Chapter 61 The Fall of the She-rogues

(Alpha Aira POV)

My phone rang. I looked at it and I read the name Lucas. After Autumn Moonlight Pack was rumored to be doing "experiments", he turned his back on me. All of a sudden, he's calling me. What does that goody two shoes want?

"Lucas, what do I owe the pleasure?" I asked him, surprise in my voice.

"I got a call from my good friend Alpha Alexander Ulrich of The Dark Moon Pack. He and his mate are here in Vancouver. They'll be arriving at the Cypress Blackcomb Resort in less than an hour," Lucas said in a monotone. I can tell he really disliked having to be the one to inform me.

"That's strange. Hope called me a couple of days ago. She said they'll be arriving after their trip to New York...after gracing the Hemming event. The Hemming event is tomorrow night." They've come early. Preparations for their arrival haven't been set.

"Well, plans have changed. They expect you to welcome them at the hotel." The line goes dead. Shit! I have less than an hour to prepare for the arrival of the daughter of Adella!

I ran to the old woman's hut. She was supposed to cast a spell to make her crappy house look like a Victorian home from the outside. She said she had to muster all the energy she had left to do it. Damn. All our plans to trick the daughter of Adella weren't going to push through.

I banged on her door. I've come to hate her house. It always had the stench of a dead rat coming from it.

"What?!" The old woman screamed her irritation through the door. She disliked visitors, like that happened frequently. One look at the crap she calls a home and any person would never dare go near it. I was one of the few who had enough courage to stand at her doorstep.

"Your granddaughter will be here in less than an hour," I yelled back.

"How can that be?" The old woman suddenly swung the door open. "You told me she is to arrive in 5 days," she snarled at me. She also disliked plans changing unexpectedly.

"They're here. I don't know what happened, but they're here," I said.

"Fine. Bring my granddaughter to me. She will have to see my rotting house. Maybe she will take pity on me and give me the ring. When I have the ring, I will change all the houses in the territory and make them all grand." This was a promise I kept hearing from her after Hope made the donation. She said we didn't need the money. What we needed was the ring to be brought back to its rightful owner. Her.

"Okay, Victoria. Be ready." I turned around and started dialing the number of that creepy man called The Butler.

"Aira, what is it you want?" I've talked with him so many times, but his voice still makes the hair on my arms stand up.

"The daughter of Adella has arrived ahead of schedule. She will be here in less than hour," I said.

"Are the she-rogues ready?" The Butler asked.

"Not all of them. Most of them are scheduled to get their third dose tonight. I can not give their doses ahead of schedule. It is fatal," I warned him.

"Then make do with what you have. The daughter of Adella is there now. Capture her and kill her and you will receive all the riches in the world," the creepy voice on the other end promised.

"I want a downpayment." Hope was able to give me a huge sum without even doing anything for her. If I had only known, I wouldn't have made an alliance with The Black Shadow Pack. They're the ones who got me in this mess with The Rogue Lord.

"I beg your pardon?" The creepy voice couldn't hide his shock.

"Either you give me a downpayment or I inject all the she-rogues with a fatal dose. There goes your army. Decide quickly. I have to meet the daughter of Adella in 30 minutes," I told him.

"Fine. I will wire you the money in a moment, however, if you fail, The Rogue Lord will kill you...himself." The creepy voice on the end laughed.

"I won't fail. They don't have an army with them and she has humans with her." I requested she bring her parents. I needed something to snack on when all of this was over.

"Very well then. I expect to hear the news of your success. Good day." The line goes dead.

I ran to my office. My Beta was already waiting there waiting for me orders. She was another she-wolf who had undergone enhancement. I opened my laptop and looked if the money was deposited into my account. It was there. Yes!

"Get all the she-rogues ready. The daughter of Adella is here," I ordered my Beta.

"We only have two hundred complete she-rogues, the other three hundred aren't finished with their serums. The one hundred eighty we sent out last week, only one hundred twenty returned and they went straight to the The Rogue Fortress. Can't you stall until tomorrow, Alpha?"

"Tomorrow will be the Hemming event so, I have a feeling they don't have plans to stay until tomorrow. Two hundred is enough to kill all of them. There will only be a handful of them anyway," I told my Beta. "I doubt Alexander Ulrich has brought an army. I made them believe we are a good pack. Make sure the rest of our pack is hidden."

"So be it." My Beta bowed and left to do my bidding. Well, it was time for me to welcome Hope.

I grabbed my car keys and ran to my car. I drove to the resort and when I got there, I saw Lucas sitting at the lobby. He didn't even smile at me to acknowledge my presence. What a dweeb. I went to the reception desk and asked them to send a message to Alexander Ulrich.

When they came into the lobby of the hotel, I saw her immediately. Her golden eyes. The daughter of Adella was here and she didn't even know she was about to die.

I had them tail me in their cars to the territory. Alexander only brought three other wolves as his entourage. This was going to be easier than I thought. As for Lucas, well, too bad for him. He's collateral damage.

I directed them towards the location of the old hag's house and I saw her reaction through her golden eyes. She knew something was amiss. When she said the name Cecilia, I smirked. She didn't even know her darling Aunt was just as bad a bitch as the old hag. They only wanted the ring. I saw her go inside and I heard the old hag demand she give her the ring.

Then the sky started to darken and the wind started to pick up. Lightning started to hit nearby trees. I mind linked my Beta to release the she-rogues. The she-rogues immediately circled the entourage, two of them shifting in their wolf form. My Beta was in the front targetting the big brown wolf and was about to pounce when we all heard an unknown growl. Suddenly, a bear and a gray wolf came barrelling down on the she-rogues at the end of the circle. The bear used his huge claws to scratch his way to the middle. While the bear made his way to the entourage of Alexander, many other wolves came running from the forest, one of them was Lucas. How could I have been so stupid to forget Lucas himself had an army.

I turned around and noticed Alexander trying to bring the humans to safety. I instantly blocked their path. The humans were mine.

"Where do you think you're going with my snack?" I showed them my fangs. If I will die at the hands of The Rogue Lord, then I will have a feast first. My last glorious meal.

I unexpectedly felt an invisible force grab me by the throat and lifted me in the air. I struggled with whatever was holding my throat, kicking my legs, trying to breathe. Then, like a disgusting used ragdoll, I was forcibly thrown away from the old hag's house. I hit a roof and fell inside. I tried to get up and I felt it. The pain! I winced. It hurt so bad. I looked down at myself. A piece of wood was lodged in my thigh and another through my arm.

I gazed up at the sky through the hole of the roof. I saw the lightning flicker one after the other and heard sizzling sounds all around. Then rain began to pour inside through the gaping hole of the roof. The big rain drops hit my face and I couldn't help myself...I started to cry. I closed my eyes and I silently prayed to the Moon Goddess to wash my sins with the rain.

______________

(Alexander POV)

I had to bring our parents to safety. My mother wasn't accustomed to fighting. She's a healer and her usual place is to wait at the back of the army to help the wounded. I moved in front of them and was about to walk them to the car when Aira appeared.

I was about to shift in wolf form when suddenly Aira was lifted in the air, with her legs kicking furiously. Then, she was thrown forcibly away towards their pack house where she landed and fell through the roof. I looked back at Hope. I noticed she had her two relatives struggling to get free of her hold. I nodded my gratitude at her. I then guided the three to the limousine. I peered at the other side of the limousine and saw Yuri and Alarick were already tearing the rogues apart while Mark and Grace were guarding the limousine in their wolf form. Oliver opened the door from the inside and gestured for Jim, Mirasol and my mother to climb in.

"Come on. We need to get all of you to safety." I assisted them into the limousine. "Stay inside. We will protect you," I assured the three of them before closing the door. Mirasol was crying on Jim's shoulder. She wasn't accustomed to the world of wolves.

I shifted into Echo and joined in on the carnage. Mark and Lucas were biting the she-rogues at the neck trying to snap it in the process. Might as well do the same. I pounced on a light brown and black wolf and bit her neck and twisted it. She collapsed on the ground. One down, more to go.

Then I caught her scent. Hope walked out of her grandmother's burning house with her head low. She looked up, scanning her surroundings and saw the violence around her. She raised her arms to the sky and when she brought her arms down, lightning began to strike the she-rogues. One by one, the lightning struck each remaining she-rogue until there was no rogue left standing.

The sky began to fall. I looked at her and saw her sobbing, all alone. The only family she had left didn't want her. I had a feeling her grandmother would reject her, I just didn't expect her aunt to reject her as well.

"I love her," Echo said.

"I love her too, Echo. Let's shift back and comfort her," I told my wolf.

I shifted back expecting to be naked, but when I looked down at myself, I found I had jeans and a shirt on. I glanced at Mark and saw he had clothes on too. He took something from the car and ran to me. "Let's help Luna Hope." He handed me a blanket and opened his hand to show me the ring.

We ran to her. "Hope, your spell works. We have clothes when we shift back," I said, hoping the good news would comfort her. I wrapped her in the blanket. She must be cold. "Here. This is yours." I took the ring from Mark and placed it on her finger.

Suddenly, the most spectacular light display happened before our eyes. Hope was lifted off from the ground, with different colors of light enveloping her like she was a star. Then the light exploded. The force from it so strong, we all fell to the ground. Even Yuri the bear, who was big as he was wide, surprisingly was knocked over as well.

The light then returned to its source and she floated back to the ground. The rain I noticed,  was still pouring down on us, but not touching her. Then the rain suddenly stopped and the sun peeked through the clouds, shining directly on her.

I could not believe my eyes. All her hair was now colored white and her golden eyes glowed. White light outlined her body. She was no longer wearing her business suit, instead she was wearing a yellow flowing gown.

I blinked my eyes and glanced at Mark who was gaping at her too.

She looked like a star.
