Chapter 58: YOU OWE ME A LOT NOW
Ellen Evans
Everything.
It was all the work of fate, the meeting between my mate and I.
The moon goddess had brought us together, him and I.
All of the things that I had had to go through these pass through weeks must have been one of her many plans to unite me with my mate.
I was suddenly grateful to Elena for setting me up with her mate.
I was suddenly grateful that I had been accused and sent to prison.
If I had not been branded an imperial prisoner, I would have never escaped from prison, across the Harné pack border and i to all of this pack.
I would never have been on that boat, never have met Lydia, and never would I have come to the Harné pack.
I would have been far away, separated from my mate, living a life that would have been without him.
It would have been all wrong.
It would have.
As we walked to the place Drake awaited us, I thanked the moon goddess deep down, sincerely grateful.
Drake was there awaiting us when the both of us arrived at the agreed location. He was leaning on the black shiny car, wearing black sunglasses and holding unto the car key in his hands.
He bowed respectfully at Dylan the moment he noticed our presence.
"Good morning," I greeted him before he could speak.
"Good morning," he replied. "Everything is ready," he told Dylan who nodded.
"I expected that much. You are insanely capable Drake," my mate praised his Beta with a smile.
"It is nothing Alpha," he said as he opened the car doors. He held them open for Dylan to help me into the car seat. Then he held them open for Dylan to get into the car seat on the opposite side.
He shut the door after him.
Then, he went to the driver's side, opened the door and settled into the seat. He began to drive back to the house.
He put on the radio as we journeyed to the house. Dylan drew me close to him and gathered me into his arms.
I had realized that physical touch was one of his love languages.
"-the Harné pack." That snippet from the radio caught my attention and my ears piqued in curiosity.
What on earth was going on in the damn Harné pack?
It would not stop haunting me wherever I went, would it?
"-which is the imperial marriage between the Alpha of the Harné pack, Sebastian and his fiancee Miss Elena Evans the day after tomorrow," the voice on the radio continued, drawing me out of my series of thoughts.
Oh!
My twin sister and the Alpha were finally getting married.
It had been long enough.
Well, I was not jealous.
I too had found my Alpha mate and I would soon be married too.
Why would I be jealous?
I snuggled closer into my mate, inhaling that his rich scent. I loved how he smelled.
His fragrance could drive me crazy.
I did not listen to the news no more because my mind wondered to how my own wedding was going to me.
Dylan had said on the way to the car that we would be married quickly once we arrived at his pack.
I envisioned the kind of wedding gown that I would like to wear for my wedding.
I think I needed two because one was for the Luna coronation ceremony.
I think I would wear a white gown for the main wedding then a pretty silver gown for the Luna coronation ceremony.
Would the wedding be a large extravagant party or a small peaceful affair?
I guess part of that answer would be determined by my mate's mother.
Would I invite my own family? Maybe Zedd alone, no one else.
My sister would be enjoying her marriage to her mate then. She did not need to come.
"We are here," Drake's voice dragged me out if my train of thoughts. I allowed my mate to help me out of the car.
"Thank you Drake," my mate said to his Beta who bowed slightly to him.
"I have arranged your luggage Alpha. It would remain the Luna to get hers ready for departure," he said.
"We will do that now Drake," he promised his Beta and guided me towards the house. He helped me up the entrance stairs and into the front door.
"Oh, they are back!" Simon's voice came from the living room. He was seated on a couch holding the television remote in his hands and staring at us.
"Simon," Dylan began.
"Welcome home. I trust you and your mate had a nice time in wherever you took her to," he teased the both of us.
"It is none of your business," Dylan snapped at him.
"Come on, tell me Ellen, was it good? Was he good?" He asked. I blushed, quite embarrassed at his shamelessness.
"Keep a lid on your lip man!" Dylan scolded him harshly. Simon shut his mouth then and shrugged.
"I was just pulling your legs man!" He snapped back at Dylan. Then he went back to watching the program that he had been seeing before we walked in.
"Ellen!" Lydia said coming into the living room. "I heard Simon. Hope your night was good?" She asked me with a wink.
"Yes, it was," I said to her in a timid and embarrassed voice.
"That is good. Mum made breakfast for you guys. Come, come, come yo the dining room," she invited us as she took my hand and led me there.
"Thank you," I all but whispered as she led us there. Dylan followed behind us. I noticed that he and Lydia did not say one word to each other.
Karen was there in the dining room when we got there. She was holding unto a tray with a glass jug of what i guessed was that her homemade drink.
There was toast and fried eggs and bacon on two plates on the dining, laid out and arranged beautifully.
"I made you guys breakfast. Drake said you would soon be here," she said.
It still had steam going out if it. It was hot. So i assumed that she must have started making it after Drake had left the house to come pick us up.
"Good morning Karen," My mate and I greeted simultaneously. We looked at each other then and laughed.
Karen laughed too.
"Thank you children. I am hoping you had a so wonderful night under the moon lit sky, ehn?" she teased us.
"Yes, thank you aunt," Dylan answered for the both of us.
"Come and have breakfast. You need to eat before you leave for the Kane pack," she told us. "I am assuming that you are taking your mate along, are you not?" she inquired.
"I am aunt Karen. Thank you for breakfast," he said.
"Thanks for making us breakfast," I thanked her too.
"It is nothing kids. Lydia, come help me with those glasses," she said to Lydia.
"Yes ma," Lydia answered as she followed her to the kitchen, not before mouthing the words 'You owe me a lot now' to me.
I know that she was talking about me telling her what happened between me and my mate last night.
But, I indeed owed her a lot.
I knew.
After breakfast, I arranged my luggage mad we left for my mate's pack after bidding good bye to everyone.
There was Karen and her husband, Tom. Then Lydia and her mate Sarah and also Simon her brother.
Drake put my luggage in the trunk together we theirs and we got into the car.
And he drove us to the Kane Pack.
It was a long drive.
