Chapter 67: IT WAS REALLY OVER FOR ME
Elena Evans
He turned to look at me one last time and blow me a kiss before he opened the door and let himself out.
I sighed softly the moment the door closed shut.
I was still annoyed at the fool who had brought that unnecessary message to our bedroom.
That scallywag!
It seemed like it was time for me to put my Luna power into action.
From this moment onwards, I would ban every individual from bringing news of every Tom and Dick and Harry to us while we were still in the bedroom unless someone was at the verge of death.
Well, that sounded like a good idea to me.
I giggled to myself as I slid out of bed and went to one of the seven suitcases that was sitting at a far corner of the bed room.
They were mine.
And I had my brother to thank for their presence.
My brother, Zedd had been the one who had moved most of -if not all of- my things to the palace during the wedding reception.
He had made sure a lot had gone as planned. I wondered how he and my father were coping at home without my presence.
It would sure be really quite at home with just the both of them.
But I did not actually care.
I was married now and I had a husband too. I did not have any spare time to accompany them any more.
Now I had to accompany my mate day and night alongside my wolf.
My marriage would be a wonderful one.
I could tell from the length of the smile which Sebastian had had this morning when he had roused from slumber.
I could tell from the gentleness with which he treated me.
I could tell from the way that we both coexisted in perfect symphony.
It was nice.
I leaned down and opened one of the three bigger boxes. I rummaged through the pile of neatly folded clothes for a while till I found a really suitable maroon dress in it.
I went to the half length mirror in the bed room and looked at myself, holding the dress in front of my body.
It was good alright. I would wear it. So I slipped into the dress and also into my soft house slippers.
I ran to the mirror to check myself out again. I thought about styling my hair again but decided not to for the one from last night was still kind of easy on the eyes.
I repaired it a bit and maintained the hair style.
I thought about waiting for a while for Sebastian to come. But he had already taken so long that i decided to go and see what the important thing that was keeping him away from me was.
Besides i could use that chance to greet my brother who was here.
I made my way out of the bedroom and headed straight for the throne room.
"-a shock to me when I discovered it was the Ellen that we all know," Miller's voice wafted into my ears from the throne room.
Or did I hear wrong?
I hurried into the throne room. My mate, his beta and his gamma was seated there. They froze in their conversation the moment I appeared afore them.
"Elena," Sebastian said to me. They had not been expecting me to walk in. Mayhap it was because they were talking about Ellen in my absence.
"I heard my twin sister's name," I said to them. "Zedd?" I asked again when none of them refused to speak.
"Ellen has been found, once again." I cursed her in my mind.
"Where is she?"
"She is at the Kane pack. Her marriage to Alpha Dylan was announced this morning. The messenger brought it to us."
Ellen? Marriage? To an Alpha?
How? Why? When?
How did this all happen?
Why did it all happen?
When had all these taken place?
"So you left me to come talk about my betrayal of a sister?" I snapped at Sebastian with all of the anger in me. My mate shook his head.
"No Elena, it is not-" I shook my head in disappointment as I interrupted him.
"Save it!" I snapped. "And leave me alone. Do not follow me!" I said as I stormed out of the throne room and back to the bedroom.
I shut the door firmly behind me and went to one of the luggage in the corner. I reached for a secret compartment and took out my burner phone.
I switched it on and called those stupid fools that I hired to watch and end Ellen at the appropriate time.
The call was taken on the third ring.
How useless!
"What on earth am I hearing?!" I snapped at the person on the other side. "Ellen is getting married? To an Alpha? What were you fools doing when all these was happening? Why was I not informed of any of this ongoings? Tell me!" I asked in anger. There was a slight pause.
"Miss, it was not intentional I swear. You asked us to watch her at the Hyran pack and wait for the best time to take her life and we did. But she was with that man all day and even at night and we could do nothing because he is indeed well guarded. We suspected he was someone of high rank so we did not dare to harm him. We decided to be patient. But we did not expect her to follow him to the Kane pack."
"And you did not end her there?" I snapped, livid with rage.
"He took her to the palace Miss. That was when we knew he was an Alpha. We gathered information from the staffs and found out that they were mates and the wedding was announced this morning. We wanted to tell you before that but your phone was not reachable miss."
"You are all just bunch of useless failures!" I said in regret. "You all are never able to do anything just right!" Then I kept the call and sat on the bed.
So it was actually true? My twin sister was going to get married to an Alpha? After everything?
She was going to become a Luna, just like me. How?!
What if when she became a Luna she would use her powers to come back at me and try to vindicate herself?
Everyone would listen to her then, her mate especially would believe her.
It would be over for me if that were to really happen.
I would not let it.
But what was I to do now?
I thought and thought but nothing came to mind.
It was over.
It was really over for me.
"I told you to leave her be," my wolf whispered to me. I frowned. Had this bitch decided to rear her ugly neck again?
"It is none of your business!" I snapped at her with venom.
"If your mate were to find out all if these things that you are doing Elena, he would hate you."
"Then I will make sure that he never finds out!" I told her and a light bulb went on in my head.
I could use my mate against her.
If I were to convince Sebastian to tell her mate these atrocities that I pushed unto her, he would hate her instead and it would be over for her.
I smirked evilly.
Her alpha and her marriage, gone.
I smiled to myself. Everything was never really over until it was actually over.
