Chapter 64

IAN was excited about showing Emily the wilds that he had had when he was a little lad. He was looking at the sleeping Emily beside him as her head was leaning against his shoulder.
He was holding her hand as the dim sunlight was penetrating the curtains over the windows of the carriage. He sighed as he tried to avoid the sunlight that seeped through so that his skin would not be blistered by the harsh light. Also, Ian had to protect Emily’s skin from it. Hence, he pulled her closer to his side.
“Hmm,” she mumbled in her sleep before she was nuzzling his neck. Ian smiled as he smelled the lily scent that was coming off her skin.
Like every morning when he was between her legs.
“Emmy? My love? Are you awake?” he whispered as the carriage was rolling slowly to a stop. The horses neighed before the coachman was getting off. Then, there was some rustling and mumbling as the horses neighed before they were led to the nearest water source. Ian smiled as he could smell the fresh water that was awaiting them.
“Emmy? Wake up, we have arrived,” Ian said as he shook his wife slightly before Emily was opening her eyes. She rubbed her eyes as she yawned. Ian chuckled softly as his wife had no restraint when she was stretching in front of him.
And her breasts were pushed against the corset that she wore, almost slipped through her bodice, and were on display for his personal view.
“If you keep looking at me like that, my lord, I’m afraid that we will never get off the carriage to see the scenery,” Emily said as she noticed that Ian was looking at her bodice. Ian chuckled as he knew that his wife was perceptive and he loved every second of that trait.
“Well, if you want to enjoy the scenery, we have to get out of here. But the sun was still setting over the horizon. We have to put on our huge hats then,” Ian warned her before Emily was pulling on her huge bonnet and Ian was putting on his tall hat.
He nodded at his wife before rapping at the door as the footman opened it. He nodded at him before he offered his hand to Emily. His wife took it as she was gripping her skirts in another hand. Then, she was off from the carriage. She gasped.
“Oh, Ian! I never thought that you would bring me here,” Emily exclaimed as she was looking around the lake that was known as Lake Ngis to the islanders. It was located near Arena City, St. Betown to the northwest. Emily was gripping her skirts as she was walking toward the camping spot that was designated for the travelers that wished to be away from the capital or cities and in between their journeys.
“So, what do you think of my surprise?” Ian asked Emily as they were standing near the banks of the lake. Emily smiled and her eyes were shining with happiness. Ian’s Demon was pleased as he saw his mate was fulfilled and happy to her heart’s content.
“Oh, Ian, it’s the best. And to think that we could be here for a day,” Emily said before Ian arched his eyebrows. Then, he chuckled.
“A day?” he asked before he pulled Emily into his arms.
“Who would have thought that we would spend our time here for a day? I thought perhaps a week would suffice,” Ian teased her as Emily gasped.
“Do you mean that?” she asked before Ian kissed her. Emily hooked her arms around his neck as she was pulling him closer, playing with the hair on his nape.
“Anything you wish for, my love. I tried to fulfill it. And if you like, we can stop at our estate in St. Betown for two more weeks after that,” he said as Emily beamed at him.
“Oh! Can we go to Chentersea as well?” she asked Ian before he hesitated. He knew why Emily was asking him that but Ian would not be bothered to tell her that. He just shrugged, not wanting to give false hope to his wife.
“We’ll see how the weeks go by and if there is no missive waiting for me back at the estate,” Ian said before Emily clapped her hands and they went to set up for their camping that night.
The footman and the coachman were helping them out whenever they could but Ian was in his element. He had been there since his youth and to think that he could show Emily how to survive in the wilds would be something that anyone else would not be able to do for her.
“Thank you for your service. You can come here again after the week is done,” Ian said as the staff bowed at him and mumbled.
“Very good, milord,” they replied and were off, leaving Emily and Ian alone to enjoy their wedding trip.
Ian was looking around the campsite that he had constructed with help from his staff as Emily was standing by the banks of the lake. She was looking intently at the water as the sunset was on the horizon. Ian dusted the dirt from his hands before he went to stand next to his wife, who was looking intensely at the water as if she wanted to swim in it.
“Do you wish to bathe, my love? I can prepare it for you,” Ian said before Emily snapped to look at him. Her eyes were glazed over before she blinked and those looks were gone. Ian arched his eyebrows at his wife before Emily smiled.
“That would be lovely, my love. And I wish that you would bathe with me, yes?” Emily asked, teasing him as she was gripping her skirts higher, showing her stockinged ankles before Ian smirked at her.
“As my lady commands, I shall commit to it,” he said before he dragged Emily by the hand to the edge of the lake, wanting to skinny-dip with his wife and perhaps have his wicked ways with her afterward.
