Chapter 32

"Hey Elena, stop looking at my mate that way!" The voice of Scarlett huffed, making me flinch back to reality.
I didn't even recognize her presence all this while.

"Wait, is this Jason?" I asked, peering into his face with a bright smile.

My whole body has goosebumps now. I couldn't help myself as I jumped up, rushing to him with a tight hug, not minding Scarlett, who was standing beside him.

"Guards, push this demon away from him!" Scarlett ordered, and they pushed me off of him so hard that my head hit the wall beside the bed.

I groaned and glanced at Jason only to see him standing still, but his face grimaced a bit.

I sat up and held my head, which was pounding already.

"Elena, your magic has wadded off. He hates you so much now. Can't you see us holding hands? Can't you see he came with me from school?" His eyes are opened and he has got himself. Go to hell with your evil magic to get a mate who isn't yours!!!" Scarlett yelled with pure hatred and disgust in her eyes.

"Jason, we both know she is lying!" I said, smiling at him.

"Elena, or whatever you are called, I'm here to punish you myself for tampering with my life. How dare you use those petty tricks on me!" Jason howled with an angry look, leaving me stunned while Scarlett laughed scornfully at me.

"Are you saying that to me?" "Do you believe those foolish words she just spit?" I asked with a raised brow while he scoffed.

"She is my future mate. Don't call her foolish!" ...well, I'll teach you a lesson today! " He growled and turned to Scarlett.

"Can you leave the room for just the two of us? You might get hurt mistakenly," he cooed at her with a sweet smile that made me burn In jealousy

Jason's POV

I turned to Elena and saw tears in her eyes already. She was staring at me sadly. I could read her mind. She thought I was serious and was so hurt.

I quickly mind linked with her, but she already blocked it, thinking I was doing all this for real.

"Please let me stay and watch. I want to see her in pain and laugh her to scorn." Scarlett pressed on, and I got more enraged.

"Hey, you all should get the hell out of here!" I yelled at the guards, who bowed and left immediately.

"Scarlett, please go out." I forced myself to be all calm, but she insisted.

Just then, to my surprise, she fell asleep instantly, falling into my arms. I arched my brow and turned to Elena. Her eyes were blueish this time and were glistening with flickering light.

I laid Scarlett gently on the floor and headed to the door. I shut it up before walking back to Elena, whose expression was blank.

"You made her fall asleep?" I asked, and she rolled her eyes.

"Yes I did. It seemed there was something you wanted to tell me which you didn't want her to hear. I just learnt I've got the power to make one fall into a deep sleep. I'm sorry for using it on your lovely mate!" She huffed, looking away with her chained hands clutched around her body.

I stood there with my lips quivering as my eyes roamed around her; the room she was staying in, the chains in her hands and feet; she was restrained,

My heart bled. I can't believe this was what she got for coming to see me. I must have been the cause. Back then, I was the garden. I made her stay longer, which must have caused this.

"Elena..." I breathed, feeling the heaviness of my heart, seeing my mate this way.

Elena's POV

I made Scarlett fall asleep with the strange new power I had suddenly got. I can't tell you how, but I used it on her and it worked.

Okay, I succeeded, but then you can't tell how sad I am. I did it because Jason wanted to talk to me, but then, it might be to say "I'm sorry." It hurt me so much that he chose Scarlett as his mate. "Elena, is this where they kept you?" He sniffed and broke the hug, peering into my eyes.

"Elena, stop repeating those words which I forced out. I said it to gain her trust so I could be here with you alone. Elena, I'm sorry... you are passing through pain. Look at you being chained. " He howled, and I felt my heart throbbing.

"Jason, she is about to wake up. I can feel it." I mumbled, and he stared into my eyes.

"How are you able to perform magic?" he asked, and I sighed.

"I'm weird. I don't just know who I am, but I know I'm not normal. "I sighed, falling back on the bed exhausted.

"Why can't you use those powers to set yourself free?" .. you couldn't defend yourself with it? " He asked, squinting his eyes.
