Chapter 89
It has been several months after Marquess of Kain’s wedding reception as Tom was looking out the window of the private study of young queen Arabella, the monarch of Niapachad Island. She was married to the prince consort, Aiden as they were sitting at the divan in front of the fireplace as the fire crackled.
“So, what did you want me to do for summoning me here?” Tom said as he was sipping on the tea that was being served hot to them. The queen was arching her eyebrow as she was putting down her tea to look at Tom. She smiled at him.
“I don’t know what you are talking about, my lord. I asked you to come here because I have an issue to discuss with you,” she said as Tom was groaning inside him. He knows how the queen’s mind worked. She has an ulterior motive for everything that she asked.
And this time, it was his turn.
Oh, Tom knows alright about how his two friends, the Duke of Belikov and the Marquess of Kain, could get married in the span of 6 months. The young queen has arranged a ball for her engagement party, even though she already married, at the Belikov’s castle and that’s how Niklaus was meeting his future duchess, Lady Rebecca Davis and how the masquerade ball that Ian attended, ended him in shackles with Lady Emily Moore.
Tom just knew that he would be asked to get married next.
“And what is the issue that you wanted to discuss, my queen?” Tom asked before Arabella was smiling at him. She was turning to look at her husband before she turned to Tom.
“It has been 6 months since the last marriage of one of the lords from the Higher Court. I think it is due time for one of them to marry again,” she said as Tom was slapping his face in his mind.
I should have not come here, I know it was a trap, he mused before he was looking at Aiden. He was no help in this as he was staring at the tea that was in his hand.
His wife has all the control.
Tom cleared his throat as he was leaning closer to the table that he was intertwining his hands between his thighs as he was looking at the queen. Arabella just smiled before he spoke.
“And you have a Lady in mind that would be a perfect match for me, I assume?” He said as the young queen was smiling at him.
“Why would you think that I would have someone in mind for you, my lord?”
“Because you have been planning for Niklaus and Ian’s weddings. I know how you think, Your Majesty and I think I don’t want to be in your trap this time,” Tom said before he stood up as he was straightening his waistcoat.
“I am sorry, my queen, but my answer is no. Now, if you excuse me, I would like to go to attend to my region now. It will be days before I will arrive in time for my tenants’ payment,” he said before Tom was walking toward the door, leaving the royal couple to look at his retreating figure.

“I told you he would be a tough nut to crack,” Aiden said as Arabella was sipping on the tea. It was blood-laced as she was smiling over the rim of the glass.
“Are you sure about that? I think you will be surprised if I told you that in the next few days, we will be hearing the wedding bells,” Arabella said as Aiden looked at her. His wife was smiling at him before he sighed.
“Okay, what have you done now?” He asked her as Arabella was arching her eyebrow at him.
“What do you mean, my love? I did not do anything at all. It was merely a coincidence,” Arabella said as Aiden was amused with his wife.
“You are such a wicked matchmaker,” Aiden said as he was pulling Arabella onto his laps as they were alone in his wife’s private study room. The fire crackled as the night was just past midnight when the young queen was smirking at Aiden.
“I am not. I just wanted them to live the best life that they can possibly can,” Arabella said as she was caressing his hard chest. He arched his eyebrow.
“And what is the definition of 'best life’? In your view anyway,” Aiden asked his wife before Arabella was smirking before she was kissing his lips. Aiden growled before he was gripping her ass.
“Having someone to tumble in bed with and share their secrets. Don’t forget the amazing sex that they would have if they have a wife,” she said as Aiden was looking at her. He smirked.
“Like we have?” He asked before Arabella was licking her lower lips.
“Exactly like we have. I know how lonely it can be when you have no one around you,” Arabella said as she was nuzzling his neck. Aiden sighed.
“You have me now and I will do anything to make you feel safe my love,” Aiden said as Arabella sighed before she was looking at him.
“I know, my love. I know but these lords don’t. That’s why I have to matchmake them,” Arabella said as Aiden.
“Or maybe because you have so much free time in your life that you don’t know what to do but to make wedding matchmaking and playing matchmaker to your Higher Court,” Aiden said as he was arching his eyebrow. Arabella laughed.
“And that. But enough talk. Time to show me your never-ending love, my love,” Arabella said as Aiden smirked.
“I will and this time, it will on this very divan,” Aiden said as he went to show his queen his undying love for her.

Jessie was looking at the telegram that she received when she was going out to the city.
Go to the coastal city. You will find what you’ve been looking for there ~A
Jessie smiled before she was folding the dismissive and put it into her drawer. She called for her ladies’ maid before the maid was curtsying to her.
“What can I do to you, mum?” She asked as Jessie was smiling at her.
“I will be out in the country again. It will be a coastal city this time. Can you pack my suitcase? I will be out in about a week or so,” she said as she was sitting at the desk, ready to write her response.
“But mum, you have no one in the country, let alone the coastal city of Royal Lothso. They were filled with thieves and bandits, mum,” she said as Jessie smiled at her.
“Thank you for your concern, Raven, but I think I can handle them,” she said before her maid went to pack her suitcase. She was pulling out a paper and started to write her dismissive with a smile on her face.
Finally, some actions, Jessie mused before she was dreaming about the coastal city in her head.
