Chapter 60
ARABELLA was sipping her wine at the dining table while Aiden was cutting the meat that was cooked over the fire. She saw there was someone approaching her and it was the butler. Her most trusted employee to deliver the good news to her, day or night in her castle.
“A telegram for you, Your Majesty,” he said before Arabella was taking the dismissive and read the content. Then, she smirked. Aiden was wiping the smudge on his lips before speaking to his wife, considering the happy reaction that Arabella was showing.
“Let me guess, another success?” Her husband was asking Arabella as her blue orbs were focused on the dismissive. Aiden blinked his eyes as he was reading the disrespect that his wife gave him to see for himself. “And it would seem that the marquis was enjoying his honeymoon with his marchioness after all,” he said before Arabella was shaking her head.
“No, my love, read again. And carefully this time, please,” the young queen said before her consort was rereading the dismissive again. Then, he snapped his eyes to look at his wife.
“Wait, this is not the Marquis of Kain? I know it would be the perfect match for both Ian and Lady Emily. But this information…”
The young queen shook her head before she was sipping on her blood-laced wine. “No, this is for another lord that I have planned for his marriage,” Arabella said as she was putting the letter down on the table before continuing with her eating. Aiden arched his eyebrows.
“You are something, my love,” Aiden said as Arabella was biting on the small meat that was on her fork. She smiled wickedly before she was sipping on the blood-laced wine again.
“You know I am, my love,” she said as Aiden was dabbing his mouth.
“May I wish you all the best for your next matchmaking?” He asked her as Arabella was arching her eyebrows.
“I thought you didn’t want to get involved?” She teased before Aiden smiled.
“I was bored and you always do something that picks up my interest. So, my queen, I am pleading to you for my involvement with your plan for the next matchmaking,” Aiden said, before Arabella was receiving the dismissance from him. Aiden smiled as he turned to look at her.
“But honestly, my ally? Him? Of all the lords that were bachelors, you chose him as your next target? Are you mad?” Aiden asked before Arabella smirked.
“I would not be so sure, my love. Besides, I did hear something interesting during the reception of the Marquis and Marchioness of Kain. I think they would be great matchmaking of all time,” Arabella said before she was sipping on her wine. Aiden shook his head.
“Good luck to you with the Earl of Raine then. He was known to be unpredictable,” her husband said as Arabella shrugged.
“And I matched him with the right partner then. She was not easy to please, I heard,” Arabella said as Aiden smirked.
“Lady Jessica Cole. A lady that was not easily impressed by anything mundane. Who would have thought you thought she was the perfect match for Tom,” Aiden said as Arabella was putting her chin in her hand.
“Who would indeed,” she said before they both smiled at each other. The royal couple that was matchmaking were the lords of the Higher Court and this time, it was Thomas Rambova, the Earl of Raine. Only Thomas did not know that his future was being planned at all.
IAN was looking at his wife’s beautiful face as they had exhausted each other last night, again. She was breathing normally as Ian could see the claim that he put on her neck, body, heart, and soul.
Emily mumbled something in her sleep before she turned the other way. Ian chuckled as she was reaching out to Ian, even in her sleep, and that pleased the Demon inside him.
“Ian…” she whispered as her hand was stretching out to the wrong side of the bed. Ian wrapped his wife in his arms before kissing her bare shoulder as he tucked her closer to his side.
Emily sighed as she put her face against his armpit. Ian smiled before he closed his eyes again, waiting for dusk to arrive as the sun was still shining above their heads.
The curtains were drawn as Ian was awakened by the sounds that the maid made. He was looking around before he noticed that his usual staff was busy cleaning their bedchamber. Emily sighed before she was snuggling against Ian even more.
The maid was surprised to see that the Marquis of Kain was already up. “Milord! I am so sorry to disturb your sleep,” the maid said, curtsying at him before Ian dismissed her. She bobbed her head before exiting their bedchamber. The marquis turned to look at his wife, who was still sound asleep before Ian had another idea to wake her up that morning.
Ian slipped the covers away from their naked bodies as he was leaving his trail of kisses down Emily’s body before she was moaning in her sleep. Even in this state, she knew his touch like no one else.
Ian smiled as his Demon was pleased with her reaction. He was kissing her flat stomach that soon would be carrying his heir. But for now, he will not be sharing Emily with anyone else.
“Ian…” Emily moaned before Ian was settling himself between her thighs as he was gripping her thighs tightly before spreading the gem that was hidden at the juncture of her legs to his amber stare.
“Emmy, my love. Open your eyes, it’s time to wake up,” he whispered to her core. His hot breaths were stirring something inside Emily as her core was glistening with her arousal.
Perhaps my wife was not asleep after all, he mused before he dived in for the main course of waking up next to his wife every morning.
