Chapter 31
Muse
I'm not dreaming, it is indeed Euniel who is standing there in front of me. But then, what is he doing here in this hospital? Does he no longer work in his clinic? Or does he give psychology sessions in this hospital too? I ask myself this question inwardly, scrutinizing him with my gaze. He hasn't changed at all. It even seems that he has become more beautiful. Its perfume, which smells just as good, has remained the same. As for her gaze, it hasn't lost the hypnotizing effect it had on me. Fortunately, his speech brings me back to the real world by pulling me brutally from my daydream.
"What are you doing here and more importantly, why are you crying?" He asks me the questions successively.
"I took my dad to the ER very early this morning. He's not doing well at all." I respond with a sniffle.
"Are you talking about Mr. Hawam? What happened to him? What are the doctors saying?" He asks the question again, looking worried.
"He was admitted to the emergency room as soon as he arrived here. I found him this morning in his room shivering. Then he had convulsions. When we arrived at the hospital, the doctor said he almost had a heart attack and he stabilized. Thank God I found him sooner and we got him to the hospital before the worst happened. However, the doctor told me that he We need to get him a blood transfusion as soon as possible." I tell Euniel without stopping the tears.
"Calm down Muse! It'll be fine, it's a small problem!" He tells me in a voice so tender that, in addition to the touch of his hand on my shoulder, I feel shivers run through my whole body. I turn back to him and slowly raise my eyes to look at him, and our eyes meet. We are hypnotized at this precise moment. I feel lost in this vast greenish ocean that are his eyes. Like a black hole absorbing everything that ventures in front of it, I feel absorbed in those deep eyes. Like two magnets with different poles, our bodies attract each other without our having any power to stop them. The atmosphere becomes electric and I feel an intense heat invading my body. Everything seems to no longer exist at this precise moment. Even my worries seem to evaporate, I suddenly forgot them just by Euniel's gentle gaze on me. As he was already advancing dangerously towards me, looking longingly at my lips, which trembled under the effect of this sensation he produced on me, I heard behind us
"Euniel! Where were you? I've been waiting for you in your office since this morning."
Euniel and I turn back to where that voice is coming from. We come across a fairly beautiful young lady with a moderately chubby shape. She is pleasing to the eye to be honest. She looks at me weirdly. Hope I didn't do anything wrong.
"Sandra? You didn't tell me you were coming this morning. I came late. What are you doing here?" Euniel told him while trying somehow to recover from his emotions.
"I wanted to surprise you my darling, I brought you your favorite breakfast, what you love when I cook it for you." The young woman resumes, taunting me with her gaze. His tone is quite bold and expressive. I understand that she probably wants to send me a message.
"Thank you for your attention Sandra! I'll join you later. There's a case I need to check before going to my office." He said to her a little embarrassed surely of what I can feel at the moment. Then, turning to me, he introduces us to each other briefly. "Muse, this is Sandra. Sandra, this is Muse."
"Nice to meet you !" She throws me half words. I smile at him not knowing what to say. Euniel, feeling the atmosphere become heavier, asks him with a pleading look
"Will you wait for me there for a few minutes?"
"Of course my love! For you I could wait all day!"
She speaks forcing a smile to show her happiness. She walks over to Euniel and places a kiss on his lips, without however failing to point at me her sparkling engagement ring set with a large diamond. I nevertheless feel a little twinge in the heart so much I am jealous. I remember the birthday party well. It was that girl. Even I could not notice his face, I recognize his morphology all the same. After the kiss she turns to me and throws me with a smirk
"See you soon Muse!" She says it by making the gesture of her hand where the ring is worn on the finger.
"Congratulations on your engagement! It was touching what you said to her at that anniversary party." I tell Euniel once left alone.
"Thank you! Why didn't you come in today? I would have been happy to see you again."
"I understood that I would have been too much if I did."
Euniel looks puzzled for a moment. Nevertheless, he pulls himself together and tells me
"Thank you for the gift you gave me. It was just perfect the way I like it!"
"I knew you would like it. I know your tastes." I say it spontaneously.
"So, you were telling me that your father needed a blood transfusion? Why hasn't this transfusion been done since you came? Is there a problem with that?" He asks me and I remember my worries. I answer him in a voice full of sadness.
"My father is O- blood type. It's a fairly rare type and no one has been found to donate blood to him. The hospital bank also doesn't have a stock of blood from this type. J I've already called all our acquaintances and employees, but no one has this blood type. That's why I'm so distraught. I can't and I don't want to lose my father so soon. We're just coming to find each other again. I will not be able to bear another death of a loved one."
Despite my efforts to contain myself, however, I cannot help crying bitterly. Euniel approaches me and takes me in his arms. As if I was only waiting for this moment, I rush into it like a fugitive finding refuge in a fortress. I feel safe in his arms. Like a big brother would with his little sister, he tenderly pats my back and whispers reassuring words in my ear.
"Don't cry, everything will be fine. You'll see, your father will be well soon. God is in control."
"How can things go? If my father doesn't receive a blood transfusion soon, he will die. If we don't find a donor..."
"I'll give him my blood, don't worry." Euniel cuts me off. I free myself from his arms and ask him in a lively voice
"Is that true? Can you do it? Are you of that blood type?"
He nods and answers confidently
"Yes Muse, I'm blood type O-." I jump into his arms with a reassured heart when I hear that. What a relief my God! That's really good news!
