Chapter 59

Elena's POV
I tried to keep my eyes open, but it was impossible. The pain was eating me deep into my bone marrow. I felt my whole body struck with intense pain that weakened me to the core.

Seeing Elf walk in with those grins broke my heart because I realized she had set everything up; the food was poisoned, and I had made the mistake of eating it despite my suspicions. The maiden must have known about it, which was why she was all shivering.

"Jason the Almighty Dragon, sit up. Let's talk." I heard the taunting voice of Elf making me grunt in pain and anger.

I wished I could stand up and strangle her. I wish I had got the strength to squeeze the life out of her. But all that was not possible as I found it hard to move just a finger of mine.

I could only stare at her with my half-closed eyes. My teeth were gnashing as the pain swept over me.

"Why are you both lying down like weaklings?" I can remember today was the day you set out to hunt me, or was I wrong? ... I'm sure I heard your conversations last night. What is happening? I'm here for the fight only to see both of you lying like a log of wood, " She giggled, mockingly tearing my heart apart in shame and fury.

I could only hear those words but couldn't do anything, and that pained me the most. Elena must also be in pain, pain from the poison and the mockery words from Elf.

"Jason, I don't know where you got your powers from." It is similar to that of King Bane, making me wonder who you are, so I won't kill you. Bane is coming. I can't wait to hear what he will say about you. As for Elena, I would have killed her before he came. " She laughed this time.

I could only curse her in my heart as my lips were shut.

Elena's POV

The pain made me numb. Hot tears rolled down my cheeks. I was still trying to absorb the pain when the voice of Elf was heard. Each word she blurted out was like a sword piercing my heart. I can't believe she was this cruel.

Just then, I heard the door open again.

"What happened to them? ... they look numb? " I heard the voice of Alpha Darren, my father,

"Have you found out where Dorian is?" She asked,

"That was also the reason I came here. The guards had searched all around and couldn't find him. I'm getting so troubled. What if he had been attacked? Where the hell would he have gone to? The Red Moon Pack didn't abduct him either." I heard him grumble, with his tone showing how much he cared.

"The chain used to cuff Elena could only be broken by someone with Royal Blood. I had a deep thought and found out that it was Dorian who released her on that day of the war since he was the only royal who wasn't in the battleground..." She paused, and I heard her sigh.

"Does it mean...Elena..."

"My Alpha, Elena, knows where your son is... since he released her, I wonder what happened next. This demon girl must have harmed him afterwards. Only she knows what happened to Dorian!" She stated, and my heart stopped beating for a brief moment.

Fear gripped me from the floor where I lay, and I couldn't help shivering so hard. I was in trouble, and I knew Elf was correct. Dorian broke the chain, but then, I know nothing about where he is. He left with Sophia, and I can't tell where the pack he went to was located.

"Elena, where is my son?" The deep, scary voice of my father, Darren, filled the room and resounded in my head like a bang.

I swallowed nothing and shut my eyes more tightly. The pain from the poison was setting my whole body on fire with its intense pain, but then, the worst was about to happen.

"Are you deaf?" "Where is my son Dorian?" His voice thundered the second time, leaving me struck with fear as my lips moved with no word coming out.

"I said where..." His heavy kick struck my belly, making me gasp for breath. He dragged me up and landed two blows to my belly, and blood spurted out of my lips instantly.

"Tell me where he is or I'll keep hitting you till dawn!" He threatened, and another kick landed on my head, making it pound so hard that I felt like I would die.

My father nodded at her words, "Let me use the special fire mixed with silver which I got. Remember I told you about it as the most painful torture for demons like her? "Bet me, it would make her spit the truth." Elf's voice sounded in my ears, making more tears roll down my eyes, especially when my father nodded at her words.

My eyes darted to Jason, and I could see how hard he struggled to attack, but I guess Elf planned it all so well, the poison wouldn't let him make any advance.

My heart was heavy and bled, not just for the pain but the fact that Dad was blinded by her charms.

I couldn't talk as the pain seized my lips. My eyes were fixed on Elf, who had a smirk on her face as she menaced forward to where I lay right there on the floor.

My lips were quivering but no sound came out.

She spread her left palm and the fire emanated. I could see how it burned hellishly. I could already feel the heat from a distance. The silver in it was already affecting my wolf as she whimpered, running helter-skelter around my body.

"Please don't let her do this! ...I'll die! " Lena, my wolf, cried with the most painful voice I had ever heard. It exuded so much sadness, the type I had never heard of before.

"Please Elena, I don't want to die," she mumbled, rolling herself together...

I felt heartbroken. I felt her deep pain, making me feel so guilty. She must have regretted being my wolf because I had only caused her pain and rejection, and now she might die as a result of me...

I raised my gaze and saw Elf already close by. My eyes shifted to Jason, and I could see how he growled silently. I could see his tears rolling down profusely.

"I told you I would win. You doubted me. I should make you believe it now, "Elf whispered to me with those sly looks, breaking my heart the more.
