Chapter 28: I REMEMBERED HIM MARKING ME

**Ellen Evans**

The journey was smooth.

When the boat finally entered the territory of the Hyran pack, I was totally starving, having eaten anything all day.

My stomach sung various songs of reminder to me, telling me that it was absolutely empty, without anything in it.

Apart from an apple which Lydia, the lady with green hair that I had met on the boat earlier had given me, I had eaten nothing else all day long.

My stomach grumbled again and I rubbed it gently in an attempt to hopefully shut it up. Well, that certainly did not work.

Lydia who was beside me had been asleep for most of the journey. And I wondered just how she could do that on a boat ride. That was because the water was occasionally disturbed by turbulence and I was sure that it was really dreadfully uncomfortable to sleep upright.

She had fallen asleep sometime after our chat about home and family, visibly tired. So I had let her be.

I remembered how her head had lolled side ways and then back wards as the sleep had overtaken her and some part of the cause on the water which was rocking the boat inconsistently beneath us.

I had caught her unstable head and guided it gently to my shoulder. She did not wake up at the motion, only settling in and getting comfortable on the offered shoulder.

I stared at her.

She was really beautiful. And she had a family she was missing and going back to. I envied her greatly.

That chance she had, I did not and would never have it.

It was gone.

I could only be granted a new family, build one, with my mate.

Where was he? When could I find my mate? I sighed.

"Our mate will be special Ellen," Kayla said to me. "He would come to us like a knight on shining armor with the brightest of eyes and the sweetest of smiles. He would be beautiful to behold, caring and loving. He would be the best thing that would ever happen to us Ellen. I know it."

"I hope you are right," I murmured softly as my mind went back to days ago.

I remembered looking into the eyes of my sister's mate, the Alpha.

I remembered throwing myself at him, and him taking me into his bed.

I remembered him taking my clothes off, exploring my body with his hands and mouth.

I remembered him owning me, filling me, bringing me the kind of pleasure that I could not measure, taking me over the edge.

I remembered him marking me.

I was not his.

He was not mine.

It should not have ever happened, but it had.

And it had been insane, I knew. But at that time I had done it for my currently ungrateful twin sister who was then a begging mess.

I had done it for Elena.

And she had meant to send me to an early grave, so quickly.

How cruel!

But I did not dare to think of her or of her mate who also wanted me dead just like that without having to hear nothing from me. He had swallowed the lies that she had fed to him so easily like a toddler who was forcibly being spoonfed.

It annoyed me.

I brought out my phone and unlocked it with my finger print. The motion caused my hand to shift and the head of the lady sleeping on my shoulder shifted slightly.

I reached out and positioned it again, helping her into a comfortable sleeping position. She snuggled in quite quickly and continued with her sleep.

I wondered what on earth she had been doing with herself that she was this tired.

She had not even stirred into consciousness once since she had fallen asleep.

I wondered yet again if she was hungry then remembered that she might have had the sense to have breakfast unlike me who had not made provision of any for myself before getting on the boat.

But it was not my fault.

I had been on the run and had not wanted to be caught.

My stupid stomach chose then again to grumble once more. I scolded it sternly in my head like it could hear me.

It seemed to me like I was slowly going mad, with hunger being one of the greatest contributors.

I laughed softly in amusement to the thoughts that roamed and occupied my mind. It was silly, all of it, silly enough for me to pin point something.

I was indeed not alright.

Something was wrong with me.

The boat approached the boat park and docked carefully.

We had arrived successfully at the Hyran pack. When it was alright, everyone began to alight. I shook Lydia awake because I could not carry her.

She woke after a moment of two of me trying, yawning widely.

"Where are we?" She asked. I stared at her in amusement. How would she know when she had slept away all of the journey? It was something that I could not do for i needed to watch my back and be vigilant. And once again, I envied her greatly.

"We have arrived at the Hyran pack," I simply told her. She stared around then a smile bloomed on her face.

"I am home Ellen," she said. "I have arrived my mother land."

"I am happy for you," I told her with envy, a good kind of one.

"Let us go," she nudged me in excitement and we began to leave the boat. We went unto the bank and I followed her out since she was familiar with the way.

"We shall soon part," i said just behind her. She halted and turned to look at me. She stared at me for a while before she spoke.

"Where are you going?" She asked me. I raised a brow at her. "Where are you heading to? I am heading for the capital?" She informed me.

"Oh!" I murmured in realization holding until my luggage. "I have no place in mind. It is my first time here."

"Follow me, I will take you around," she offered me. I accepted that offer with a smile and did as she asked.

We boarded a ride to the capital.

The Hyran pack was beautiful. Lydia showed me so many places and beautiful sights while we journeyed.

When we arrived at our destination, we came down from the ride with our luggage. Lydia did not let me pay for our transportation. I let her be and thanked her for her generosity.

When the vehicle left, she told me her place was nearby and we could stroll there while sightseeing.

I agreed.

We took a walk down the street and she showed me around and told me things about the Hyran pack.

When we turned into a close, she pointed happily at a building not far away, telling me that it was our destination, her home. It was the place where her brother, her family was waiting for her.

As we neared her home, i began to have a bad feeling. The restlessness grew more as i felt as i we were being followed.

Everything happened so fast.

Two gates away from the gate to her home, a van sped up to us and packed by our side. Six men came out of the purple van and seized me. I struggled with them as they tried to take me away.

Lydia screamed and tried to fight them off just like i was doing. I did not want to go back to that hellhole. I do not want yo return to the Harné pack and be a traitor to the crown.

I did not, and so I fought.

Suddenly, three men came out from no where and began dealing ruthlessly with my abductors. I was somehow freed and saved in the chaos.

The abductors were no match fro the three men who had come and soon they went into the I van and drove away.

I heaved a heavy sigh of relief as the van sped away, just as Lydia ran up yo me and hugged me so tightly, almost cutting off my air supply in an instant.

"I thought that I would loose you," she wailed as her embrace around me tightened. I patted her back as tears stung my own eyes too.

"I am sorry." I was apologizing for a lot, but more for the fact that I had some how exposed her to danger.
