TOO BEAUTIFUL TO BE OWNED BY HIM
Ava stepped out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around her body.
Her gaze fell on the fairy male sleeping on the bed and her lips automatically stretched into a smile. The man had fallen asleep after he nearly crumpled her legs.
Funny, he was the one who had unintentionally attempted to cracked her legs but he was the one sleeping instead.
At the thought of their numerous make out, Ava’s face turned red and she could feel the heat. She could never get enough of him even with how long they've been together.
Just then, a shrilling sound of a phone suddenly cut through the air. Ava looked toward it and saw that it was Zac’s phone.
She quickly scampered toward the tea table where the phone was lying on it and picked it up. Seeing the caller, she blinked in surprise and tilted her head to glance at the sleeping man again.
He looked really peaceful while sleeping and if the phone continued to ring, it would no doubt disrupt his sleep.
Looking back at the ringing phone, she thought it was not a good idea to ignore the call. Hence; she answered the call with a slight shaky hand and pressed it to her ear.
“Hi, ma’am. Good evening, ma’am,” she greeted anxiously, while she absentmindedly clutched the towel around her body.
Meanwhile, she was only met with silence and of course she knew what the caller would be thinking. ‘I called a man then why is a woman answering the call,’
“Uhmm, Zac is currently sleeping, ma’am, and that's why I answered the call. I’m sorry,” she apologized, biting down on her lower lips nervously.
“And who are you?” the person asked bluntly.
“I am, Ava. Zac’s… uhmm…Zac’s girl…friend,” Ava introduced but she had barely finished talking when the person’s voice suddenly rose with excitement over the phone.
“You’re Zac’s girlfriend? Oh my, I apologize for being rude just now, darling. I was just surprised to hear a woman’s voice when I had clearly dialed my son’s number,”
Relieved, Ava smiled and nodded, “I understand, ma’am,”
“Oh, no. Enough with the ‘ma’am’ already, just call me Genevive. The same way your man does. Funny how I used to grumble and whine for him to address me as Mom like other children rather than calling me by name but that dude never listened and now I think I like to be called my name better,”
Ava could sense the adoration attached to Genevive’s voice when speaking about Zac and she found herself smiling along with her.
“It's just two days to my birthday, sweetheart. I hope he has told you about it because he's promised me you'll be coming along,”
“Yes, G-Genevive. I'll be there,” Ava replied, feeling ashamed of herself to call someone who's old enough to be her mother by her name.
“Alright, darling. And please give him this message that I do not want billions of dollars jewelry as my birthday present this year but something remarkable that could make me become a grandma from his household,” Genevive was grinning this whole time.
Ava coughed and blushed so hard, understanding the meaning behind her words. “I-I will tell him,”
After a few more chats, the call came to an end. Ava smiled, feeling elated. She concluded in her mind that she had liked Genevive already for she's such a nice woman.
At that moment, a pair of strong arms wrapped around her from behind and her smile even grew wider as she didn't need to turn around before recognizing the person.
“Who were you talking to on the phone, Tinkerbell?” his mouth was right next to her ear and then he purposely let out a breath around there which sent shivers down her body.
She melted into his body and tilted her head, willingly allowing him to unleash his gentle assault.
“Your mom,” she whispered, her eyes slipping close when his mouth captured her ear and his teeth grazed her earlobe. “Didn't wanna disturb your sleep. So I answered it,”
Zac smiled but didn't stop his invasion, “Let me guess, she called to remind me of her birthday,” he grunted, his tongue going in and out of Ava’s ear little by little.
Ava wheezed a breath and said ‘Yes’, while her entire being went down in flames. She wanted more.
But then, she needed to deliver Genevieve’s message. So she swirled around to look at him in the face and a chuckle left her lips when she noticed the scowl on his face.
“She told me to tell you this,” She began and Zac raised his brows, giving her his full attention. However, Ava averted his face while her face started to morph in a deep shade of red.
Zac raised brows furrowed in confusion, “What did she tell you, Tinkerbell?” he asked in a gentle voice.
“She said she doesn't want expensive jewelry for her birthday this year but something else,” a pause, studying his expression. “She said she yearned to be call a grandma from your household,”
Ava didn't meet his eyes this whole time but after her words, she met his eyes and the glint she saw there was what she'd not expected followed by a soft smile on his smile. He's not angry?
“And what do you think?” Zac asked, returning an arm behind her back and pulling her close.
Ava stared deep into his deep twinkling brown eyes and then she swallowed a sharp breath, “I know for sure that can never happen between us. So I haven't thought much about it,” she said simply and lowered her eyes.
Lies. She had been looking forward for a moment like this where they would blab about such a topic. And her heart had raced in excitement when Genevieve mentioned it to her.
However, she only hid her excitement because she had no idea what Zac would think about it. And that was why she pretended as if she wasn’t concerned. What if Zac doesn't like her enough to be the mother of his children?
Confusion dented Zac’s brows, “What do you think it can never happen between us? Don’t you like me to be the father of your children?” emotion crested on his lips.
A smile spread across Ava’s face, her eyes burning with the hefty waves of emotions slamming into her chest. “There’s nothing I want more than for you to be the father of my children, Zac,” she confessed, tears gradually building in her eyes.
Zac breathed out, relieved. And then he started smiling too, “You’re not joking, are you?”
She shook her head, lost in his smile. He was breathtaking. ‘How did I get so lucky?’
Although, Ava wouldn’t say that her man was the best man out there or if there was any chance for him to win the best man of the year. However, to her, no man could be any better than her man.
Fine. He might have forced her to take training on how to use a gun which she had successfully learned and passed with distinct over the last two weeks. He’d make sure she could identify some various guns and their usage.
Ava had never seen a man training his woman to use a gun before but then, she soon realized that it was for her protection. She was afraid. She was really afraid that something worse would come their way soon.
However, she was even more afraid to be apart from him even while thinking of the danger. She had made a vow that she would rather stick by his side rather than being a coward and leave him just because of what he's into.
“I don't want us to have a baby yet due to some hidden war surrounding me, Tinkerbell. And moreover, I would like us to have a grand wedding for the world to know that you're mine first before having a baby. Do you like that?” Zac grinned.
Ava nodded, grinning too. But stopped almost immediately.
“When would those hidden war come to an end, Zac? Is that happening any time soon?” she couldn't keep the curiosity with a hint of fright in her voice away.
Zac’s face became serious as he slowly nodded his head and hugged her, “It might be happening very soon or later… most especially when I'm not seeing it coming,”
***************
Zachary Gonzalez stood shirtless on the open-air balcony of the ship, enjoying the full view of the horizon with a cigarette between his lips.
The occasional breeze wouldn't allow his hair to stay in place while he nonchalantly puffed out the smoke through his nostrils and emptied the cigarette ashes on the ashtray beside him on the rails.
He looked disturbed. He looked depressed and he’d been hiding it from Ava for the past two days. It started from the moment Ava mentioned them having a baby.
He truly wanted it too. He badly wanted it. To mark Ava as his forever and no mothefucker would try to snatch him from him. However; his rivals and major enemies are out there-Walker. Zac was most definitely certain that the asslicking bastard is skimming for the best time to strike.
He would have to come through him before he could ever think of laying a finger on his woman. Any bastard would think he could harm his Ava or take him away would die by his hands first.
While Zac was standing there with his thoughts alone, Ava had come to stand at the entrance, taking pleasure in staring at the tall man with a sturdy build and sharp features.
He exuded a cold, yet domineering aura which others could strongly feel even if he was just standing around casually.
Little by little, she walked silently closer to him and then wrapped her arms around his waist from behind.
“Ta~da!” she squealed, trying to scare him.
Zac’s plush lips curved into a smirk and said casually without glancing at her, “I knew you've been standing there for a while, Tinkerbell,”
He tossed the cigarette into the ashtray and turned around to face Ava who in turn gave him three exaggerated winks.
“You know I've been behind you?” she asked, amazed.
“Yes, baby. Did you enjoy your nap? We’ll be arriving in Chicago in 45,” He wrapped his strong arms around her and notified softly.
Ava nodded and looked at the ocean and beyond. She loved the feeling and the soothing atmosphere of the natural breeze. Suddenly, she wished this trip wouldn't come to an end.
“Can we go on a cruise vacation when we return from Chicago?” she peered into his man’s eyes and asked cutely.
“Anything for you, baby,” he smiled. A devastatingly handsome smile that knocked the breath right out of Ava’s body, leaving her breathless and putty in his arms like a puddle.
He was a man who could make women go crazy over him.
Grinning, she placed a soft kiss on his broad chest, holding his waist, and then laid her head on his chest.
“Zac, do you think your mom is going to like me?” I asked him the question that had been roaming my mind since when I'd spoken to her.
“Who cares if she likes you or not? I'm enough to do all the liking, or aren't I?”
Ava didn't need to steal a glance at his face at that moment before she knew that he was already frowning.
And that was it. His face was already mapping into frowning lines when Ava looked at him.
“Do I need to start educating you about the difference between the likeness I'm talking about?” Ava also frowned.
Her man plays dumb when she least expects it. Especially when she was dead serious.
Zac then chuckled, brushing back her hair that kept flying around because of the intense breeze. “Is there a reason Genevive wouldn't like you?”
Ava smacked her lips softly and pouted, “I don't know. What if she doesn't find me attractive enough to be with you?”
“My mom would think you're too beautiful to be owned by me alone, sweetheart,” Zac responded with that heart-stopping smile that never failed to leave her breathless before he slowly took her lips in a gentle and passionate kiss.
