Chapter 54
I'll give you a reply to that only when you tell us all what you went to the rogue territory to do! I interjected, making her flinch.
"What the shit are you talking about?" She snorted.
"Where is Dorian?" I asked her, and it seemed my question notified them all that the heir to the throne was missing.
"Where is my son?" My father asked, looking around.
"Did the Red Moon pack kill him too?" The Beta asked rhetorically
"Blame it all on Elena. It's part of the demon's plan to wipe us out, and they've succeeded in weakening our defense with the Red Moon pack. Alpha, you should save us before they wipe us out. The best thing to do is kill her! " Elf huffed.
"If there is anyone we should kill, it's you. You are the demon here. Stop all these pretenses!" I scoffed and glanced at every other person alive. They all had their gaze on me. My father's eyes were distant and far from any emotion. I can't tell what he was thinking at that moment.
"Did I hear you all say the Royal Packhouse was burnt down?" Darren asked me abruptly in the deepest and scariest voice ever heard. I nodded, and his eyes brightened in fury.
"Who did it?!?" He roared, shaking the ground with those voices that rip the heart off. Everyone cowered in fear while I stood wondering what made him this way. He can afford to make a new one. At least he should be happy that we lost only a few people in there.
"Elena did it, Alpha, it's clear!" How can she escape at the same time when the place is being razed down? I'm afraid there is a lot we don't know about her! " Elf spoke out with a mean and serious tone. Dad turned his gaze to her and then to me. There was some kind of fear in those eyes of his which I can't understand.
"Elena..." He muttered my name and shook his head.
"Guards bring her to the Pack house. I'm not sure I'm hearing the truth. I should go there and see for myself!" He fumed and sped off.
"Elf what...." My voice was cut short with a smack over my head before they bundled me away.
Elf sent a smirk my way, and I fumed. I don't know why Dad is trapped by her words. Was she using magic on him?
How can I destroy my home? I just saved them, but he won't consider that anymore.
Darren's POV :
Hot tears formed in my heart as I ran like a wind. My lips quivered. Great fear gripped my heart and made it tense. It became just so heavy. All I prayed for was to find out it was all a lie. It should be a prank that Luna decides to play on me. I would surely accept it with a good laugh.
I was sure I never allowed the enemies to get close to the Royal Packhouse. I fought them fiercely to be sure none of them went further into my pack and destroyed anything. I was happy to succeed. I was glad I won.
I was stopped by Elena from attacking us, but one thing no one knew was that I was invincible. The powers from my secret chamber in Royal Pack House would keep bringing life into my body. I'm sure to challenge Jason and fight to the last. I might die, but I might be able to stop him from further destroying me.
Elena saved me from that stress, but then Elf came with the most devasting news.
Is the Royal Pack House ablaze?
I increased my speed as my heartbeat accelerated.
I got near and met the warriors who had caged Jason and taken him away. They were returning, and that shattered me as the truth hovered around my face tauntingly.
I shook my head and ignored them, even when they called for my attention. Finally, I got to the spot where my mansion stood, only to see it all razed down to the ground. Every part of it was gone...
My world had crashed, and I felt as if life was leaving me; I didn't need a fortune teller to tell me it was the end.
The powers I got were gone already. I could feel it in my body. The power of the greatest vampire whose soul I preserved in my secret room was leaving me for real.
Who did this?
Is it really Elena?
Does it mean she has found out my secret and has burnt the whole building to weaken me so as to destroy my pack?
Just then, they all walked in; my Luna, the Beta, Gamma, and their mates, my warriors, and Elena, who had her hands shackled.
I threw a glance at them and stared back at the destroyed house. Tears forced themselves out. I was getting weak as the powers oozed out. It broke my heart that Elena did this to me.
They had always made me know she was a demon. Even when I believed, I still got a glimmer of affection for her, but little did I know she wanted me dead.
"You saw what she did?" Elf growled with her eyes on me. I looked up and she peered into my eyes.
I sighed and gave a short laugh. I have to hide the truth about losing my powers. Maybe that will save me from being destroyed immediately.
We will build a new one, but then...Elena, for burning up this house, I swear you won't live to see tomorrow! I howled with a deadly glare.
I'm not the one who did this, but I'm curious about why you are this way. It's just a building. She frowned.
"Stop those pretenses, you demon!" I yelled, gritting my teeth. I couldn't believe she was acting like she didn't know what she did.
"We would reside in another building. I just don't get why anyone would burn down this building. It looks so useless to me!" The Beta shrugged and I swallowed the lump in my throat.
If only he knew what it had made me into. If only he knew it had made me a mere wolf.
