Caleb

My mother and sister were only too happy to have me back, but I missed her. I checked in with Ryan and found out that Catherine was already on her way back to New York. Before I went to bed Max let me know, Nathan already spoke to Holly and Catherine didn't see or meet Lacy. That night I dreamt of her.

I left around nine for my office. It's been two years since I've been here in the building. Everyone did a double take when they Saw me. I was wearing my wedding ring proudly.

By Ten that morning a picture was already online and people were speculating as to whether it was a legitimate wedding ring or just for show. When Ryan walked into my office,he threw a file at me.

“ I've been fielding calls all day Because you “ ,he said, dropping himself down onto my couch.

“ Mr DaSilva, is It true? Is Mr Cross really married? Is this a publicity stunt?”he said, holding his head. I couldn't help but smirk.

“ Let them keep wondering “ , I said. I went on with my day, busy with meetings.

By four that afternoon,the internet was going crazy. Apparently someone spotted Catherine wearing a wedding ring and now they're assuming I got married to her. This fucking woman wasn't going to stop. Ryan was looking at me as I read the crazy theories posted online.

“ She's going to see this . What do you intend to do about it?” Ryan asked me.

“ I'll tell the truth. Set up an interview for tomorrow morning. I'll speak to her tonight and let her know ”. I said

When I got home,my mother was waiting for me.

“ Caleb, this girl isn't going to stop. Your sister texted Aria , Aria said she doesn't believe it and she's not worried. By some miracle you found a reasonable and sane woman that trusts and believes you ” ,My mother said looking at me.

“ I Know. I'm going to speak to her. I'm going to do an interview tomorrow and put it all out there. Let everyone know what Catherine has been up to. I won't give anything on her though ” , I said looking at my mother.

“ Okay, that's good. Go speak to her and then come down to dinner “ , she said walking away.

I headed over to my side of the house . The minute I was there, I Called her. She answered immediately.

“ I miss you ” , That was the first thing she said.

“ I miss you too, baby girl. I know you saw it ,hell everyone has” , I said

“ It doesn't bother me Caleb, Honestly. I know the truth and the people that matter to us know. I trust you and you trust me that's all that matters ”, she said quietly.

“ Thank you for trusting me baby , have you eaten?” , I asked her.

“ No ,we just got in and I'm sure you haven't either. Go shower and have dinner. I'm okay I promise ” ,she said

“ I love you, baby girl I do” ,

“ I love you too Caleb. I'll speak to you tomorrow”.

“ Okay baby ”.

Aria

I ended the call and laid in bed. Holly came and laid next to me.

“ Stalker man okay?”. She asked me

“ Yeah he's fine. He's worried about me. He knows I saw the articles online.” I said, turning my head looking at her.

“ You worried?”, she asked

“ No” , I said and that was the truth.

“ Good because according to Ryan , Caleb's crazy about you. This is the first time he's ever been this gone over someone” , she said

“ Yea and Ryan's nuts about you” , I said, pushing her.

“ Shut up. You want lasagna or steak for dinner?”,.She asked sitting up.

“ I admire your enthusiastic desire to make dinner but you can't cook for shit Holly. I'll make dinner ” , I said laughing.

When we opened the cafe the next morning it was calm and quiet. Grace, Holly,Mya and I were chilling out. I fired Cassy. I didn't want her around me . Grace saw her and Lacy the other day whispering and we figured she was up to something so I got rid of her.

Around ten , the cafe was full; it seemed like every woman in Payson was in the cafe. We were looking at each other.

“ Oh shit” , I heard Mya say, grabbing the remote for the TV and changing Channels.

“ There it is ,Go back “, I heard Celeste shout.

When I looked at the TV , I was caught off guard for a moment.

“ Cross is giving an interview, about the shit we saw on the net” , I heard someone say. I didn't look at anyone.

“ God damn that man is hot and imagine he used to sit in this Cafe everyday for weeks. We had it good ” , I heard someone say.

“ Shut up and turn the volume up”. Gertrude said.

Interviewer: Today we have an exclusive interview with the one and only Caleb Cross. I've badgered Mr Cross for an interview for many years and he has refused. But today he's here and we'll have all the answers we want.

Caleb: Not all the answers

Interviewer: Okay we have to know. The ring?. Real or Fake

I looked at the TV. He raised his hands looking at it.

Caleb: It is real. I recently got married

Interviewer: My my my,you seem happy. Your Ex Ms Davidson was spotted wearing a ring also . Will you confirm that she is Mrs Cross ?.

Caleb : That is the reason I'm here to clarify some things.

Interviewer: So she is Mrs Cross?

Caleb: No. Catherine Davidson is a mentally unbalanced Woman who is obsessed and honestly dangerous.

Interviewer: Why do you say that?

Caleb : After a relationship ends, normally you move on. In most cases you're sad and depressed for a while.

Interviewer: That is correct ,who hasn't suffered from a broken relationship?

Caleb: In this case that is not what happened. Everyone has been wondering why I disappeared out of sight.

Interviewer: We have and everyone has their own theory as to why.

Caleb: Catherine Davidson is the reason. After our relationship ended, Catherine became obsessed. She stalked me showing up wherever I went ,she barged into my home because I refused to speak to her. Every relationship after Catherine ended because of her obsessed and manic behaviour. Every single woman after her ,got stalked and hurt.

Interviewer: oh god Lord

Caleb: That's not the worst. I keep my private life private. She accosted my sister on the road and hit her. Warning her to stay away from me because I belong to her. Everyone knows Who Catherine Davidson is , daughter to billionaire Jeffrey Davidson, so She has lackeys to do her dirty Job.

Interviewer: So why now? After all this time?.

Caleb: Because I wasn't sure I would find someone as special as my wife. Now that my wife is in the picture I'll stop at nothing to protect her. So when it comes down to my wife or Catherine I'll do whatever I have to in order to protect my wife from Catherine.

Interviewer: So you're saying there's a possibility that Ms Davidson is Going to hurt Mrs Cross .

Caleb: Of course. Before I returned to New York. I was busy going to different countries and different states within the United States . My last stop was in Payson Arizona where Catherine found me.

Interviewer: Payson Arizona,why there.

Caleb: I was looking for an ideal place to Build a resort. She came into the cafe that I was at and made it clear I was hers. When I left she was questioning the owner of the cafe.

I saw him pull his phone out and put it on the table. When he pressed it , I heard the recording of my conversation with Catherine. Everyone turned to look at me. I raised my hand.

“ Mr Cross’s friend asked if we had a camera in our office. He asked for the recording of that “ , I said hoping they bought it.

“ You Did good Sweetie, let's see that crazy woman try to get out of this now ”. Gertrude said, turning back towards the tv.

Interviewer : How did you get this, Mr Cross?

Caleb: I had my friend return to the cafe and speak with the owner. The people of Payson are Very friendly,if you're not screwing around with them. I explained the situation to one of them so I'm sure everyone already knows why I spoke to Catherine the way I did.

Interviewer: Well we weren't expecting this. And Mrs Cross? How does she feel about all this?

Caleb: She understands, My wife trusts me and until I handle this situation with Catherine. My wife's identity will remain a secret.

Interviewer: Okay tell us a bit about this amazing wife of yours.

He started smiling.

Caleb : Well , she's a millionairess, she has successful Company Which she and her sister Started and her company is known for its outstanding performance. She is smart, beautiful,kind, extremely brilliant and most of all Loyal. She Is the first and only woman I've ever considered making my wife. The minute I saw her I knew without a doubt she would be Mrs Cross.

Interviewer: Where did you meet?

Caleb: while I was travelling.

Holly and I were looking at each other. we looked back to the tv

interviewer: This is and interesting turn off events

Caleb: This is the only way. Mr Davidson will do everything to protect his daughters imagine amd his business prospects. me I'm trying to protect my wife. I will say this now. I know Catherine is watching this. so This is your one and only waring Catherine. Stay away from me ,my wife and my family. if you don't stop then I'll destroy you and everyone that tries to protect or defend you and I won't stop until you understand. Either you end up behind bars, in a mental Asylum or Dead. it's your choice Catherine.
