Chapter 30: ELLEN WAS NOT ELENA

Ellen Evans
I did not know that Lydia could be a crybaby. She refused to stop crying even as I consoled her that nothing had or would have happened to me.

And she refused to let go of me which was quite troublesome too.

"Ladies, are you alright?" One of our three saviours asked. We had to disengage then. I was grateful instantly to whoever had made it possible for me to be freed from her tight arms.

"Yes, we are. Thank you for stepping in and saving us," I thanked him just as Lydia turned to him.

I noticed her eyes widen, round like saucer plates as she beheld him.

I turned to look at him. He too looked so astonished.

Why were the both of them so surprised to see each other? Did these two know each other from somewhere?

"Hello," I announced to draw them out of their respective trance of their meeting. It worked, snapping them out of whatever trance they were in together.

"Brother," Lydia said with so much happiness and enthusiasm in her voice.

Wait a minute?!

Did she just call one of our benevolent saviour her brother? As in the older brother that she had told me all about on the boat? While on the way here?

What are the chances?

I remembered we were close to the house she had earlier pointed at to me. And I assumed that all of what was going on, this brother on particular was because she had not mentioned the existence of any other brother to me on the way here.

"Lydia," he said with equal happiness, taking her in an embrace. Point of correction, she had run into his arms unsuspectingly and he had had to catch her in surprise.

It was a mutual embrace nonetheless.

"When did you get back? Why did you not call me that you have arrived?" He questioned her. "I went out to grab a few gifts for you, for your anticipated return," he said in a breath. She laughed as if he were silly.

"I have not gotten home. Well, I might have, but some bad men tried to take my friend away just now. Thank God you all were here to stop them," she explained to him gently.

"Ohh, alright, I thought you had gotten home and was going to leave again without saying goodbye to me," he purred as if he was in pain. She laughed again at his antics to guilt trip her.

"Oh dear, I am sorry for the last time. It was not on purpose Simon and you know it. It was unavoidable," she said to him with apologetic eyes and a pleading look.

"Alright, if you say so," he said to her. She nodded and embraced him again.

"Besides, I wanted to show you to my friend here. How could I disappoint her?" She told him. He turned to look at me then after processing the information and weighing if she was or was not lying to him.

"Who is your friend? She is gorgeous," he complimented me with a smile. I smiled too at his words.

"I am Ellen," I said to them all in introduction. He nodded.
"I am Simon."

"It is really nice to meet you, Simon. Lydia has told me quite a lot about you," I began. "Besides, thank you for the compliment, but you do not need to flatter me because of Lydia," I said to him with another smile.

"I would never dare to flatter you. You are indeed gorgeous," he reaffirmed his earlier words to me. It made me blush, blood filling my cheeks. I hoped that it was not that bad. I do not blame myself for reacting. I had not been told that I was beautiful by anyone other than family.

And the Alpha, Prince Sebastian.

That night, he told me that I was very beautiful. But he may have been saying that to his mate and not to me.

Ellen was me.

Elena was her.

Ellen was not Elena.

Thought we had the same facial features, we were nothing like each other, nothing at all. We were so different.

I think that he had instantly realized that after he had fucked me so good that i was still much unwilling to forget all about that sensational night.

But forget I must.

That night I must put behind me.

It was compulsory.

And putting it behind me was what I was currently doing and succeeding. I would not let any bit of my stupid past destroy my bright future in any way.

My future was in my control.

It was now the time to forget Prince Sebastian and that ungrateful witch of a twin sister that I had.

Back to reality.

Down to earth Ellen.

"Thank you for the sincere compliment," I told Simon.

"Do not mention," he told me with a smile. I nodded because I was not going to bother any more. "Guys, this is my sister," he introduced Lydia to his two companions, out saviors earlier.

"Hi! I am Lydia," she said to them, "and this is my friend Ellen. She is new here."

"Welcome to Hyran Pack Ellen," he told me. I murmured a thank you while he turned to his two friends and introduced them with a hand gesture to either of them. "This is Pascal and this here is Drake." Pascal was a golden blonde and Drake was a tall well-built guy. Those were their most outstanding features.

"You are handsome Pascal. I hope we become friends like my brother," Lydia said to him with a friendly shake. He smiled and nodded as if to say possibly.

"Nice to meet you Pascal. I am Ellen," I said as he stretched his hand to me. I took it and clasped it in mine for a hand shake. His palm was hard and masculine, big and broad, encompassing mine.

"The pleasure Ellen is all mine," he said as I withdrew my hand from his palm. He nodded and I paid my attention to the other person, Drake who nodded at me with a half-smile.

"Smile more Drake," Lydia said to him with that her infectious smile. He smiled back, a little curve of his lips. He smiled as if he had forgotten how to smile. "You can do better," Lydia pestered him. I decide to save him from her.

"He may not use to doing that Lydia," I told her. "Now do not pester him," she pouted but let him off. "Nice to meet you Drake," I said to him, taking his palm too in a friendly handshake. His palm was bigger, calloused, encompassing the whole of mine in its depths.

"It is nice to make you acquaintance too,” he told me. I nodded. We disengaged our hands and i turned to Lydia.

"Well, that should be all for the introductions, let us go in. I need to announce my arrival to the rest. They must miss me too," she chanted. Simon laughed and nodded.

"Let us go in and tell mum and dad." She nodded and linked hands with me. Then, all of us went inside the house.
