Chapter 28

I've been working with Mr. Hawam for six years now and I can say that he's a man with a big heart. As soon as I introduced myself to him for the first time, he seemed to me very courteous for a man of his rank. I admit that it was not easy to approach him, especially without an appointment beforehand. However, my motivation was too important for me to move backwards. I had to be get a job in one of his companies, no matter the price and that is what I did exactly. That day, his secretary had asked me to go home and make an appointment before meeting him. I paid no attention to his words. I told him that I could not leave these premises without having had to speak to his boss. On the eve of my arrival here, I had studied the company in detail and made a project in which I brought out the flaws in this company, as well as proposals for solutions to these girls. I had actually planned everything to attract Mr. Hawam's attention in a positive way. Since the secretary had prevented me from entering the office of his boss, I remained waiting on a bench not far from his office, with great hope that he would come out and give me a few minutes to approach him. I could even wait until the dice, so physically and psychologically had I prepared myself to meet him. Because of this, I had plenty of time and was not impatient. Mr. Hawam could not leave his office until the evening. I had been amazed that he could spend the whole day locked in his office working at his age. I then understood why he was so successful in his business. As soon as I saw him leaving his office, I ran up to him to submit my candidacy.
"Hello Mr Hawam!" I told him as I caught him outside the elevator door.
"Hello my boys, what can I do for you?" He had asked me so simplistically.
"I'm looking for a job and I'm here to submit my application to you." I answer him by handing him my file which is contained in a cardboard folder.
"It's more to my secretary that applications are filed. Go give it to her now before she comes home." He replies by pointing me towards his secretary. However, I protest in a polite tone and retort
"Mr. Hawam, I wanted to hand deliver my application file to you because I want to make sure I get hired. I could do it online, but I prepared to travel more than 500 km away. here just to see you in person and show you my fervor and strong desire to be part of your team I have also done a state of your business and there is a project on the strengths and weaknesses of that in this file . I would be considered privileged if you ever recruit me as your employee because you are a great businessman whose reputation is world famous. I want to learn from you by working for you."
"Okay my boy, I will take your file and study it myself. My secretary will call you afterwards to inform you of my decision." It was his last sentence before taking place in the elevator which has just opened in front of him.
I think it was my temerity that played a lot in my favor and that pushed Mr. Hawam to consider my candidacy. It is certain that he had never met a person who came to ask for work with such audacity. This worked considerably in my favour. And as a result, in the same that I had submitted my application to him, he hired me. Since then, I have been working in his Tech' company, which specializes in the installation of computer systems. It is the largest company in this field, both nationally and internationally. Although I am here for a specific purpose, I must confess that it is a privilege to work with this remarkable man and in one of his successful businesses.
However, since my arrival in this company, I have not yet met Muse. Besides, I've never heard of her. It's already been six years and no trace of her. However, I got very close to Mr. Hawam. Sometimes I even go to visit him. Muse is nowhere though. Would she have flown away? He would have spoken to me about her if she was there, all the same. I sometimes come to believe that he was not the one who had helped her escape the brothel. Or else she escaped and took her way away from him. If so, I would be amazed that she could survive in this jungle of nature. I really hope she died after she ran away from the brothel. Indeed, this girl being alive can only cause us trouble.
After a long time working for Mr. Hawam, I thought it appropriate to let Pauline know my thoughts when I returned from leave.
"This man doesn't seem to even know about the existence of the brothel. Since I've been with him, he's been living a normal life." I told him with a hint of sincerity in my eyes.
"That's what he's leading you to believe. Stay alert and just watch him. Eventually he'll do something that could harm us." Pauline replies on her guard. However, I am not of the same opinion as her and I retort to her
"I've been seeing him for five years now and he's never told me about a brothel, or about Muse. I don't think he even knows the latter. Otherwise how do you explain that he doesn't ever mentioned her, or that I haven't met her in all this time?"
"I don't know me! Maybe she's on a trip, or still in her room. She must be somewhere."
"I'd be surprised if she's still here. Even if she's on a trip, you still don't think she should come back once in a while! Maybe she died after all."
"In this case, it would suit us enormously. However, we must be reassured that she is indeed. This plague of Muse is a problem attractor. No need to remind you that she is alive, it is happening to us trouble. Still have a little more time in this town to be with this man. If until next year Muse does not appear, or else he does not seem to be interested in the brothel , you can come back here." Pauline proposes to me and I agree with her.
So that's how I stayed working with Mr. Hawam for another year. However, having seen neither trace of Muse nor Mr. Hawam's desire to harm the brothel, I think I will have to leave this job and return to my city. I therefore plan to submit my letter of resignation before the end of this week. It is therefore this decision in thought that I go up from the restaurant to my office. But when I got out of the elevator, I come across Mr. Hawam who also gets out of his elevator, because he is the only one to use this elevator.
"Boy, are you okay?" He asks me looking cheerful.
"Yes Mr. Hawam, I'm fine thank you! As for you, I can see the joy on your face. No need to ask you to know that you are fine as a charm."
Indeed, Mr. Hawam is very jovial. His face became more than cheerful than usual.
"It's normal, my daughter has returned from Great Britain after six years of absence. Despite her reluctance to come back here, I was able to convince her to come back to me." He answers me even happier.
"Your daughter? You've never told me about her before?!" I ask him the question, looking puzzled.
"Oh yes! I must have forgotten to tell you about Muse..."
"Muse?" I question him almost shouting, forgetting to hide my surprise.
