Chapter 48

Catherine

It was finally happening , it was time to assert myself as Mrs Cross then I'll deal with his mother, especially this little bitch of a sister that he has. I know they don't like me . I parked the car and made my way over to them. I plastered a genuine smile on my face.

“ Hello Mrs Cross,Mr Cross,Cindy ”

“ Yea whatever, let's go Caleb I'm tired as hell” ,his sister said ignoring me and walking up the stairs of the jet.

“ Caleb we need to get married ”, I said hoping he would agree. His sister stopped and looked at me.

“ We will ” Caleb said with a smile, He was smiling with me ,Finally.

We were on the jet heading to Payson. My mother and father sat opposite me , Catherine sat next to me. She tried touching me multiple times but I avoided it. Cindy was sitting on the other side just smiling that creepy smile she always had when she was up to some shit.

“ Caleb , I'm going to head to the cafe . Holly needs me”, Cindy said, starting it. Catherine looked at me immediately.

“ Umm Where are we going Caleb ”?.

“ Payson Arizona, My father isn't well and the doctor said he needed peace and quiet. I Also have to take care of business” ,I answered,not looking at her. She started shifting.

“ Can't we ummm, can't we go somewhere else ”?, she asked hesitantly.

“ No. And if you don't want to be there then we'll forget this ever happened and the jet will take you back to New York “.

“ No ,no I didn't mean that ”, She said quietly.

She wasn't going anywhere,as long as it meant she wouldn't get a chance to be with me she wasn't going to take any chances. When we landed in Payson it was eleven in the morning. Ryan was waiting and so was Holly.

Holly walked over to us and hugged us.she walked over to my mother and Cindy and linked her arms through theirs and started talking. Catherine was left standing there. Ryan looked at me and smirked.

“ Catherine, you ,Cindy and Mom will Ride with Holly. Dad Ryan and I will take the other car”. I said walking towards Ryan,She looked like she wanted to say something but thought better of it.

We got into the car and left them standing there.

“ Boy I hope you know what you're doing “ ,my dad said looking at me.

“ I know Dad . Did Holly inform the girls?”

“ Yep. Mya and Grace are gunning for her neck. Holly confided in Mya and Grace about everything. She tried calling you but the phone is off. Gertrude Called Mya personally. She's already there , she's with her and said everything is okay ”. He said, looking at me.

“ Okay that's good “.

“ Also , Matthews and What's his name? Arch , The guy who married you and Aria knows the situation. He'll be coming over around one with the Licences to make it believable “.

Holly

On the drive over to Caleb's place, the demented Bitch was quiet,she looked like she would jump out of the car at any moment.

“ What fun stuff is there to do here Holly”?.

“ Well let's see. The cafe is always full and full of gossip. There's always drama in there. Right now everyone in Payson is alert. I mean, with what happened to Aria set everyone on edge”. I Said looking at Catherine in the rearview mirror and I caught the slight smile she had on her face.

“ It's so sad she's gone. She was a good daughter-in-law” , Amanda said.

“ She was. There's even more drama right now. Lacy I don't know if you know about her but She's missing and so is Aria's ex boyfriend. Lacy was one of the girls he cheated on Aria with and they've both disappeared”.

“ Oh , aren't the police looking for them?”. Cindy asked.

“ Yeah, Chief Matthews is looking but everyone has noticed that anyone that has hurt Aria in any way their lives have started to become miserable ”. I said as I pulled into Caleb's driveway. I parked and turned around and looked at Catherine.

“ Welcome to Payson Catherine. It will take a while before people warm up to you, just show them that you're genuine and soon you'll have friends ”. I said, smiling at her.

“ Okay “. She answered quietly

“ Cindy, Amanda you guys be careful there's someone that's been breaking into Houses and scaring the shit out of people. Someone broke into Caleb's place luckily no one was here “. I said in all seriousness.

“ We will Holly, you're such a sweetheart ”, Amanda said, patting my cheeks.

We pulled up to the house and got out. Catherine came over and stood next to me.

“ I don't want to stay here,You had someone else here before me” ,She said in a whiny voice.

“ Oh then you can leave ”, I said walking into the house “.

If she actually thought she had any opinion or any right here she was absolutely fucking wrong. This house was just for her to torment her ass. I've already got Josh and his crew preparing to build another house for me. A bigger one for everyone especially for when she gets back.

I headed up the stairs and I felt her behind me.

“ Which room is ours Caleb?”

I pointed to the room on the far end of the hallway. My parents could use the room Aria and I shared. I heard the other's walking up the stairs.

“ Mom Dad you can use this room here, Cindy you're over there” , I said nodding to the room opposite the one I gave Catherine. Cindy Just smiled and walked away. In our absence,Ryan and Nathan outfitted the entire house with Cameras.

I left them and headed back down to my office. I was there half an hour when the door opened and Catherine walked in.

“ Caleb,I thought you would Join me in the room?”. She said taking a seat. I swallowed the disgust I was feeling and braced myself for it. The only way I could speak to her in a decent manner was to imagine I was speaking to Aria.

“ I'm sorry Catherine. The resort is set to open in a week and I have a lot of work to do that is why I came here to stay.”

We both heard the knock at the door. I looked up and Ryan was there. She rolled her eyes at him. She never liked him.

“ Arch is here ” ,he said leaning against the door frame, Looking at Catherine.

“ Bring him in, let's get this done “.

He walked away,A few moments later Arch came in ,he didn't look at Catherine.

“ Caleb. Well, are you sure ?”he asked, looking at Catherine.

“ Yes Arch, I'm sure”.

“ Okay then. Why don't you and the woman sign it ,we need two witnesses ”. He said looking at Ryan, Ryan stepped backwards.

I signed the Marriage License, and I handed it to her. She didn't even hesitate,she signed her name smiling. When she finished she looked at me.

“ Ryan,Sign it and get Max to sign it” I said looking at him.

He walked over and signed it. He looked at me and walked out not before winking. Shortly after he left , My mother came.

“ Caleb what's going on?”.

“ Mom this is Arch ,he just got me and Catherine married. Arch this is my mother Amanda Cross”.

“ Pleasure meeting you Mrs Cross “.

“ Pleasure. Well Catherine you're now His wife. It's almost lunch hour ,why don't you join me in the kitchen and help me prepare a light lunch for the family ”, My mother said, And now it begins.

“ Oh of course mom” , Catherine said, jumping off the Couch. Did she just call my mother mom?. As they walked out Ryan walked in with Max. He locked the door. I picked up the marriage certificate and looked at it.

“Arch ? Isn't it illegal to have two wives?”.

“ Yes it is “ ,he said quietly.

I pulled the lighter out and burned the certificate. I held it until it started disappearing and the ashes fell to the ground .

“ I have one wife and only one wife. Max, I want you to get a car for her and have a camera installed in it. We'll give her this week,make her feel special then I'll inform her parents of her whereabouts. Arch you'll have a fake marriage certificate to show them. Let chief Matthew know they'll be reporting the matter to him”.

“ Oh don't worry. The News is spreading in the cafe, Everyone wants a piece of her” ,he said smiling and walking out. A few minutes after Arch left we heard shouting, Ryan and I headed to where the commotion was . We found Catherine,my mother and sister in the kitchen. There was what looked like flour and Water all over. Catherine was drenched in water.
