Chapter 9: I LOVED SEBASTIAN
**Miller Davies**
"Let me put on more suitable clothes," the prince said to me.
"Yes My prince," I said with that mocking sarcasm that earned me a direct savage look from him that spelt the word KILL. I laughed. "Alright, alright, I will stop doing that. Go do as you say."
"Wait for me a while. I shall soon be back." And then he was gone, leaving me standing in his throne room.
I sought myself a seat, one that allowed the throne to not be in my direct line of sight.
I hated to look at the expensive and powerful furniture.
It had not been so before, starting only days ago when I had found out that my current girlfriend, Elena who I adored so much was Sebastian's mate.
Had it hurt?
It had hurt so badly when Sebastian himself had broken the happy news to me but sad news for me.
I loved Elena.
But, there were things that I could not do, should not do, to Sebastian.
I and the prince had been brought up in the palace, together. I had been sent in from another park as a peace treaty during a war.
I had been only ten then, taken away from my mother who had committed a crime while trying to feed me.
Sending me as a hostage to the Harné pack was her punishment.
I had been escorted from my pack and brought to the Harné pack, and the unending war between the two packs ended with my arrival.
The late Alpha who had been Prince Sebastian's father had actually welcomed me with a broad smile, charming eyes, open arms and a pure heart.
And so had Prince Sebastian.
Sebastian and I had instantly become good friends upon introduction. And though I had been sad to be parted from my mother, he made me forget.
The prince was lonely.
I, Miller was also lonely in the Harné palace.
Our affinity had grown, broad and vast as our friendship burgeoned into what it was now.
I had lived here, in this very place, the Harné palace from then onwards.
And over the years, the Prince treated me just like a brother and the king treated me just like a son.
And being older, I realized just why the king who had a good heart had agreed to end the war if my pack provided a lad as a peace treaty.
He had not wanted his son to be alone.
He had sought to find a companion for him as even the prince had no mother.
Just like I did not.
Another thing that had brought the both of us together.
Our shared motherlessness.
And, a companion I had been to the prince, then and now, an extremely loyal one, till this very moment.
When I had traveled to my pack sometime ago when I had come off age, I learnt that my mother had died in prison, the place where she had been paying for her crime.
My heart had hurt a little.
Maybe, if maybe I had not been taken away from her, she might have never met her demise.
When I had returned and relayed the news to Prince Sebastian and his father, the Alpha, they had consoled me.
The King had felt as if our separation was his fault though.
And he had granted me the title of Gamma as compensation from taking me away from my only family for so long.
I loved Sebastian.
He was like my brother.
But, there was some things that I couldn't let go.
Such as Elena.
Elena was mine and I thinking of any way to keep it being so.
I was not ready to lose her yet, not to the prince.
Elena was not my mother.
Elena was my life.
And I wanted to keep it that way.
The sound of a voice, that of Prince Sebastian shouting crassly at a servant in the corridors brought me back to reality.
"Keep news of that damn woman out if my ears!! I want to hear nothing of her until the day of her trial. Do you understand me?" He bellowed again.
I heard a meek, "yes, my prince." I almost thought the servant was a rat judging by the tiny squeak.
"Move out of the way for me," he demanded. And then I heard his footsteps again, coming closer.
He was back.
I stared at him as he walked into the throne room and up to me.
He was handsome.
What woman would not want him?
Elena's twin sister had been so obsessed that she had dared to climb into his bed pretending to be Elena.
If I was Ellen, I would probably do that too. Every woman deserved a taste of something as good as him.
He was tall and big, his strides arrogant and powerful as he walked up to me.
His aura was daunting, yet I knew he was soft behind all those bars of iron he put up as a barrier.
Silly man!
"How is my clothes?" he inquired of me, the irritation from the servant he had just yelled at had yet to leave his face and eyes at the moment.
"If you ask me, they look just right for a sprint." He had changed out of his formal attire and was now in comfortable clothes. He nodded.
"Good, then, let's proceed to whatever place you have in mind."
"Come on then, lend me a hand up," I said with a small pout, a little bit too lazy to lift myself.
"Is your head broken? Shall I fix it with my fists?" He asked me. I could not help the laughter that escaped me wholeheartedly. Sometimes this man knew just how to be sarcastic and funny at the same time.
"No it is not broken. And even of it is, I would not ever ask you to fix it for me," I infirmed him. "Sebas," I added after a second thought, knowing just how much he hated to be called that stupid nickname as he always said.
"Do not call me that!" He snapped at me instantly flaring up. I dared not laugh nut I kept a mischievous smile on my face.
"Then I think it is my prince for me?" I asked playfully.
"Whatever shit that you deem fit," he finally said after a moment of silent contemplation.
"Then I deem Sebas-"
"Shut it!" That was when I laughed as I stared at him who was pointing his fingers warningly at me.
"Ok, alright, I am wrong. I am sorry. Now shall we go sprint?"
"That is something that you should have said a long time ago. Let us leave shall we?" He asked
"Of course my prince," I said as we both began to head out.
"Where are we going?" He asked me as we left the palace walls.
"Just follow me," I assured him. We walked for a while as I took him through a short cut through the woods at the back of the palace.
He followed me obediently, and diligently, also silently till we arrived at an open clearing that ended in a beach.
"Oh, it was here," he said to me. "I always can not remember which road you take here," he pointed out.
"Well, that is because-"
"-you change the route each time to prevent me coming back here. So I have to rely on you to bring me here," he completed for me.
"Okay, you got me," I said as I raised hands in surrender.
"Yeah, just the way I also got the route this time."
"Nice shot," I chuckled, "But it was I who let you pay attention so that you can come back here anytime that you ever wanted." He looked at me.
I began to take off my clothes till I was completely naked.
He just stood saying nothing.
"You do not want to sprint again?" I asked him. "Or are you so taken in by the beauty of my nakedness?"
"Eww," he laughed in a playful way. "Maybe some other man Miller. But not you," he informed me.
"Whatever, but you don't know what you're missing out on," I said flexing my abs at him. He shrugged in a very nonchalant way.
"Nothing to miss Miller, honest."
"I hate you."
"Tell me something I don't already know," he said as he began taking off his own clothes.
We stood naked for a while looking at each other but not seeing each other because we were lost in our thoughts.
"First to go round!" I suddenly yelled as I shifted. He groaned behind me as I began the sprint while he was still trying to shift.
"You cheat!" He mind linked me the moment he caught up. My wolf, Gad chuckled. "I'll whip your flat ass!"
"Say something you can do!" I mind linked back to his wolf, Jayden as the wind hit my skin with my quick movement.
"We shall see about that Miller," he promised.
And oh he kept it!
