Chapter 33: I LIKED HIM

**Ellen Evans**

Lydia was staring straight at me with that look that said: Oh girl, when on earth did all of this happen! Her brows were raised so high on her forehead in a questioning approach that I simply felt that those her forehead nerves would suffer right after and hurt her.

"What is happening here?" She asked me with curious eyes. Those same eyes dared me to tell a lie and see what on earth was going to happen to me after that.

"I- I found, I- I," I stammered unable to speak. I was too nervous to do that at this point in time.

"Do not frighten my mate," my mate said to her in a stern voice, coming quickly to my defense. She chuckled.

"Wow!" She screamed. "Is he really?" she asked me. "Is he truly your mate Ellen?" I nodded in answer to her question. "Girl, you are so in luck!" she said to me. She wanted to take my hands, I noticed, but my mate hugged me tighter, a subtle declaration that I was his, I belonged to him and no one could touch me.

I did not even know his name yet. And we had just had our mouth inside the other's mouth without any form of introduction whatsoever.

It was thrilling.

"Is your name Ellen?" He asked me turning to me. I stared at him as I nodded. His dark gaze that rested on me caused heat to travel through my body as fast as the lightning bolt.

"I am Ellen," I told him. "Nice to meet you, my mate," I added the last two words after a small pause.

"I am Dylan," he said to me. "I am thrilled to meet you Ellen. I have waited for you for a long time." His words caused my heart to race quickly, caused my body to grow hot with need and caused my cheek and entire chest to color red.

"When shall I see my mate?" I heard Lydia lament. She had yet to find her other half? I had not known.

"Are you from the Hyran pack?" Dylan asked me. I shook my head. "Then where are you-" I interrupted him immediately because I did not want to lie to him in any way, especially when we just met.

"Are you from Hyran?" I asked him. He shook his head too.

"I am not. I am from the Kane pack," he said to me. "It is almost west of the Hyran pack."

"Is the Kane pack pretty? Did you come from there? Are you going back there?" I questioned him in a breath.

"Easy with the questions," he said to me with a laugh. The sound was soothing and clear, pleasing. He was a gorgeous man with a hearty laughter.

I liked him.

A phone ringing somewhere called my attention away from his face. The guilty electronic device was in Drake's hands. He looked at the caller ID and looked up at Dylan. Then he said, "Alpha."

I stared in surprise.

He was an Alpha? My mate was an Alpha? If he was from the Kane pack then he was the Alpha of the Kane pack.

"Alpha," Drake said again, " I think the ex Luna wants to speak to you," he informed him.

"Drake, my mother can wait. She has nothing to say to me after all," he told Drake. "Please keep the phone away, on do not disturb mode, I do not want any form of distractions tonight."

"Yes, Alpha," Drake said to him respectfully and put the device away in his pocket after tapping a few times on the screen. I guessed that he was putting it on do not disturb mode.

"Let us all go in and sit. I do not still understand why we are standing on ceremony because you found your mate who happens to be my sister's friend that she made on her way home here," Simon suddenly said. Lydia laughed softly at his words but I knew she agreed with him.

"Let us go in and sit down," Dylan said to me in a whisper close to my ears. "Hmm?" He finished. I nodded. He led me by the waist towards the house after Simon and his sister Lydia. Drake followed behind us.

When we got into the house, Karen was  there in the living room arranging some glasses of cocktail unto one of the living room serving tables. She looked up and saw us the moment she noticed our presence.

"Where were you all? I made you all cool drinks," she asked. I really needed one of that cold liquid to quench the fire that was raging in me.

"We were out at the front of the house," Lydia began to tell her. "Dylan came around and he found his mate."

"Dylan is here?" Karen asked with her eyes revolving around us. Then she saw him and a smiled appeared on her face.

"Hello Karen," he greeted her warmly.

"Come over here and hug me," she welcomed him warmly. He left me reluctantly and went to do just as she had asked him. She embraced him for a moment and then let go of him. "How are you?" She asked him.

"I am doing fine."

"How was your journey?"

"It was good. My mother sends her regards to you."

"Greet her for me when you get back. Tell her to try to visit me."

"I will Karen."

She nodded. "Good. Come, come and have some of this cocktail I made. You can have mine. I made them according to the number of persons on ground." She picked one and handed it to him. He tool it from her with a grateful smile.

"Thank you Karen." He lifted the glass to his lips and tasted it. He sighed softly. "It is wonderful Karen. It tastes good as always," he praised the drink.

"Thank you."

"Mum, you never treat me like this," Simon complained.

"You are not Dylan. That is the difference," Karen snapped at him. But, I heard the love in her voice.

"Mum," Lydia complained also. "I said Dylan has found his mate and it is Ellen. You did not hear that part. You only heard Dylan because you were not laying attention to anything that I had said."

Karen looked shocked and then happy as she stared from me to Dylan.

"Is that true?" She asked looking at the both of us. I nodded.

"Yes Karen. Ellen is my mate," Dylan said to her. She covered her mouth as a squeal of happiness left her.

"Finally! You have Lydia to thank fit bringing her back home. Pour Ellen had no where to go to. I offered her here as a home," she continued. "I never knew that she would be yours."

"Yes Karen, she is beautiful and mine," Dylan told her with a smile.

"This calls for a party! Come Ellen, I need to hold you in my arms," she told me. I went up to her shyly and allowed her to embrace me. "You are welcome to the family Ellen."

"Thank you Karen," I said to her as I was overwhelmed with the feeling of finally finding a family of my own.
