Chapter 43

Viper

I watch Sabine do her warm ups from the corner. It is similar to yesterday but just single skaters warming up. Both men and women. Until I met Sabine I didn’t give a shit about ice skating. The only reason I paid attention to hockey is because Jace and Jax play. And I only paid attention to their games. Now I pay attention to ice skating and hockey. I have seen people walking around with tee-shirts saying team this and team that. I’m thinking about getting one myself for Jace and Jax. And any of the kids that join any sport. Or anything for that matter. Math club, chess club, glee club or anything else. I want all the kids to know that no matter what they do in life we will support them. And I know all my brothers feel the same way.

I see Casper get Nixon’s attention and motion his head sideways. Nixon and I both look at the older couple standing off to the side staring at Sabine. Nixon's face changes from coach to pissed. Nixon and Casper walk over to them leaving Rocket and Goof with Sabine. Rocket looks over to them then to me. She motions for me to follow. I’m not sure why she wants me to but I do. When I get there I hear Nixon say in hushed tones “ What are you doing back here? You know Sabine can't be disturbed right now. And damn sure not by you.” “ We won’t bother her right now. We just wanted to see her. She won’t return our calls or messages.” the woman said.

“ Do you blame her? You need to give her time.” Casper said. “ It has been a week, Dax.” the man said. I get closer and get a good look at the couple. I can see the resemblance between them and Nixon. They must be his parents. “ And you think that is enough time. You turned everything she knew upside down. It is going to take more than a week. Especially since she has been training all week focusing on last night and today.” Nixon said. “ But Sabine is still talking to you and you lied too.” his mom whined. “ I lied because of you. It wasn’t my choice.” Nixon said. These people were going around and around about this. And if they didn’t stop soon Sabine was going to hear. She doesn’t need this bullshit right now.

I know Sabine has been dodging their calls. She was doing it for a reason. They shouldn’t just show up here for anything other than supporting Sabine, not forcing her to see them when she isn’t ready. I won’t have anything disturbing Sabine right, not even her parents. “ Is there a problem?” I asked. “ Who the hell are you?” the man asks. Normally I would get up in his face and tell him exactly who I was but it is Sabine’s father so I’m going to let it slide for now out of respect for my wife not him. “ Dad, mom. This is Viper. Sabine’s husband.” Nixon said. “ Viper, these are our parents. Mitchel and Karen Denvers.”

“ You're the asshole who abandoned and cheated on my little girl. And you have the audacity to call yourself her husband.” Mitchel said. Now he is pissing me off. I know I did Sabine shitting in the beginning but I have proved myself to Sabine. “ Unlike you sir, I didn’t know I was married at the time I cheated. And once I found out I was married I haven’t touched anyone but my wife. But you can’t say the same.” I said. “ Nixon, are you going to let this man talk to your father like that? And what do you mean you didn’t know you were married?” Karen whined. Seriously, she whined.

“ Yes, I am going to let him talk to dad that way because he is telling the truth. Turns out he was drunk as a skunk and didn’t remember getting married. But that is for another time. You both need to go and find your seats. If Sabine sees you and isn’t ready to talk to you she is going to be pissed. And it will affect her on the ice. I’m not having it.” Nixon said. “ And neither will I. She has trained too hard to get here. I’m not letting you fuck this up for her.” I said.

“ How come he can stay and we can’t? He hurt her too? He still hasn’t signed the divorce papers.” Mitchel asks. I’m starting to thing this guy is fucking stupid. I know he is for cheating on his wife. But does he notice what is going on? “ I’m not getting into Sabine and Viper’s relationship with you. Viper is here because Sabine wanted him here and his club is adding extra security. That is all you need to know for now. But I recommend you stop your petty bullshit for now.” Nixon said.

“ Viper, they are calling Pocket to the ice. Rocket and I got her.” Goof says in my ear piece. I see Casper nod so I’m assuming he is getting the same message. “ You can stay here and figure your shit out. I’m going to watch my wife skate herself into a first place position.” I said then walked off with Casper behind me. I don’t have the time or patience to deal with them right now.

We get to the rink just as Sabine gets to the center of the ice. This is the first glimpse of her costume. It looks like a black leather bodysuit with fishnet stockings. Her skates look like black boots. Her makeup is a little heavier than yesterday but works with the costume. Rocket is beside me looking as well. “ Pixie is looking like a girl from an eighties music video. Her theme for this program.” she says. Rocket hit the nail on the head with the look. It is a bad time but the outfit is turning me on. I press into the wall a little more to hide my rising dick. Thankfully it is dark here.

The music starts and I hear an eighties tune, Gloria, I think. And something else catches my attention when the lights hit Sabine. I see she is wearing a Red Devils kutte. What the fuck? Who’s kutte is she wearing? She should only wear mine. I feel a hand on my shoulder and see Rocket. “ Relax, It is mine. She thought you might like to see what she would like wearing one.” I feel better knowing it is Rocket’s kutte. But the thought that Sabine did it for me makes my heart jump.

Sabine just finished her spit jump and now she is spinning in the middle of the rink. She has managed to grab one of her skates and has it up behind her head. Watching her be so flexible isn’t helping my dick situation. I’m supposed to be supporting her not getting turned on. I guess I’m doing both.

When she has finished she skates off to the side to wait for her score. I watch as the judges put in their vote. Finally I see the score flash across the screen. Eighty five is flashing in big red numbers. She so far has placed first. We will have to see how she does in the long program. I expect Sabine to go towards the back to get ready for the second part but she doesn’t move.

I see Jax and the other boys of the elite group hit the ice. Then the girls. All white suits with thin ties and neon yellow shirts. The girls are wearing neon green body suits with black lace skirts. It looks like they are keeping with the eighties theme. I’m not going to move. I want to see what they are up to. The music plays a mashup of ‘ I can’t Go For That and You Make My Dreams Come True’. The boys skate for one part of the song and the girls do the other. At one point in the song the boys line up and skate backwards. Then one after another do a backflip Jax being the last. The girls are on the outer rim of the rink jumping and spinning twice before they land. I’m glad I stayed and watched.
