Chapter 73: I WILL BE CAREFUL WITH IT
Dylan's POV
"Oh Ellen," I said as she finally stopped staring at me. "Is the excitement of the wedding too much for you?" I asked her with a happy grin. I had loved the wet kisses. But she said nothing, just looking at me with quite dreamy eyes. "Ellen?" I said with raised brows.
Then she said to me in a really soft and vulnerable voice, "Dylan, I love you." Before I could think, she kissed me on the lips softly and gently.
I enjoyed all her gentleness as she gave to me with her lips, it made me feel the emotions that she could not say to me. And when the kiss ended, I locked gazes with her and said, "Ellen, I would always love you, now and forever." She blushed, just the way I always liked it. I smiled tenderly.
"Thank you, Dylan," she said in a timid voice. Then my phone had vibrated on the bedside table and I had remembered all about Drake and the meeting. I had jumped off from the bed swiftly.
"Oh shit! I will be late to the damn meeting." She laughed.
"You are the Alpha, you can never be late. The meeting time is your arrival," she teased.
"Whatever, do take care the whole of today hmm?" I told her.
"I will," she promised me. And then I had gone to the damn meeting.
About an hour later, I was still in the meeting with the pack elders discussing pack affairs and a proposed new trade with another pack when my phone beeped. I reached for it and unlocked it. There was a new message.
It was from Ellen.
I hurriedly opened the photo while wondering what it was. It was of her in the wedding gown that I had chosen for her. She looked wonderful, magnificent. I had known that gown would be perfect for her.
I began to type a reply for her.
Ellen: Photo
Dylan: The gown is magnificent on you. You look splendid. I look forward to seeing it on you in person at the wedding. But what I look forward to the most is taking it off of you. Don't worry, I will not rip it off of you. I will be careful with it.
Then, I dropped my phone and returned back to the meeting, subconsciously waiting for her reply.
But It did not come.
Five minutes passed.
Ten minutes passed.
Then twenty and thirty and forty, still nothing. And then the meeting came to an end and I returned to the Palace with Drake.
I called her the moment I stepped out of the car, worried. She took the call on the fourth ring.
"Hey, beautiful," I said to her, all my worry instantly gone the moment she had taken the call.
"Hey, handsome," she had replied me in a shy voice, her voice barely a whisper. I chuckled lighty. Was she shy that I praised her beauty?
"How is your day going? Hope you are satisfied with how everything is going?" I questioned her as I walked to the pouch and sat on the swinging chair there.
"Everything is just in perfect order Dylan," she said languidly. Then, "Oh! I haven't shown you the cake yet. Let me quickly take a picture," she added in an excited squeal.
She took one, I heard her camera shutter click in the background. I heard tapping sounds and knew that she was sending it to me. I received it instantly. I opened the picture. The picture was good. I had been expecting that much from Samuel. He was a good one.
"Oh! Samuel did great. The cake design is marvelous," I agreed with her. "Are you done at the cake shop?"
"No, not yet. I just need to finalize some of the details with Samuel. I would like more flowers on this left part and a few other things." I did not see what other things the cake needed, but I kept my mouth shut.
"Oh, I see. But is this your last stop?" I asked her. "I miss you," I finally added after a short pause. I really did miss her. She laughed softly.
"No it is not. I still need to make a quick stop at the catering establishment. But it will not take long, I promise you. And I can't wait to get home and tell you about everything," she exhaled. Her excitement turned me on. I needed her, in my bed, tonight. Fuck all those superstitious about couples not seeing each other before the wedding. I would fuck her blind folded if I had to. Nothing would stop me.
"I can't wait to make you mine," I said to her in a low seductive voice.
"I can't wait either," she said to me after a pause in a shy whisper. I was sure she was blushing.
"Come home soon," I implored.
"I will. And I love you, Dylan." I smiled broadly. I always felt quite happy any time she told me that.
"I love you," I affirmed and dropped the call. I placed my hand on the left side of my chest where my heart was fluttering like crazy.
I was a gone man, who was crazy and hopelessly in love with my mate.
I walked into the palace and headed to my bedroom. I had a warm soak prepared for me and lazed around in it for about an hour or so. I got out then, refreshed, hoping to catch some sleep. But a knock on the door stopped me from climbing into bed. I wondered who it was.
"What is it?" I demanded.
"It is your servant my Alpha. I have only come to inform you that you have foreign visitors in your throne room. The Beta, Drake has received them on your behalf."
"I am on my way," I dismissed the servant. I wondered if they had come concerning the meeting we had had this morning and the reply we had sent to them.
I slipped into proper formal clothes and headed for the throne room.
There were three visitors sitting in the throne room. Drake was chatting with them. Two of the men stood at my appearance alongside Drake, but one remained seated. I batted an eye at his impudence but said nothing. I needed to know who he was that he was so arrogant.
"Welcome to the Kane pack," I said in a cold and unwelcoming voice to the seated man. "What brings you to this place because it seems to me that you do not come in peace," I told him.
"Alpha Dylan," he said to me, " of course we do."
"Ahh, I see," I replied with a rather sarcastic tone. He chuckled. "Please introduce yourselves and state your mission here."
"I am Alpha Sebastian. And this is my Beta, Zedd and my Gamma, Miller," he introduced pointing at each man as he did so. "And we are here for Ellen Evans, sister of Zedd Evans my beta."
I raised a brow at the three imposters because I was sure that Ellen had told me she was all alone in this world that she had no parents or siblings. They had all died.
"Which Ellen do you seek?" I asked them again.
"The one you are about to wed Alpha Dylan. She has unfinished business with me and my pack, the Harné pack," he told me.
I had heard of the Harné pack. It was quite a strong pack about three packs and a sea journey away from the location of the Kane pack.
"What do you want from her?" I asked them. They looked at each other and the Beta who they claimed to be Ellen's brother spoke.
"When Ellen comes, you shall hear what brought us here."
"Why?" I asked.
"We have no business with you Alpha Dylan or the Kane pack. We only have business with Ellen," the one who claimed to be Alpha Sebastian claimed in a furious voice.
