When I heard the sound of the whip and turned around, I saw it was lashed on the poor girl, and I gritted my teeth in rage. My heart boiled in fury. I wish Dad wasn't here. I would have torn those guards into two...

just as we got out of the building and into the countryside.

"Dad, that girl...." I tried talking but couldn't finish my sentence before he sent two punches directly to my face before grabbing my collar and roughly dragging me up.

"How dare you feel pity for that girl? How could you be concerned about the affairs around here? Have you forgotten so easily? You should never get soft or I may kill you for being useless!" He howled, his eyes glinting with pure rage...

I was about to mention the mate pull but couldn't as he pushed me with such great force that I hit my head on a rock on the ground, causing blood to spurt.

He growled deeply and towered over me as I lay on the ground wincing in pain.

"Do you know who you are? The son of Javier, a deadly Alpha. Don't tell me you want to become a weakling, you aren't destined to have a mate because you have to be as dangerous as ever, kill without restrain, destroy lives and cause tears and anguish. That's what you should be, and that's what Jason, my son, should turn into!!..a bloodthirsty monster!..." He growled and moved away. Standing up from the ground, I sighed.

"But Dad, why? Do we have to be cruel to everyone? Haven't we killed enough?" I asked, and he arched his brow at me.

"Jason, what is happening?... You've always been heartless, like me. Why do you care all of a sudden!" He howled, grabbing my collar again, his bloodshot eyes piercing into mine.

"Dad...I..."

"Listen to me, the time is approaching. I've studied how that park is. We are attacking soon!" He yelled and walked away in frustration.

I could see pure hatred in his eyes. He was surely going to be shocked to see me soft today, but it was just because of my mate in there. She made my heart melt, but I don't know why Dad lied that I had no mate when I had one.

I glanced back at the park and shrugged.

"I pray we meet again..." I mumbled under my breath before walking away...

Elena's POV

My whole body was full of sores. I had been flogged for a long time now while everyone jeered, laughed, and enjoyed the show. None of them cared if I died. The hatred in their eyes was too much, and that of Elf was making me feverish.

I just learned that this was a birthday celebration. I heard it from someone here. It's the birthday of one of my step-siblings. It was so painful that I was used as a prop.

Right now, I'm in my room. It was locked. My head pounded, my stomach grumbled. Moving is so hard for me now. I was hungry, yet there was no hope for me.

"Would I be starved to death?" I asked myself and heard just the cry of my inner wolf. Life was becoming worse and I couldn't tell how long I'd bear this before taking my life. The pain got more intense by the day. Elf wasn't relenting in killing me...

Each time I remember who she is, I feel pain in me. Everyone is blind, no one sees this lurking danger...

I shut my eyes again to absorb the pain, then someone's image flashed in. It was the face of that man who believed me, the only man who didn't hate me. I felt like he was my mate, but I don't think I have a mate. A devil-like me won't have a mate.

I had spoken to him through Mind Link. I felt so great each time my eyes locked with his own eyes...

I swallowed the lump in my throat with my stomach screaming for hunger continuously.

Just then, the door of the room opened and four guards walked in with Elf, who had those heartbreaking smirks all over her face...

She got to where I lay and sneered at me, then used her index finger to shake my fresh wounds, making me scream in pain while she laughed. My blood flowed freely as I felt intense pain again, but I can't even raise a finger, let alone talk about fighting back.

She waved her hand at the guards and they all left 

"Elf, you will regret... all this...very soon!" I grunted, breathing heavily.

"How? How will I regret it when you are here, hopeless? You will see how I wipe out this pack. You all will be history very soon. " She spoke out, making me cringe in terror...

"Why? Why did you come here? ... What is our crime?!" I shrieked.

"Your mother is the crime committed. You don't know it all. Yes, I warned her, I warned your stupid mother, but she turned deaf ears. I'm here for revenge!!" She howled and her eyes burned with fire, I could see fangs and claws shoot out.

"What did she do?" I thundered, feeling rage sweep through me.

"There is no need to tell you when I'm here to kill you!" She growled, making me sit up immediately...

I could see her whole body transforming. Apart from the fangs and claws, there was a tail coming out gradually. Her face was changing into the real demon.

"What did you say?" I asked about not having fear, and that was strange to me. I can't tell why I wasn't afraid when I knew she was turning into a powerful beast that could devour me in the twinkle of an eye.

"I've tried doing this for a long time, but it's backfired. I've acquired more power now. I think I can take your heart away now!!!" She howled and fired a strong fireball at me. It hit my head and I fell off the bed, landing on the ground with a loud thud.

My head hit the ground and I felt my breath change. One of my eyes became so hot that I found it hard to open. My whole body was trembling, so it was hard for me to control it.

She fired another ball, and it hit my belly, pushing me to the wall with such great force that I felt my bones crack. I grunted and gritted my teeth. The trembling became more rapid, followed by a strange change in my body.

"It's time to end you!" She screamed, and her voice resounded in my ear like an echo. It crossed my mind and I saw a flash of some unknown past. Her voice sounded familiar, and it made my whole body hot.

I felt myself shifting. I was shifting to something greater than me. I felt my wolf scamper and huddled in a corner of my body as my whole body changed.

I opened my eyes and saw Elf charge at me with great speed. Just as she was about to hit me with the full level of the power she had, something strange happened.
