Chapter 39

Jason

His sister just smirked at me. Why the Fuck was she smirking at me?. After his mother made everyone coffee. I told them what happened from the time she was found until we brought her back. I wasn't going to say shit about me putting a few bullets in those fuckwads.

His father sat quietly listening.

“ She's going to need therapy ,a whole lot of therapy. Amanda I know you and I know you'll want to ask . Don't,that goes for you too you little brat. “ , he said

“ I didn't even say anything”.
I saw him walking into the kitchen, he grabbed a cup and took some coffee.

“ The doc Gave her something to sleep. We were supposed to be happy. Me going back and forth to see her. Catherine wasn't supposed to be a big problem. Where the Fuck Benson turned up from god fucking knows “.

He threw the cup into the wall. Okay he has a nasty fucking temper.

“ Well that's life Bro. You plan on smooth sailing and God says nope,not yet he throws a storm in your sails. Go eat and go stay with her. And clean that shit up cause I'm not cleaning it Caleb” ,his sister said walking out of the kitchen.

“ She needs a therapist “ , I Said

“ I'll get her one when she's ready”.

We all heard the screaming, His sister ran back into the kitchen and looked at us. He ran, knocking over the chairs and I was behind him. When we rushed into the room she was asleep and screaming and fighting off someone. His sister rushed past him.

“ Move Caleb, don't touch her”.

She got into the bed with her ,she didn't touch her.

“ It's Just a dream Aria, You're okay. You're safe. It's me , it's Cindy. Come on wake up,Time to wake up now. It's okay, Don't be scared it's just a dream it can't hurt you”. She said quietly to her. I saw her eyes start opening, when she saw Caleb ,she jumped off the bed and held onto him and Cried

Fuck this was destroying her , she's not the Same girl I met two days ago.

“ I've got you baby girl, its okay ”.

We left them in the room and went outside. I looked at his sister.

“ How Did you know?”.She shrugged her shoulders.

“ A friend of mine used to have nightmares. And whenever we woke her up and if we touched her it became worse. She Then explained that when she's in that state and she gets touched it makes the nightmares feel a thousand times more real”.

“ I see . My father knows about her”.

“ What ?” ,

I explained what my father said to me.

“ I don't understand this. If she wasn't afraid of him then who was she afraid of and why?”. Amanda asked.

“ That's what I aim to find out and get to the bottom of this shit. I'm heading home. I need to speak to my father. Tell Caleb I'll be back on Saturday in the meantime I'll have someone look for a therapist “.


Caleb

All she did was cry.

“ Please, stop crying baby girl please. I can't see you like this”.

“ You left me , they came after you left me” ,she said through tears. I knew that was what she was afraid of.

“ And I'm sorry baby, I won't leave again I promise. You need to eat something “.

She just shook her head

“ You need to eat Aria. Holly and Gertrude are going to be mad at me if I don't take care of you “.

She didn't answer. I pulled my phone out and texted Cindy,she said ten minutes. I picked her up and took her to the bathroom and gave her a shower. Her body was covered in black and blue bruises. After her shower,I redid the bandages that she had on and took her back to bed.

Cindy knocked and came in with a tray. She handed it to me and didn't say anything. She just left. I fed her the soup and made her lie down.

“ They Just….. everytime I close my eyes,I can hear their voices,I can see Their eyes…… they started laughing..” ,she said on a sob.

“ It's okay baby “

“ No , it's n.n.not . I was r..r.raped w.when pp.. people find out they'll laugh at you. II..I don't want to live”.

I sat up and looked at her.

“ If you ever do anything that takes you away from me , I swear to God I'll join you. Be it heaven or hell Aria. I'm serious. Do you know if you ever do something like that? How much it would destroy me , destroy Holly, is that what you want?”.

She didn't say anything, she just cried. I laid next to her and held her.

“ I'll get you a therapist because you need it. You don't have to talk about it anymore. Not unless you want to and no matter what happens baby girl, I'll always want you always “.

Aria

I felt lost and useless. I felt tainted and didn't want to live. He didn't want to hear that. While we were locked hiding in that utility room,I was terrified that they would find us ,they would find me and hurt Holly.
He left and then they came. I know it was irrational but I didn't want to be without him. He just held me as I drifted off to sleep.

The next day around one, Amanda came out into the room with another woman. Caleb looked at me.

“ This is Pamela Geirs. She's a therapist. She's here for you. I'll be back. I'll be right outside okay “ ,

“ Okay”.

After he left the woman looked at me, She looked like she was in her forties.

“ Whatever is spoken here won't be heard outside of this room. All I know is Your name is Aria. Why don't you tell me about yourself “.

“ Nothing much to tell”.

“ Do you enjoy your Job?”.

“ I do ”

“ What do you do ?”.

“ I own Onyx Software company with my best friend. I own a cafe in Payson Arizona”.

“ Onyx is a reputable company.”

“ I was kidnapped and raped ”,I said looking at her to see her reaction. Her reaction never changed.

“ Feel like you want to end your life, don't you?. Feel useless and unworthy, Tainted and damaged. I felt Those things too. Only difference is it was someone close to me that hurt me.”

I broke down and began crying.

“ Why me ?What did I do to deserve this? Why me ?”.

“ Nothing. I've had Many patients ask me the same thing. Why me ?. I've even asked myself the same thing too and you know what I came up with? ,a whole bunch of nothing. Caleb?”. She asked me.

“ I love Caleb but now. How can he still want to be with me ? People will talk.”

She didn't say anything

“ Everytime I close my eyes I can see their eyes,hear them laughing as they rape me. I feel disgusted for allowing it to happen “.

Caleb

I left her and went downstairs. I made some calls and replied to some emails. I called Jason and checked in with him. I checked the time and saw the one hour was almost up. I headed back upstairs, just as the therapist was walking out of the room. I saw my mother walk into the living room.

“ I suggest your mother and sister speak to her. She feels like they'll hate her”.

“ Oh god no. I'll speak to her now ” my mother said walking into the room. The woman stood looking at me.

“ I'm not supposed to do this but there's the look of desperation in your eyes. She feels like you're trying to let her down softly that you're not really sure you still want her. ”

“ But I do want her ”

“ Then prove it to her. Her problem is basically feeling like she's no longer worthy of being with you and people will humiliate you and your family. Her nightmares won't stop right away but it'll take some time. Her fear is being away from you”.

“ Thank you “.

After she left. I stood outside my room in the living room. My mother walked out and left without saying a word. When I walked into the room she was just sitting on the bed.

I walked over and sat next to her and held her hand .

“ I want you to understand me when I say this in all seriousness Aria. I love you and I'm not going anywhere and neither are you. I don't care what people say or think. Nothing has changed for me , you're still the same woman I fell in love with okay”.

She didn't say anything.

“ No one Sees you differently, believe me because I don't “.

“ Okay”.
