Chapter 47

Caleb

“ I don't care what she looks like, she's alive and that's all that matters to me”. I Said looking at him.

“ I'll meet you out front “ , I said walking into the house. I went to my office and got what I was looking for. I found him outside with Jason. I handed him the stack of bills.

“ Mr Cross, what is this?”.

“ Consider it Payment, Gratitude whatever you want it to be. Keep taking care of my wife and my son until I get this over with and I'll come and get them. I'll inform Gertrude to wait for your call ”. I handed him a paper with Her number.

He stopped and looked at us. “ Your Wife is scared Mr Cross, absolutely terrified and not for herself but for your child. I don't know what is going on but make sure you protect yourself and your family “.

He left and we were left standing there.

“ I'm going to call my father. I'm putting everything on hold. If you have to Kill my mother Don't let me know, just do it. Call her ”, Jason said walking away.

I called Gertrude and explained the situation. I told her Holly would meet her at the Cafe and give her something. She was happy to hear she was alive,she promised me to take care of her.

Turned the phone on that he gave to me and dialled the number and the phone was answered on the second ring.

“ Baby girl?”.

“ Caleb ” , she was crying.

“ Don't cry baby girl, please. I thought you were gone. I…”.

“ I'm okay Caleb. Margret, Miguel and Dr Aldridge have been taking care of me. We have a son Caleb and I don't”.

“ It's okay baby girl , I understand. We need to name him but not yet. Give me three months more and I'm coming to get you. I'm bringing you back home baby,both of you. Gertrude will be there soon “.

“ Okay,I trust you”.

“ I love you Aria “.

“ I love you too Caleb”.

“ Baby, I'm about to date Catherine, I need her close in order to deal with her , Holly and the girls are helping me. Please don't be mad”.

“ Do whatever you have to do Caleb. I won't be mad just don't sleep with her please “. She said quietly.

“ That's the one thing you don't have to worry about. I'll speak to you soon, love “.

I ended the call and walked back into the house.

“ What are you going to do now Caleb?”. My mother asked me.

“ I'm going to get Catherine and her family. Holly I need you to do something for me ”.

I went to my office and Holly followed me. I handed her three credit cards in an envelope with the pin numbers for all.

“ Gertrude will be waiting for you at the Cafe. Give these to her for me please. I just need to make sure she has everything she and my son needs”.

“ Okay, I'll take it over ”.

“ Thank you ”.


Jason

She was alive. The relief and horror I felt at the same time was too much. I don't know where my mother is. After the whole spectacle she created she just disappeared. She didn't sign the divorce papers,she just left and my father was worried.

We were on Caleb's Jet heading back to New York.

“ Cindy, When you get home start packing, you too mom. We're all shifting to Payson for a month or two. If anyone asks it for dads health”. He said looking at his family.

“ Okay ” , Amanda said

When we got back to New York, I Headed over to my office. I called my father to meet me there. He showed up twenty minutes later. We were sitting in my office, I left Both of our phones outside by the receptionist desk. It was late in the night and the building was empty.

“ What's going on Jason?”.

“ Aria's Alive Dad”.

“ What ?”.

I explained what happened earlier in the day when the doctor showed up. He sat in the chair looking lost and tired.

“ God this is such a mess”. He said, rubbing his hands over his face.

“ We'll take care of it. You have a grandson”.

He looked at me immediately.

“ He's only three months old. Caleb has a photo. I have one on my phone. I'll show it to you. We need to find mom Dad,as long as she's out there Aria will never be safe. Caleb's going to deal with the Davidson family. They're responsible for it, so is mom”. I said, waiting for him to understand what was going to happen now.

“ How ?”.

“ Well there is one way” , I said looking at him.

Caleb

I left them packing, I grabbed a bottle of whiskey and walked out of the house, Max was waiting for me.

“ Where is she ?”.

“ Ms Davidson is at the midnight Lounge sir. Nathan is keeping an eye on her”.

“ Okay, take me there” .

We got into the car and left. I opened the bottle and threw some of the whiskey into my shirt then drank some..it took us all of thirty minutes to get to the club. The minute I walked through the doors, I saw her,she was with some women.

I took a table and sat down drinking. I knew she saw me because twenty minutes later there was a shadow over me.

“ Hi Caleb “ ,God , Ryan was right why the fuck I was ever with her I'll never understand.

“ What dooo youuuu want?” , I made sure to slur my words.

“ Nothing,I just came to say hi”. She said in a voice I don't know if she was trying to flirt or sound sultry but she sounded like she had something stuck in her throat. I looked up at her.

“ Catherine?”.

“ Yes Caleb?”.

“ Do you love me?”.

She kneeled down in front of me instantly.

“ Yes Caleb, I do , I've always loved you, you and only you “. She said hurriedly.

“ Do you still want to be with me?”.

“ Yes ” , she was getting excited.

“ But you'll have to leave everyone you care about ” , I said sadly

“ I don't care Caleb as long as I'm with you, I'll do whatever you ask me to do “. She said putting her hands on my knees, I instantly felt nauseous. I took a few minutes before answering her , I didn't look at her.

“ If I say yes Catherine then , you'll have to cut your family out if your life, your friends, your job everything and come with me. Do you…”.

“ Yes Caleb,yes oh yessssss ”. She answered hurriedly.

She didn't let me complete the sentence. She was so desperate that she didn't see through my sudden interest in her.

“ Okay,then meet me in two hours at the airfield with your luggage. Say your goodbye to everyone.”

“ Okay, I'll be there ”, She said standing up.

“ And Catherine, this is your last chance. You're forbidden from telling anyone that you're with me or you can get hurt just like my first wife. If you're not at the Airfield then I'll leave without you “. I Said,now looking at her.

“ I'll be there,I promise Caleb. I won't tell anyone ”, she said before walking away. She went back to the table where her friends were,she grabbed her bag and walked away,they were calling for her But she didn't turn around. I couldn't help but smirk.

Catherine

I grabbed my handbag and left the club. Once outside in my car I let out a breath of relief. It paid off ,it fucking worked. Killing her made him want to be with me. I can't believe Diane was right. I was about to call her but decided against it ,he said not to tell anyone. I love Caleb and Will do anything for him. I started the car and drove home.

When I walked in the house was quiet, mom and dad were asleep. I went up to.my room and grabbed the suitcase I had in the closet and hurriedly packed it. I would need cash,if I used my credit cards my parents and Diane would trace me. After packing, I left my phone and bag on the bed. I headed down and stopped for a second, they were still asleep. I went to my father's office and opened the safe.

I took all the cash he had in his safe. I decided to leave a note for them. I grabbed the notepad and scribbled it really fast.

“ I'm leaving and won't be returning. I'm safe, I'm okay and I'm happy. I'll contact you soon. Love Cathy”.


I took my suitcase and left , I got back into the car and headed towards the airfield. When I pulled up Caleb was there along with his family. I guess they had no choice but to accept me. This was finally happening,I was getting my happily ever after.
