Epilogue
Viper

We are shown to a room so Sabine can get undressed and hooked up to Iv’s and monitors. Much to Sabine’s disappointment she has to have a c-section because at our scan last week our son has his butt down. Once she is hooked up they take her to the operating room and leave me to get dressed. The nurse comes to get me as I try as I might to keep my nerves in check. I see Merigold and Axel in the hallway. “ You got this. We will be right here if you need us.” she said. “ The rest of the club is on their way.” Axel said. Once I’m in the OR I go to Sabine’s side and hold her hand.

“ It is time. We are about to be parents. Are you ready for this?” she asked. “ More than ready, baby.” I told her. I talk to her while the doctor does his thing. I refuse to look over the sheet. I don’t want to see my wife cut open. Brick said he couldn’t either when Speed had Alana. Suddenly I hear a loud scream. Not a cry, a scream. “ Baby A is a boy and he is mad.” the doctor said before handing the baby off to the nurse. Sabine smiles “ Daxon.” We are naming our son after her two brothers. Then we hear what can only be described as a squeak. “ Baby B is a girl.” “ Alina.” Sabine says. I can’t believe it, our babies are here. I kiss Sabine’s head.

“ Viper, Alina. She isn’t crying. Why isn’t she crying?” Sabine asked, tears rolling down her face. She is right. Other than a squeak and a few whimpers she hasn’t cried. Daxon was screaming his lungs out. Before I can ask the nurse that took her says “ Relax mom and dad. She is just fine. She is on the small side but breathing. I’ll bring her over in a second so you can see for yourselves.” Another nurse comes over “ How about you meet your son before we take him to get cleaned up.” She hands him to me and I am in awe. “ Hey, Daxon. Happy birthday buddy.” I said. I swear this kid looked less than thrilled to be out of his mom. I turned him to Sabine. She smiles, “ Hey, little man. Go enjoy your bath. I will see you soon.” I handed him back to the nurse. Then we get to meet our daughter. She was tiny compared to her brother. And she looked content in her blanket.

The nurses took them away promising to bring them back when Sabine got in her room. “ Thank you baby. I know I said the day I married you was the happiest day of my life. But you just topped it.” I said as I wiped tears from my eyes. “ You don’t have to thank me, Viper. We did this together. Just like we do everything else. Now go tell everyone. I know they are waiting.” I know she is right, the waiting room is probably packed. I kiss her one more time and head out to share the news.

When I get there I’m not surprised to see not just my club, but the Devils and Sabine’s dad. “ I’m a dad. Two healthy babies. A boy and a girl. Sabine did awesome. You can come see them all when she is transferred to her room.” I said. By the time I am done getting hugs Sabine is in her room. “ How bad is it?” she asks, referring to the waiting room. “ Well, if we let two people at a time come in for ten minutes each, the waiting might be cleared by morning.” I told her. “ Ouch. Don’t make me laugh.” she said.

There is a knock at the door and a nurse pokes her head in. “ Mom and dad, I have two special people who are clean and ready to see you.” she says as she wheels two bassinets in. She places them between Sabine and me. “ Look what we did, Viper. They are perfect?” Sabine whispered. “ That’s all you, baby. You did the work.” I told her. Sabine looks up at the nurse “ And they are healthy? No problems?” “ They are both perfectly healthy. Your son weighs six pounds seven ounces. Your daughter is a little smaller at five pounds three ounces.” the nurse said. “So he takes after me and she takes after her mom. Got it.” I said.

The nurse goes to leave and as soon as she opens the door I see Nixon, Casper, Merigold, and Mitchel standing there. I shake my head and motion for them to come in. They all stand at the end of the bed. I picked up my son and handed him to his grandpa “ Dad, meet Daxon Clint.” Sabine said. Yes he has my dad’s middle name. It was Sabine’s idea. I pick up my daughter and hand her to my sister. “ Merigold, meet your niece Alina Valerie.” I said. Her middle name is after Rocket. It takes most of the night but everyone got to check on Sabine and see the babies. Rocket cried when she heard we used her name. Then it was just my very tired wife and our two kids.

I thought I had everything when I became President of the Renegades. Man was I fucking wrong. Now I have everything. And I could be happier.
