Chapter 42 The Meeting of the Four

(Alexander POV)

I look at my watch. It has been over twenty minutes. Hope said if all goes well, a portal should appear within fifteen.

"Alexander, patience. Hope is speaking with the Moon Goddess. She might learn something we don't know." My mother pats my arm trying to reassure me.

"Mama, this is the first time she's ever done this. Fine, she flipped through the whole book, but she might have missed something," I argue.

"Oh, ye, of little faith." My father said. "Son, give some credit to Hope. She learned how to control the elements without any of our help."

"We need to stay quiet." My mother hushed us.

"Alexander, I see it. A gold door." Mark points towards the minibar.

"I see it too. She did it." I smile. "Mom, Dad, guard Hope with your life." I kiss them and I walk towards the gold door.

"Alexander Adolpha-Ulrich, Alpha The Dark Moon Pack." A voice announces as I pass through the door and in a flash of light I was in a room with a golden circular table with a crescent moon and star symbol."

"Mark Ferguson, Delta The Dark Moon Pack." Mark suddenly appeared seated beside me.

"Cole Deacon, Beta The Midnight Moon Pack. In front us, a tall man with blonde hair and brown eyes appears. We shake hands.

"Luciana Hemming, Alpha The Midnight Moon Pack". Finally, the one person I need to talk to appears.

"Alexander, how you were able to conjure a secret chamber is beyond me." Luciana kisses me on the cheek.

"Let's get down to business shall we? We don't have much time." I cough to clear my throat. "Luciana, I have received information The Rogue Lord has struck a deal with your sister Leia to exterminate your entire pack. "

"Leia?!" Luciana gasped. She couldn't believe what I said.

I took out a sheet of paper which was the blurred photo of Leia taken at the fortress of The Rogue Lord. "She is his newly appointed dark witch."

"Oh that sister of mine. After the scandal, she goes into dark magic, now she wants vengeance." Luciana said, angry her sister would do such a thing.

"The slaughter is said to happen on the Harvest Moon. It will signal the new war of The Rogue Lord," I tell them. "I also believe The Rogue Lord will not only touch ground on Montana, but in New York as well. He is believed to have 5000 strong wolves in his army."

"What do you suggest we do, Alexander?" Luciana asked. "I don't want to hide. It is not in our DNA to be cowards."

"What packs do you have strong alliances with other than mine? You shall ask for reinforcement among your allies. Make sure everything is confidential. Strike deals, make promises. Do everything to get more warriors," I replied.

"Should we tell the Clan of Wolves?" Luciana suggests.

"Not yet. There is a traitor in the Clan of Wolves. I, we, need to flush whoever that is... out," I answer her. "In the meantime, increase combat training. Mark here will be sending some of his trusted men to aid in training. I will send Hope to place protection charms over your entire territory as well as your properties in New York City. I will also get her started on any spells that can be used against invasion and for retaliation. I will ask my mother for any potions or elixirs to speed up healing."

"Hope? Your new Luna?" Cole looked at us puzzled.

"She is the daughter of Adella." Mark said nonchalantly and Cole gave him "I already know that" look.

"And does she have the powers of Adella?" Cole voicing his doubt of Hope.

"Who do you think made this secret chamber?" Mark glared at him, challenging him to make another insult.

"Bless the Moon Goddess!" Luciana said, to stop the two at going at each other. "Alexander, thank you. Send Hope my thanks. She has only started to tap into her potential and now she is conjuring secret chambers. I hope you will come to our aid with warriors of your own? Yes?"

"Of course. I will also give word to Alpha Alarick of the Moon Howlers Pack. His territory in Idaho is close to yours. He and I have a strong alliance and he will never say no to a fight." Alpha Alarick is a huge man who loves a good fight. "If ever I have more information Luciana, I will have Hope make another secret chamber to relay the information. As much as possible, only tell a few trusted wolves while you prepare."

Luciana and I stand up and give each other a hug. "This meeting is adjourned. Be blessed." I tell them. A door magically appears and one by one we exit to where we had originally been before entering the chamber.

"Luna!" I hear the blood-curdling scream as I step into the lounge area of the basement.

"Luna!" I hear a scream in the conjuring room. I run to the source of the scream. Alicia had Hope's head in her lap. "She just collapsed." Alicia was crying, stroking her hair.

My mother rushed into the circle to check her. "She's exhausted. Call the pack doctor. Quick." Mark runs out to get the doctor.

I tell Alicia it's ok. I pick Hope up. My mother uses the remote to open the wall that leads to the bedroom. I lay her gently on the bed.

"Alexander..." Hope moans. She made a grimace.

"Ssshhh... The doctor will be here in a minute. Just lie down." I kiss her cheek.

"I'm so tired. Where's my mother's book?" Hope asked.

"Here it is Luna." Alicia puts the book in her hand. Hope brings the book to her chest and hugs it. She rolls to her side and falls asleep.

"Alicia, you too. Get some rest. I'll attend to your Luna. You come tomorrow early in the morning to help her."

"Yes, Alpha." She bows. "Goodnight Luna. I'll pray to the Moon Goddess to keep you safe."

Alicia leaves and Dr. Frances enters. I give her space to check on Hope.

"Alpha, she is suffering from fatigue. She now has a low-grade fever. What did she do before she collapsed? Did she heal someone again?" The Doc asked.

"No, she made a secret chamber, Doctor." My mother answered from behind.

"She is completely drained. Look at the dark circles under her eyes. Looks like she hasn't slept for a week. My theory is whatever energy she used to make this secret chamber used most of her mental power. Am I correct?" My mother and I nodded. "Before she does this again, make sure she has slept and hasn't done anything else that will drain her. This morning she was controlling the elements. Now you had her make a secret chamber. Alpha, this "crash course on being a Priestess" you have her doing isn't healthy." She turns to my mother. "Former Luna, I know you have the gift of healing, however no elixirs should be given to Hope. I will prescribe a mild antipyretic for her fever instead. I need to take a sample of her blood so I can perform some tests. For now, I'm ordering bed rest for two days and no strenuous activity." She takes out a syringe from her doctor's bag and proceeds to take a blood sample.

"Two days?" My Goddess! What have I done?

"Alpha, I know she is of great importance not just to you, but to the whole pack. And I know why you want her to train." The doctor shook her head. "But she needs to rest. Soup if she doesn't feel like eating. If she does, give her as much food as she wants. Healthy food. No junk food. I'll be back in the morning to check up on her and with the test results. Alpha, no strenuous activity. That includes..." The doctor wiggled her eyebrows.

"Yes, Doctor. None of this..." I wiggle my eyebrows. I try so hard not to laugh.

"I mean it, Alpha. I'll see you in the morning." Dr. Frances bows and leaves.

"I'll carry her upstairs and give her a sponge bath." I tell my mother.

"Okay, honey." She takes a look at the prescription. "I have this in the medicine cabinet. I'll have some brought to your room. Honey, be gentle with Hope. It seems the doctor suspects she's pregnant. I thought she hasn't gone into heat?"

"Pregnant already? And yes, she hasn't gone into heat. Odd. Well, everything about Hope is different." I smile at my mom. Hope pregnant. I loved the sound of that.

"Anyway, just be gentle. If she is pregnant, your heir lies in her womb, son." She paused. "We also need to double security."

"Now, you sound like me, Mama. You aren't usually this apprehensive."

"Alexander, if Hope is pregnant, not only is this child your heir, she is the firstborn of a daughter of Lupa. Two now fit the prophecy. The Rogue Lord will do everything in his power to kill Hope and your baby."
