21. Indescribable Faith

Leandro was excited like a young boy waiting for Santa to arrive on Christmas day when he heard about the visit he was going to receive and have his favorite person and be together with him for lunch. He was
ecstatic that he was cramping to direct the kitchen staff about what to prepare.
"Master, the Young Master Lucien also mentioned about not preparing too much food," the personal assistant was too scared, but he still had to relay the message.
"Shut up!" Leandro Michaelson sneered at his fidgeting assistant.
"Yes, Sir."
Then he heard the sound of the door opening. The front door. He left the kitchen without clear instructions to do and went to welcome his grandson.
"Prepare something decent. Make sure they are all Master Lucien's favorites." Enzo gave the orders instead. The kitchen staff felt relieved Enzo was around, or they would never have any idea what to prepare with such limited time. The person to be served was already here! And he is not going to stay for too long. They are sure about that. "And hurry!"
The kitchen staff and every servant in the mansion were like tops turning around as they tried to meet the time span of twenty minutes to serve lunch.
Then Enzo ran after the old Michaelson to assist them and Lucien in whatever they may need while waiting for the meal.
"My boy!" Leandro spread his arms open when he saw Lucien walking towards him from the front door.
Lucien could not help smiling. His grandpa is not someone you could ever think like a man from the underworld. He has a very bright personality. Lucien has never seen him in his dark days that Lucien could never imagine how they could have been when looking at this old man. He fits to be in politics for being so bright and jolly.
"Grandpa! How are you today?"
"I feel heavenly. A bird told me when I woke up in the morning that something great was going to happen today. I didn't know it was you coming over to have lunch with me," Leandro beamed like he didn't just sneer at his assistant in the kitchen a while ago.
The two generations of Michaelson roared in laughter. Leandro hugged Lucien as soon as the grandson got close to him. He squeezed Lucien, who patted the old man's shoulder.
"Grandpa, you're gonna kill me. I cannot breathe," Lucien teased.
Leandro is only seventy-five. And with his healthy habits assisted by his son and daughter-in-law, he has a very well maintain a dietary balance that keeps him healthy and strong like a wild horse.
"Oh!" Leandro quickly loosens his arms around Lucien, as if what he heard was true and really going to happen if he keeps the hug even a minute more. "Sorry about that! You know I miss you so much!"
"We just met last weekend," the grandson tried to argue.
"Still, I do," the granddad did not back down either.
And they both laughed again. Lucien leads the old Michaelson to sit down in his extravagant living room. It has the most refined furniture that his grandpa had personally designed and hired a furniture company to customize according to his liking.
"Master lunch will be ready in twenty minutes," Enzo informed the Master of the house as they get seated in the luxurious sofa chairs with European antique influence brought to life. Its traditional carvings, detailed looping, and gorgeous antique finish bring the ambiance back to the glorious old days. The delicate hand-worked finish enhanced the beauty of the detailed woodwork and carvings on its designs. Its cabriole legs and luxury upholstery covers bring comfort, beauty true splendor into the old man's home.
"Tell them to take their time," Lucien ordered. He knew he came without early notice, so the kitchen would be in a hurry. He is aware some of them might even cut themselves or get burned but would still do their best to meet the time for lunch. He doesn't like such scenarios, so he told Enzo in advance about just preparing a little. "I have something to discuss with grandpa anyway," Lucien added.
"Understood, Young Master." Enzo smiled faintly.
Enzo is Leandro's most trusted man. The two of them had both saved each other's life from death, and ever since then, the loyalty and trust sprouted in between them like it was the most natural thing to happen. But Leandro first saved Enzo, who was trapped in Leandro's rival Mafia leaders' group. Leandro came barging into the enemy's hideout one day. It was just almost after breakfast, a time no one would ever expect for anyone to invade a place, but because the mafia leader had been sabotaging Leandro's business, he was so furious that as soon as the news reached to his knowledge, he gathered his loyal men and attacked. Leandro was like a roaring Lion during that time, a beast feared and respected as the King of the Underworld Jungle. Leandro saw how Enzo had been badly treated by the leader. He was treated like a sandbag, beaten whenever the leader was in a bad mood to the extent of Enzo almost losing his life. Right at that moment, Leandro gave the gun to Enzo and let him decide. Is he going to kill the bastard or the one who wants to save him? Because giving Enzo, a gun could result in him dying right there and then, too. But he had this indescribable faith in the poor man's character that he would choose wisely.
Not many people may know it, but even animal lovers would know that if you give a dog an honest affection, it will return to you with loyalty beyond the word could ever explain. And a man in distress, when helped and saved, can do more than a mere dog could offer—honesty, loyalty, and dedication for all the days of his life. As Enzo chose to shoot the person who made his life miserable for a very long time, he chose to be loyal to Leandro ever since that day. It was like he lived to serve the Lion of the Underworld. It deepened when he realized, Leandro is never a man that oppresses his people. He is quite the opposite. Enzo's respect became even more profound that he stood in front of Leandro when a random man hired by Leandro's enemy boldly pulled a gun in broad daylight while Leandro was walking out of his Casino building. Enzo took the bullet without a second thought. Leandro was able to fire back, kill the shooter, carry Enzo personally to his car, and rush to the hospital where Levi Michaelson was just getting started practicing his medical career.
