Chapter 71

The red siren was looking at the carriage that rolled out from Lake Ngis. She was sitting on the banks of the lake before her red scales that were covering her from the waist down, forming the tail of a fish, were disappearing as the sunlight dried the enchanted water from Lake Ngis.
It has not been known that the water was what kept the sirens in their ethereal looks; glossy hair, smooth, dewy skin, vibrant scales, and flippers for them to swim easily underwater. Once the enchanted water has dried up from their bodies, the sirens change into full-grown, adult young ladies that will be distracting the lords of the Gentry to the highest degree.
“Are you sure you want to be going away from here?” the teal sirens as the red siren as her transformation was completed. She turned to look at her sisters who were swimming in the lake by the banks. The red siren smiled.
“You heard what the marchioness said. Aren’t we tired of living here, wandering only in this lake as the others were going and exploring other things in the world beyond this place?” she asked her sisters as the other sirens were looking at each other. The teal siren asked her again.
“But, you know our legend. We have to take revenge on the descendants of the lords that killed our parents. And they asked us to take that revenge from here,” the teal siren said as the red siren rolled her eyes.
“And we haven’t been killing those lords for centuries. We have been waiting and waiting for them to come but for some reason, they don’t come across this place.
“I think we have to come out of the lake and find those lords that have been doing our parents wrong in the past. We are their descendants and we have the right to make them pay for what they have done,” the red siren said as she was trying her newly formed feet that she hadn’t been using for centuries.
Not when their parents were moving from this world to another.
The teal siren hesitated. “Ver—”
“Hush now. I know that we have to take this step and this step will lead us to those bastards to avenge our parents,” the red siren turned as she was looking at her sister. All four of them looked up to her as the eldest in their family. She stood straighter.
“I know this is a bit of a struggle to come to terms with the change. But we have to take this opportunity for us to go beyond Lake Ngis and Forest to do some real destruction to this land that has been unjust to our kind, especially our parents. Don’t you think so, Bee?” the red siren asked when the other sirens were coming to terms with the new strategy of their revenge. The teal siren sighed before she nodded.
“Of course, we follow you, Ver, but until the revenge is complete. After that, I am coming back to this lake and the others are free to make their destiny as well,” Bee said before Ver smiled. She offered her hand to her sister.
“Of course, after the revenge is completed, you guys are free from this and we can do whatever we want and take whatever we need because this island owned its heart centuries ago,” Ver said, preparing her sisters ready for the adventure that would take them into heartbreak as well as betrayal and heartbreaks.

EMILY swayed against her husband’s chest as she was waking up slowly from the long hour of a carriage ride to their townhouse in Royal Molftus. She was moaning softly as she leaned again against the hard chest that she had known for almost several weeks now. Ian was smoothing his hand on her hair before he kissed her temple. Emily smiled.
“Good morning, my love. It looks like you’re just in time for us to be arriving in the capital,” Ian said before Emily leaned back and looked at his handsome face. No one should be allowed to have such a face but she was lucky to have this man for her eternal life. Her inner Demon was pleased before she was leaning closer.
“Hmm, I wonder why I would be so lucky this time? Were we traveling the whole night while the sun was shining on our servants? How cruel can you be, my lord?” Emily teased her husband as Ian smirked. Then, he pulled her by the nape as their hot breaths mingled together.
Ian’s eyes turned into obsidian in a blink before Emily was pinned down on the velvet couch. She smirked wickedly before Ian was tracing his hands on her sides. Emily was on fire before she was gripping his lapels.
“Kiss me, Ian. I want you,” Emily said as she felt the color fade as the grey filled her view. She knew that her eyes were turning into obsidian like her husband's. Ian smirked. Then, he moved his mouth to touch her left ear, his hot breaths were teasing her neck.
“And if I don’t? What will you do to me, my love?” he said, as Emily growled. He smirked before Ian pulled his earlobe into his mouth, sucking on it as his wife was moaning softly.
“Ian…”
“Shh, my love. You don’t want the others to know what we’re doing here, right?” he asked as Emily was nodding at him, her eyes were pure black as her inner Demon was responding to his. Ian smirked.
“Then, you must behave, my love. And wait until we’re in our bedchamber before we can continue our inappropriate behavior,” Ian said before he was getting off from Emily, and sat across her on the velvet couch.
His wife was turning her head at him, glaring before getting up as Emily was smoothing her skirts when the carriage stopped. The horses neighed as the coachman was smoothing them with his voice. Then, he announced.
“We have arrived, milord,” he said as the footman got off from his position, opening the door as the dusk was filling the carriage’s door. Ian smirked at Emily before he stepped outside.
“Be patient, Emmy. You will get what is due to you in the carriage tonight. But for now, we have to eat breakfast because I am sure that you are starving, my love,” Ian said as he was offering his hand to escort Emily to the dining hall, helping her to get off of the carriage as her skirts were gathered in her hand. Emily smiled, narrowing her eyes as she was leaning closer to Ian.
“Then, I shall wait for you as well, my lord, as you made me this morning,” Emily whispered before she snatched her hand back, walking ahead of Ian as she added a little sway to her bustle.
Ian chuckled softly as he instructed the servants to carry their traveling trunks to the bedchamber. He knew that the servants would be talking among themselves but Ian could care less. He was playing a game of cat and mouse with Emily and was ready to see who would lose the game when night came.
