Chapter 68

Pixie

We went to the club after the recital to celebrate Jax. All the kids were there so it wasn’t as rowdy as it is when the adults party. And there are no skanks. Viper ordered pizza, chicken wings,chicken nuggets, and there were veggie trays. For dessert there was a variety of cupcakes,cookies and fruit for the kids to choose from. I like that they went all out to acknowledge Jax’s accomplishment. When we first got here I stepped back and watched how everyone congratulated Jax. The ones who saw the show were showing videos to the ones who didn’t. Jace, Kadance and Kassidy were bragging about how high Jax could jump and spin fast to anyone they saw. It was cute to watch.

I was sitting in a booth watching my new family mix with my old while I went over tonight's events. Everything was perfect and I was so proud of all the kids. I even knew about the party afterwards. The last thing I expected to happen tonight was Viper getting on the ice and proposing. I was shocked. We are already married and I’m marked as his ol’e lady. I didn’t need anything else. He said he wanted to propose and get married the right way this time with all our family and friends. And he had my elite team to help. So sweet. It was the best second proposal ever. I loved it. And of course I said yes. Why wouldn’t I?

I looked across the room and saw Nixon and Casper laughing with Tank and Thor. I saw Rocket chasing Lita and Alana around saying the tickle monster was going to get them. The air is filled with giggles. Everyone was having fun. Ratchet was helping Ian with something I couldn’t tell because I only knew a few signs and they were going too fast for me to keep up. Speed was helping Gretchen get some food for their youngest Ford, who Brick was bouncing on his hip. Merigold was at the bar standing between Rowdy’s legs leaning her back on his chest with his arms around her waist while they talked to Ace. You can see the love he has for her. Axel is in the middle of the floor dancing with the girls standing on his feet. I hope someone is getting pictures of that. Even my dad is here chatting with both the clubs.

Ailee is talking with Stone with Katrina on her hip. Viper is around here somewhere. But I’m not worried. I don’t need to keep tabs on him or cling. I trust him. I didn’t think that would ever happen but he proved himself to me. He even told me about the run- in he had with Claire in his office. Right down to Speed punching her. He didn’t have to tell me about it. He didn’t do anything wrong. Hell, he could have taken Claire up on her offer and I would have been no the wiser. But he didn’t and he told me about it so yea, he has earned my trust.

There are days where I can’t believe this is my life now. I have a huge family. A hot as hell, sweet husband. And new friends. I love it. But a small part of me wants to grab Viper and go celebrate on ourselves. But I won’t take Viper away from this. I will have my time later. I feel the seat dip beside me and a strong arm wrap around my shoulder. Speak of the devil. I lay my head on his shoulder and curl into his side. “ What are you thinking about so hard?” he asked after kissing me on the top of my head.

I pull back and smile up at him. “ Lots of things.” I told him. “ Want to share?” he asked. “ All good things I promise. I was thinking how lucky I am to have all of this.” I said, waving my hand around the room. I place my hand on his chest “ and you.” Viper places his hand on top of mine and leans down to give me a quick but tender kiss. “ It is me who is the lucky one. I don’t think I would still have my club if you hadn’t not only forgiven me but given me a second chance. Jax lighting up the way he does wouldn’t be possible without you.” he said.

“ Let’s just agree we are both lucky.” I said. Viper chuckles and nods. “ What else were you thinking?” he asks. It is my turn to giggle. “ I was thinking about stealing you out of here so I can have my wicked way with you.” I said. Viper picks me up and places me on his lap. I gasp. I can feel him getting hard under me. He kisses me again and places his forehead on mine. “ I like the way you think, wife of mine. Why don’t we stay a little longer? And then I will whisk you and explore these ideas you have.” he said. I laid my head on his chest “ Now, husband of mine, that is a plan I can go with. Let’s enjoy the club then I will enjoy you.” I said.

A prospect I didn’t know brought over a wine cooler for me and a beer for Viper. After a few minutes my dad comes over and sits with us. I slid off Viper’s lap to hug my dad. “ Dad, thank you for coming. I was so surprised.” I told him. “ Are you kidding? When Viper called and told me what he was doing there was no way I wasn’t coming. He even asked me for my blessing.” dad said. Viper asked for dad’s blessing. Wow. I noticed Karen wasn’t here. “ Dad, Karen didn’t want to come to the club?” I asked. I quit calling her mom at that dinner we had. Dad takes a pull of his beer. “ Sweet pea, I came by myself. Karen and I are separated.” he said. My jaw drops. “ Dad, I’m sorry.” I said. That is the proper thing to say isn’t it? I feel bad my dad’s marriage is falling apart. For my dad, not Karen. “ Don’t be. I think it was a long time coming. I just didn’t see it. After the dinner we had with you, let’s just say I finally opened my eyes. Karen never forgave me. And she took it out on you. Our marriage was never the same after I cheated. I own up to my part. But it wasn’t that good before I cheated either. That was why I was drinking away my sorrows that night. I think I overlooked things for the sake of you and Nixon.” dad said.

“ Dad, I am truly sorry this is happening to you. And I hope I didn’t make things worse.” I said. I was worried that because of what I said at dinner made things worse for my dad. “ You did nothing. This was on me and Karen. I need to do what is best for me now. And I have you to thank.” dad said. “ Me? Why? How?” I asked. Dad laughed. “ It was at that dinner. I saw how you fought for your husband and family. Even after everything you and Viper have been through. You fought and so did he. And the things Karen said about not being able to love you the right way. It made me want more.” dad said.

“ Dad, you deserve more. And I hope you get it. So what are you doing now?” I asked. “ Right now, I’m staying with Nixon. I have talked to your uncle Rich to start the divore proceedings. I thought I would help out at the rink. Take some of the paperwork off yours and Nixon's hands so you guys could focus on your classes. Help close the land deal for Thor’s shop. And I will start looking for a small apartment.” So he has it all planned out. He isn’t doing this on a whim. “ Well, I’ll be happy to have you around more often.” I said.

We talked for a little while longer. Viper and him talked about the land and what they were using it for. Viper told dad he could come to the club anytime he wanted. He was family and he was always welcome. I just hope dad doesn’t get involved with any of the skanks. That is gross on so many levels. But overall it was a good night and I had fun. When we got home Viper fulfilled his promise to let me have my way with him. I did, twice before I was too exhausted to go anymore.
