waiting” the man egged on. Ava was still mulling over what the man had just said when a gorgeous woman suddenly appeared in the doorway, “Don't worry, Mr. Derek, I'll take it from here” the woman prodded, and the man stepped back at once. Ava looked over at the elegant and classy looking woman who in turn offered an adoring smile, “Only your dress, and you're ready, Miss” Ava barely nodded and then went in.
The bright light shimmering in the parking lot and faint pearly lustre reflected on Zac's face as he stood rigorously beside his car. He was looking graceful and self-confident in a custom-made suit with smooth edges and no creases, which made him look rich and noble; an endless abyss along with it. Suddenly, he turned around and felt his heart miss out a bit. He watched as she walked toward him looking regal in a black dress with an inspiring design that revealed her back, the two sides of the dress diverged, all the way extending to the waist and hip line. Furthermore, her fair back was exposed, exuding an alluring temperament. She wore a set of dangling earrings and a silver necklace. As Ava subconsciously lifted her dress lightly, Zac couldn't help but admire her sliver feet encased in high heels. Ava gripped her clutch so tight, walking as slowly as possible. She wondered how most ladies could manage to wear this for hours, her feet were already aching, and the night hasn't even begun. Eventually, she got to where he was staying and lowered her head, fighting a sliver of panic while waiting for him to say something. Meanwhile, Zac's Adam apple kept bobbing as he looked at her up and down, “You're beautiful” his heart was trembling, his voice was like the tumbling atmospheric pressure. It was the voice from his chest, sounding dull and sharp.
Ava's heart pounded strongly as if it could jump out of her chest at any time. She raised her head and met her gaze for a heart-stopping moment. She stared at his face that was swept by the light and shadow. He had a tall nose, sexy thin lips, and deep penetrating eyes that made him look charming. “Thanks” she let out in an extremely low voice, lowering her head to toy with the clutch in her hand. Taking note of what to do next, Zac secretly forced himself to breathe out and then unlocked the passenger door for Ava as a normal gentleman would do. Thank goodness he had discarded all his bodyguards and even the driver, he doesn't trust himself not to hit anyone who dared steal glances at Ava tonight. As Ava bent and got into the Ferrari, Zac caught a glimpse of her exposed fair back, and all the muscles on his body tightened immediately. Initially, he was pleased with the fact that the dress wasn't revealing any area around her breasts, little did he know that her back was revealed. He cursed silently, recalling how his assistant had told him that the agency was the best in the country. He released a sigh and turned around to the driver's seat. Since his assistant had stood up for them, then he shall be the one to bear the retribution.
Half an hour later, the car stopped in front of a building and a row of luxurious cars were parking at the entrance. The res carpet stretched to the door. On each side of the door, there stood two men in a black suits and one senior in the middle of them to welcome the guests. Zac held out his hand for Ava to take, who took a glance around and curved her lips to an especially arc before hooking her tiny arm around his. As they headed into the hall, Ava couldn't help but feel nervous. There were a lot of cameramen and reporters around. Just as they were close to the hall, Ava heard several clicks and lightening on her face. She looked over at the cameramen but looked away promptly, “Come on, give me a big smile, gorgeous” one of them urged, moving backward and clicking the camera. Raising his head defiantly, it seemed the particular cameraman effortlessly sensed the silent domineering gleaming across Zac's eyes because he disappeared into the little crowd before Ava could give in to his request.
“Look who has arrived, everyone!” a female reporter called out to her colleagues. They all looked in the same direction and saw Zac, “It's Zachary Gonzalez!” one of them shouted, “And he's here with a lady. This would make the headline, guys” another one put in, sounding so keen. Directly, they all flee from where they were gathering, leaving the guest they were interrogating speechless. “Welcome, Mr. Gonzalez” the one who had seen him first was the one who greeted, smiling so big and looking over at the lucky lady he was holding.
