I can’t believe Ice.He went after my girl. And he used the excuse of just hanging out to do it. Casper and Nixon told me it is a common occurrence to hang out with Sabine. So she wouldn’t know the difference. I take that back. I can believe him. He is using their long time friendship to get himself even closer to Sabine.Clever and an asshole move. But I’m going to put a stop to this real quick.

I made a quick stop to grab some snacks for Sabine. I know she doesn’t indulge in sweets very much while she is training but she has a weakness for chocolate and bananas. Thank you Rocket for that tip. I get to Sabine’s hoping I’m not too late. I get to the door and no one stops me. They know better. And I’m sure I look like a man you don’t want to fuck with right now. I have my hand on the knob when I hear them talking. I open it as quietly as possible and listen. Sneaky. Damn right. I needed to know Sabine’s feelings for Ice. If they go beyond brother-sister love. Or if she will give Ice a chance if he can talk her into giving him one.

I also need to know what Ice has up his sleeve. Know thy enemy. The more I know about him the better I can out maneuver him. I know Ice as a brother and how he is with the skanks but the man has never been in a relationship. And now I know why. He was after my wife. I am curious as to why now. Why not earlier? Before she married me. Why did he wait? Was he like Tank and thought she deserved better but after he saw her married to a biker he figured it was time to stop hiding? I’ll figure all of that out later. I need to focus on stopping Ice for now.

I move around the corner and see them cuddled up on the couch way too close for my comfort. Him touching Sabine is too much for me. I see the way Ice is holding her is more intimate than just friends hanging out. Sabine on the other hand is being nothing but friendly. And she looks confused by what Ice is saying. She is also hiding something. Something she doesn’t want to talk to Ice about. What is that about? From what I understand Sabine talks to these guys everything. Hell, they all know when she got her first period and when they found out she is allergic to certain bug sprays. But she is hiding something from Ice. Interesting.

When it looks like Ice is going to move in to kiss Sabine I jump in interrupting them. Ice looks pissed. Good. Ice and I have words confusing Sabine. When she has had enough of us going back and forth she questions us and we tell her there is nothing to worry about. Sabine has no idea Ice wants her. That will work in my favor.

I pull Sabine to my side and watch the movie with them. I’ll deal with Ice later. About half way through the movie Sabine is yawning and her eyes are drooping.Her head keeps falling forward but she would yank it back like I have seen the kids when they are fighting their sleep. It is so cute to watch her. But I couldn’t let it go on. I saw Ice reach out to catch her when she did it again. Fuck no, asshole.I wrap my arm around her shoulder tight and glare at Ice. Sabine still has her eyes closed this time and I carefully lay her head on my chest.

Sabine wiggles and curls her body around me and lays her hand on my chest just to the side of my heart. Very similar to what I saw in the picture Ace showed me. The picture I still have. I don’t keep it out. Not because I’m ashamed of it but Sabine is topless and even though you can’t see much I don’t want anyone to see it.

I smile and kiss the top of her head. I’ll sit here a few minutes before I take her to bed. I smirk when I see Ice looking at us. “ Got a problem, Ice?” I asked. “ No problem. Just never seen Sweet pea do that.” he said. “ Do what? Fall asleep on someone?” I wanted to know what he was talking about. The more information I got on Sabine the easier it will be to win her. Even if it came from this fucker.

Ice shakes his head and laughs. “ No, she has fallen asleep on all of us at one time or another. She always fights her sleep. Since she was little. Especially if she was at the club. Like she was afraid she was going to miss something. We would hold her so she would give in. Hell, I have seen Casper or Monster carry her around a party just to make sure she stays asleep.” he said.
“ My sisters do that all the time. I don’t see the big deal.” I told him. “ Not when the kids are twelve they don’t. But the point is sweet pea has never held any of us like the way she is with you. It is like she can’t get close enough. Even after what you did to her. She wants to be as close to you as she can get.” Ice said. He shakes his head “ She really does love you.As much as she tries to hide it, she does. I just didn’t want to believe it.”

I smile at what he said. I just want to hear it from her. “ That mean you are going to back off?” I asked. “ Fuck no. I know I’m better for her than you. I would never walk away from Sabine like you did. I won’t walk away until Sabine makes her choice. I will let her know she has a choice. You aren’t going to stop me. Only Sabine can do that.” he said. I shake my head. Fine, he won’t give up. I’ll just have to show him I’m the better man. And Sabine will pick me.

I have had enough of Ice for one night. I shift Sabine so I can pick her up. “ I’m taking my wife to bed. Have a good night. Down here. Alone.” I say as I walk up stairs. I get to Sabine’s room and close the door with my hip. I pull back the covers and lay her down. I pull back because I’m not going to assume she wants me here. Sabine grabs my shirt and holds tight. She is still asleep or at least mostly. Sabine mumbles “ Don’t go. Stay.”

Since she isn’t fully awake I have to ask. “ Baby, it’s Ethan. Are you sure?” I won’t take advantage of Sabine even if it is just sleeping beside her. “ I know, Ethan. Just stay. For a little.” she whispers. That is all I need to know. “ Hold on. Give me a sec.” I stand up and strip down to my boxers and climb into bed. The bed is small, just a queen but I don’t care. I will sleep on a twin bed if I can be close to Sabine.

As soon as I’m close to her she latches on to me like she did in the living room. The only difference is we are skin to mostly skin. Her tiny tank top is not covering much. I curl my arm around Sabine and hold her close. I don’t do this with anyone else. None of the skanks or the few girlfriends I have had over the years. But this feels right. Perfect. I need this all the time. I settled in with my wife for the best sleep of my life.
