In the Thick of it

There was a rush of wind as the dark ghouls moved with astonishing speed ,there was a crush of bodies as werewolves slashed at fellow wolves. Logan has long since tossed his blade and was now working solely with his claws and jabbed them with ease that was frightening into the stomachs of the ghouls.
She focused her mind and rose to her feet she glanced to her side where Bruce was fighting fiercely his claws shifted as he plunged it into the ghouls letting black blood spill, we were both in sync she dodged a ghoul, and stabbed one of the werewolves, Bruce had her back and grabbed one of the ghouls neck squeezed
" You are on a roll today" Bruce grinned as he slashed at one of them in the head severed from neck and rolled to a stop at her feet. She looked to it then back at him.
" And your point is "
" I find that very sexy " he grinned and she smiled, blood streaked across her face
" You are a dummy and that is not what I am looking for " she muttered,as they fell another wolf which was crazy because how the hell was it possible to fool this many
" What did he promise you for you to be willing to kill your kind" she hissed and the wolf growled
" Eternity, life outside of this mediocre existence forced to hide behind useless humans " he gritted and she huffed. The useless promises of a tyrant then she roared and slashed his throat, he gurgled blood filling his throat as he collapsed to the floor blood dripping from his mouth.
She glanced around her, the bodies of men had fallen the fathers, sons that were all dead because they couldn't decipher truth from fiction.
She glanced around chaos searching and noticed that she was no longer with Bruce, he was missing
There were now too many wolves in the mix which proved our earlier theory then, werewolves were working with this man, alot of them. The crush of bodies, the smell of blood and what she could only believe was magic burnt flesh filled her nostrils making her grimace. This was not what she wanted in her nostrils, she put in the effort to finding the others as they were likely
Aspen glanced around the clearing trying to find Emily, she could see Bruce and Logan not far off but she could not find Emily, Finn or that Tammy girl the screaming made her pause and glance around and she saw them, Emily tripping to the floor and kicking a female that could only be Tammy who let out a horrible roar
" I'll enjoy chopping your head off your body bitch" she roared and lunged with her knife toward Emily's chest.
Aspen jerked into action running after her almost immediately
" now die half breed " Tammy grunted bending over her,Aspen lunged to her
" Not today freak " she grunted and shoved her away, they grappled with each other for a while and then unable to take it anymore she shoved her claw into the witches chest ,her eyes widened and her breath falling in a stutter as she crumpled over her. She heaved a breath pushing the woman off her. Her skin was stained with blood that looked like a dark maroon color that wet her clothes and stuck to her fingers. She had no idea what she was but she was definitely not human, not completely at least.
Tammy hissed lying on the floor breathing harshly, she rose to her feet giving Emily her hand and pulling her up immediately
" Rough one there huh" she mumbled and Emily huffed
" You can say that I guess" she mumbled and Aspen nodded , looking to ground where just like the last time, she had disappeared to likely go and lick her wounds.
The air seemed to still and then an ear rending scream filled the air and with surprise she watched as men crashed to the ground, blood leaking from their eyes. She had no idea what was happening only that the noise was as grating as ever and it felt like her nose was leaking blood ,she was aware of blood dripping from her own nose, blocking the pain she felt she searched for the others.she saw Logan fighting his way toward she and Emily
" Let's go, I've seen Logan " she urged rushing toward she direction she had seen him come from
" What the hell is screaming like that"she asked as they rushed to Logan who was sprawled on the floor blood seeping from his ears
" I have no idea but we need to find it and shut it up" they got to him and Emily knelt by him
" are you okay, there's blood " she mumbled
" I feel like my head is about to fall off. " He grunted and unable to help it she raised her gaze looking for the source of the scream and jolted in surprise when she saw the Bruce running claws partly shifted as he charged a woman who seemed to be no older than Tammy's age which had to be maybe twenty to twenty five years
" What the hell- "she exclaimed jerking up, then flinched when the woman slapped him with enough force to throw him across the field, the screaming had stopped making Aspen realize that the woman had been the source of those sounds while she was not the one screaming something she had been doing had caused it , Bruce struggled to his feet as he moaned staggering.
" We have to follow them, to wherever they are going"
" No no no".she muttered pulling him back into her arms
" You just got tossed like a rag across the clearing and into a tree " , he took her hand watching the surroundings
" I'm fine, we can't let him get away so can we get in the chasing" he muttered and she nodded. He was right they did need to find the idiot. She sighed looking to Emily who shrugged
" Let's do this " she mumbled and she nodded
" Let's go but be careful"
They rushed through the clearing looking for anyone of them. The woman, Tammy or even Finn but there was nothing, then they heard a whimper from a distance, they rushed to the sound and Bruce stuttered to a stop as he cursed
" What the hell is she doing here" he rumbled.
" Who –" she started when she saw who he was looking at a woman with black hair as dark as pitch she leaned against a tree bleeding, the blood was trickling like a small stream and though she recognized her,she didn't know her.
" Cassie " Bruce huffed as he rushed to her , they joined him
She took as deep breath and shuddered as she hissed in pain
" What happened" he huffed and she coughed
" Got jumped, didn't stand much of a chance" she gritted and Bruce winced pressing his hand over the wound but blood still spilled from between his fingers
" It hurts bad" she hissed gulping
" You have to kill me, " she pleaded ,her voice almost too thin to be carried
" Are you crazy, I can't" he muttered sharply.
" You have to, I'll suffer more if you don't " she pleaded, tears wetting her cheeks and sliding down her face as she took tiny almost feathery breaths.
" Cassie hey you just have to stay with me, I'll get you back to the pack, we can fix this " he croaked,
" Who's the crazy girl who came to warn me not to mess this up, " he asked as he pulled her into his arms
" I'm afraid, she's a little too breathless to clap back at this" she laughed then winced in pain
" She's right. She won't make it, not with the way it is right now " Aspen muttered, she really felt sorry for whoever this woman was but there was no helping her.
Bruce seemed to realize this because he curled into himself his frame racked with silent sobs,she was confused. How had he known her to have become this close this quickly. She swallowed lightly then looked to him
" We have to get out of here " she mumbled and he gulped
" I can't do it "
" Then I'll do it for you" she mumbled, she bent to the floor and took Cassie from her arms and she sighed
" I'm sorry " she mumbled with a quick grab she pulled the dagger from his waist and stabbing her twice in the heart she fell silent no longer breathing,and Aspen laid her on the floor,
" I hope she finds peace " Emily mumbled
" So do I" she huffed and rose.
" We need to continue our search" Aspen mumbled looking Bruce who was far paler than she would have liked
" Are you ok, can we go on" she asked sidling up to him
He nodded
" Let's do it, we need to find Logan too"
A roar filled the air, and deep in the mountains where they had run towards a black cloud thickened,
" I think we're gonna find them up there" she mumbled and they sighed
," Then we move there " they raced ahead of themselves struggling to meet up, it would be best if they could kill Finn and all his associates now that would end things immediately
" We have to move you just killed her pet " she urged pulling him away
" How dare you come here " she roared, the air seemed to thin choking around them bringing them to their knees, Aspen dropped to one knee struggling to breathe, this was bad, it seemed whatever this woman was controlling the elements was in her nature
"You dared to run after me, like the measly worms that you are. Do you really want to die that badly" she screamed and Aspen laughed
" I think for worms we're doing far better than you wouldn't you say " she scoffed and the witch laughed pulling her closer and lifting her far into the sky, the wind squeezed around her chest increasing pressure until she couldn't breathe,she felt ribs crack and blood spilled out of her mouth heard Emily screaming somewhere
" Do you still think the same thing now" she gritted
" Now when I have your life in my hand and can kill you with a single thought" she asked again. Aspen coughed loudly
" Hey witch- "she choked and the woman paused a surprised glint in her eye as she dug the dagger into her chest and tore down black blood seeping from the wound
" I'm a far way from doom "she grunted , she howled and her grip loosened.
