Chapter 27
"You must be joking, sister, that can't happen, we both know that!" Dorian frowned as the car drove into the Royal Packhouse, and I bit my lower lip, feeling my heart grow heavy with anger.
I don't need you to believe me or not; my instinct doesn't lie. I entered the garden where Jason should have been, the same spot where he had always stayed alone. You can't believe I got there and he was sitting on the ground like there was someone he was talking to. I got closer and there was no one there, but I saw the white fur in his hand,
Elena noticed me coming and ran away! " I pressed on and Dorian opened the car, stepping out while I did the same.
"She can't leave the house without anyone finding out. Even if she succeeds, she won't be stupid to come to the school when she knows we will find out," he shrugged, heading in.
I growled and clenched my fist tightly. I could recall the smile that appeared on Jason's face while playing with the fur. When I got into that garden, the Jason I met wasn't the same as everyone knew.
He didn't have those cold, distant eyes. His face wasn't stony or grim; it was calm and had a smile on it.
"Dorian, have you forgotten that we saw Jason in the morning with Elena's sketch?" I grumbled, moving up to catch up with him.
"I'm confused about that too, but saying Elena went to that school and met Jason is something I can't bring myself to believe. Even if she meets Jason, would he like such a rejected soul, someone who looks unkempt and ugly!" He snorted with the usual hatred in his eyes.
I sighed with a hiss as we finally got to the sitting room. At the same time, my father was walking downstairs, yawning as he woke from sleep.
"Oh, here comes my sweet baby!" He grinned and spread his arms, which we ran into. He hugged us passionately, making me smile, but the smile vanished immediately.
"Dad, I met the man I love," I spoke out, ignoring Dorian's sneer.
"Oh, really?" On your first day in school, you already found your mate?" He asked with a short laugh, and Dorian tittered, making me glare at him.
"What am I hearing, my daughter found love?" My mother chipped in, walking into the sitting room from another room. I, and Dorian, hugged her too before I continued.
"So, dad and mom, I found him. The most handsome man on this earth. My type of man. I'm so sure he is my mate." I squeaked happily, and Dorian burst into a sarcastic laugh this time.
"Hey, what is it?" Dad and mom asked him in unison as we all sat down on the couch.
He was about to say something when Dad squinted his eyes at his forehead.
What is that bump I'm seeing? Did someone punch or headbutt you? ...who dared that!!! " He howled.
I quickly threw a killer glare at him, sending a stern warning; he should never call my mate here or I'll eat his heart...
He saw me and smirked.
"What caused that bump?" My mother asked,
"He fell while running!" I replied, rolling my eyes at him.
"Is that true?" Dad asked, and he nodded, making me sigh in relief.
"So tell us about your mate." My dad and mom coaxed me to grin.
"He shouldn't be called her mate when no one knows that yet!" Dorian frowned.
"No one should listen to him. My mate's name is Jason, an alpha prince and son of Alpha Javier." I replied, and they both smiled.
"You've got good eyes, daughter. That guy is perfect for you." Dad gloated, and I felt on top of the world, grinning from ear to ear.
"But I've heard he's cold and doesn't pay attention to any lady; are you saying he found you attractive and fell in love with you?" Mom asked, erasing the smile on my face.
At that moment, I wished I was the reason he smiled today, but hell no, I was the reason he frowned instead. He was smiling at that fur and not at me. I was a thorn in his flesh.
"Jason still treats all ladies the same, including her. He counts her as one of his dying crushes. That's why I doubt he's her mate!" Dorian chipped in, and I clenched my teeth, fighting the urge to fight him. I badly wanted to scratch his whole body with my claws...
"Really?" They both exclaimed in unison.
"I've told you both not to listen to him but to me!" I whined, and they turned back to me while I eyed Dorian.
"Did Elena come to our school today?" I asked, immediately recalling all that happened,
"What do you mean?" Mom was the first to ask.
"I guess Jason met her at school!" I pressed on, feeling my anger and rage growing more and more.
"I don't think so." Dad arched his brow,
"Why do you ask?" Mom questioned,
"Jason was holding a white hat when I met him in the garden. I...I...am afraid it may be that of Elena!" I grimaced.
"Elena left the house today when we went for a minor war with the rogue!" "Does it mean she went to that school?" My mother muttered thoughtfully, and I sprang up from the couch with a scream.
Oh no, it can't be!
Jason can't have anything to do with her...
She is wretched and evil!
"Mom, you mean, Elena left the house today?" If you mean she got out, then it is her then! ... Jason met with her! " Dorian growled.
"Dad, Jason is liking her!" I shrieked, tears already forming in my eyes. Pure hatred and jealousy were burning in my heart, and all I wanted was for Elena to be killed.
"Guards!!!!" Dad called out, and three of them rushed out.
"Go get Elena here right now! "... "he ordered, his face red in fury.
Don't tell me my ears aren't deceiving me?..." Elena went to that great school for many years, a school for the royals. What a shame for us! " So said the Beta as he got into the sitting room.
"How would you all allow that devil to get close to the man I love? She used dark magic on him, and...he began to like her. He cared for her fur so tenderly as if his life depended on it. I saw him this morning with a paper having her sketch drawn on it." I whimpered.
"Daughter, we are so sorry, she snuck out without our consent." Elf soothed, patting my back.
I was not just angry or sad, but also afraid. She is terrified of losing him to her. My parents had always told me about Elena being a demon or evil. They would keep telling me she got the dark magic of the demons, and I found it hard to believe since she had always been weak and hadn't hurt anyone except the guard that tried stripping her.
Today, I had to force myself to believe she got the magic. I don't see any more reasons why Jason would have anything to do with her. They must have first seen her on my birthday, when she was brought into the palace hall for punishment after poisoning the food for the guests.
She looked so worn out and her hair was rough and spread all over her face, making her look even more scary with those strange eyes. No sensible man would like her that way.
I'm far better than her in every way, so why, why the fuck is Jason liking her?
I just hope they aren't mates. I don't want to think of that anyway.
I watched as she was dragged out of the room with her head sagging down. She was weak and drained out. I stared at her in disgust and contempt. You can't tell how much I hate this girl. The guards pushed her to the floor.
"Elena, where did you go to after leaving the palace today?!" Dad asked curtly, and she sat down before looking up.
Her gaze wandered to everyone until it fell on me, and I could see fear in those eyes.
"Elena, you met with Jason, right?" I barked impatiently. She cringed and fluttered her eyes.
"Who is Jason?" She asked, and I sent two hot slaps to her cheek in fury. She held it and swallowed hard, forcing the tears back.
"What brought you to the school is not my business. You can keep on disgracing your miserable self. I'm only concerned about what you got with my boyfriend, Jason!" I thundered, vibrating as my anger kept soaring,
"Your boyfriend?" She raised her brows in surprise, with a trace of sarcasm in her voice. My cheeks flushed.
Does she know I'm lying?
