Chapter 35

She turned into ashes and was scattered over the floor.
My eyes closed and I slowly shifted back to my human form, feeling every part of me reform; the wings went into my back and closed up as if they had never been there.

The claw all turned into a normal finger. I felt the rage in me drift away. My heartbeat returned to normal and I felt myself becoming the human I was.

My whole body was weakened, and I had to trace the chair with half-opened eyes. I plopped down on it. My breath was heavy as I finally opened my eyes, which had become normal,

I looked around and couldn't understand what I had done. I can remember shifting, but something was strange about it all. My mind was controlled by a force that I couldn't understand. It was like someone was telling me what to do.

My gaze drifted to the ashes on the ground with pieces of charred bones, and that made me recall what I did. I can remember, but I can't tell why I was so angry at the woman. She was pleading with tears, yet I wasn't moved a bit. All I craved was to kill her. I badly wanted her dead.

"You all can see how powerful my son is." My father spoke out aloud with a gloating smile that showed how satisfied he was. Everyone present had smiles on their faces as they stared at me.

I sighed and stared at the space, wondering how Dad was able to find my deepest secret. He must have known it before me because I was sure I kept these strange powers hidden. I made sure I never used them and also hid my dragon scent.

I was so shocked today when Dad said I should use the dragon power.

"We have won already!" The Beta boasted,

"Yes, you are right with him. I don't think the Silver Moon Pack has hope of survival," the Gamma added, feeling elated.

I am a hybrid, a combination of wolf and dragon, but I can't tell how I got the power. Dad isn't a dragon, neither is mom.

"We aren't going to fight them yet; we aren't sure of victory for the moment," Dad said, and I could see them all surprised and confused at his word.

"How?" the head warrior frowned.

"Sweep off this ash dust..." My father, Alpha Javier, growled, and he quickly did it.

I don't go into a fight when I'm sceptical about victory, because not even one of my men should be killed. We aren't much, we are a new pack. I built it with my sweat and blood. I passed through a lot to make this territory my own and to own it. He paused and took a deep breath.

"I won't let anyone be killed. That's why I have been planning and setting strategies. My son is 18 now, and that is why he can shift like a dragon. His powers are so great now that he can even wipe out half of the pack single-handedly."

"Then why are you still wasting.." The head warrior cut his words, and with anger, he controlled the empty chair over there with his eyes and flung it on his head with so much force that he fainted instantly.

"Don't dare cut my word!" He growled and turned back to the others, who were gripped with fear.

I was watching without saying a word. I guess I can't keep any secrets from Dad. The first was discovering I had a mate, even though I kept it hidden, and the second was discovering my dragon's secret power.

I can swear Dad must be using strong magic. He can control any object with his eyes.

"I found out many things that would make us get defeated in the fight with the Silver Moon Pack." He paused and glanced at me with an angry look.

"My son is being softened by his mate!!!" He howled with pure rage in his eyes and tone at the mention of "mate." Words can't explain how he hates that word.

I sighed and sagged my head down. I just recalled what he had ordered me to do.

"Kill my mate."

Oh God, I'm already seeing myself disobey the order. As much as I knew I should do all the orders, I have never disobeyed him, and even when he gives me something almost impossible, I find myself doing it.

I don't think I can do it this time...

"Secondly, when I went for that birthday in the pack, I found out two things which put fear in me." He paused and sighed.

"What is that?" They all chorused, seeing the fear in his eyes for real.

I used my magic powers to check on everyone in that pack. I was curious about how they would keep winning battles, even when I couldn't figure out who it was, but I got the scent of a demon and a dragon among the Silver Moon Pack. He spoke out, and everyone widened their eyes in shock at what they heard.

I was also stunned to hear it. Immediately, my mind flashed to Elena. I shivered at the thought that she might be the demon.

Like, was it true when people called her a demon?

"Dad, who is the demon and dragon?" I asked curiously, and he wagged his head.

"They covered it so strongly that I can't figure out who they are, but they are two different people; two powerful hybrids; a wolf and dragon like you and another person with the wolf and demon combination," he explained, leaving everyone dumb.

There was stillness as different thoughts ran through everyone's minds.

I was so confused and couldn't place my hand on anything.

Which of them is Elena?

A dragon wolf or a demon wolf?

"This is terrible!" The Beta growled, clenching his fist.

"This must be the backbone of that pack. We should find a way to fight these two," the Gamma howled, with his voice having a glimmer of hope. He knew it was close to an impossibility.

"If we can kill one, then we would win, but before then, I am curious about something." My father arched his brow, then turned his gaze to me.
