Chapter 92 Stronger
(Hope POV)
Mental note, when this is all over, I'm buying colored contact lenses. This fascination with the color of my eyes has got to stop.
While the Butler and The Rogue Lord were distracted by The Being, I had Maria drink the blue antidote. She needed her magic to keep her disguise.
The light from the planetary alignment created a strong force to break the black stone. To protect us from getting hurt, I created a protection bubble. Jacques, on the other hand, slowed down time so we could avoid the flying shards of the black stone, but Leia decided to direct the shards into the guards' eyes, blinding them in the process. Outside, the lightning storm was over and Alexander had mind linked me that our army was outside the doors of the fortress waiting for our signal. So far, so good.
After The Being said I was a far better vessel than The Rogue Lord, The Butler rushed towards us and grabbed Maria, who was disguised as me, and dragged her towards The Rogue Lord
"She is not a child of Aura." The Being said.
"That is not possible. She has golden eyes." The Butler grabs Maria's face to show The Being her golden eyes. They were contact lenses we picked up at the village. Maria had once disguised herself as my mother before, but she was not able to replicate her eyes. 40 years ago, colored contact lenses may have been hard to come by, but because of cosplay, you can find any color to suit a disguise...including my golden eyes.
"It is merely a disguise. The child of Aura is here. I can sense it. She is invisible." He waves his hand and Maria's disguise vanishes showing her true self. She then floats into the air.
Maria was struggling to breathe!
"We need to save Maria. He's going to kill her." I mind link with everyone.
I shift to Opal and pounce on The Butler whose attention was diverted to Maria. I pull out a chuck of his neck with my silver fangs, dripping silver all over his face. He gurgles out green ooze, the silver burning his flesh. I shift back to my human form and stick a silver dagger in his heart and twist it.
The Being, seeing the Butler on the floor, releases his hold of Maria and she falls unto the black floor, coughing. The door of the fortress suddenly opens and in comes hundreds of tiny hamsters with something strapped on their backs.
Maximus throws what seemed to be peanuts towards The Being. The hamsters scamper towards The Being grabbing the peanuts and chewing.
"What is this? Rodents? You use rodents to kill me?"
"Not to kill. To hurt you." Maximus pulls out a remote from his pocket and pushes the button. Tiny darts start flying towards The Being. He screamed when some of the darts hit him. The tiny darts were made of silver.
He waves his hand and Maximus flies across the Great Hall, hitting a pillar and falls to the ground, unconscious, morphing into Arthur. Leia rushes to his side. "He's hurt, Hope." She mind links me.
I run towards them to help Arthur, but a force drags me across the shiny black floor towards the throne, my sneakers squeaking as I moved. "I can not see you, but I feel your power." The Being said.
I waved my hand and the tiny darts of silver from the hamsters scattered on the floor flies in the air and towards The Being's face. He lets go of his hold on me and howls in pain as the silver burns through his skin.
"Jacques, be ready to shift into Fang. We need to end this."
I see Alexander, Lucas and Derrick enter the Great Hall to kill off the remaining guards. "Alexander, be careful. The Being is merged with The Rogue Lord. And Arthur is hurt."
"He's ok now Hope. I had him drink the healing elixir." Leia mind links me. I give a sigh of relief. I glance at where Arthur and Leia were and saw Arthur starting to get up.
The Being stopped howling in pain. I saw the silver had burned his eyes when he lifted his head from his hands. The Rogue Lord was highly susceptible to silver and the Being could feel the pain brought by it.
I saw The Great Shadow exit the Butler's lifeless body. Whatever the silver did on the Butler's body, a white light was doing the same on The Great Shadow's black cloud form. The snake heads were disappearing being eaten by a bright light.
"Sire, I am weak. I need you to heal me." The Great Shadow whispers.
"You were a means to an end. I do not need you any longer. Be gone!" The Being emits a bolt of red light from his hands and the Great Shadow bursts into puffs of smoke.
"I do not need eyes to sense you, Child of Aura. Let's play a game. What will it take for you to show yourself?" He stands and raises his hands. Outside, the wolves start to whimper. Flashes of lightning surround the compound showing a tornado heading towards us.
I wave my hand to remove my invisibility spell. He wants me then, he'll have me.
I walk outside and raise my hands to dispel the tornado. "I, daughter of Lupa, bend thee to my will." My locket glows and the tornado vanishes into the sky above. The clouds move slowly, a clear night sky appearing in their midst.
The Being jumps over me and lands on the ground with a resonating thud. He grabs my neck raising me from the ground to meet his face. The long claws of his fingers pricked my skin, digging into my back everytime I squirmed. Red lights glowed where the The Rogue Lord's eyes used to be. His face was so near to mine, I could feel the warmth of his stinking, putrid breath. The Rogue Lord probably refrained from taking a bath and brushing his teeth.
"Gosh, you stink." I told The Being trying to distract him. "You need to brush your teeth." His hand tightened around my neck and I was starting to have a hard time speaking.
"This vessel is just a means to an end. Once the Harvest Shines upon us, I will enter you." He explains.
"Let go of my throat. I can hardly breathe. If you kill me, you will no longer have a vessel." I told The Being.
"You are not scared. This is a trait of those with the golden eyes. Soon, you and I will merge and no one on this planet will stop me." He chuckles with some of his saliva hitting my face. Gross. "Fang, be ready with that spear. I need you to pierce his heart." I mind link him.
"I will not disappoint you, Hope." I hear the deep voice of Fang in my mind. I raise my eyes to look into the red glowing eyes of The Being.
"My eyes is not what makes me strong. It is my wolf." I shift to Opal and bite into his face, ripping out his nose. He screams and lets go of me and I fall to the ground on all fours. I bite his leg and he stumbles. Echo suddenly leaps on him and he falls back first to the ground. I pounce on him and bite his neck, taking out a chunk of flesh. I looked down at his neck. I saw one of my silver fangs lodged in his throat, his flesh sizzling and burning around it.
"Fang, now!" I tell Fang to strike The Rogue Lord with spear and pierce his heart.
Let this be over, Moon Goddess. I need to go to school.
________
(Alexander POV)
The Rogue Lord started sprinting towards Hope who was outside trying to stop the tornado. He charged into us, throwing the three of us unto the floor. Once he past the door of the fortress, he jumped over Hope and landed in front of her, grabbing her throat.
That thing had Hope by the throat!
I stand up and try to rush outside, but Derrick and Lucas took hold of me and stopped me.
"Let me go. I need to save my mate." I told them.
"He won't kill her, Alexander. He needs her." Leia tried to put me at ease.
"I don't care. Let me go! I need to get to Hope. Derrick, let me go!" I pull my arm from his grasp and run towards Hope who was still in the air. I could see the back of her white blouse was starting to stain with blood.
She suddenly shifted into Opal and bit The Rogue Lord in the face. He let her go. I shifted and ran outside to her to make sure I was there if she needed assistance.
I saw her bite his leg so I pounced on top of him to make him fall on his back.
The Harvest Moon started to shine so brightly on us. I could see Hope had ripped out a part of The Rogue Lord's throat. Then, she backed away and shifted back to human form.
Fang came out of the shadows, leaping on top of The Rogue Lord with a silver spear with a yellow tip. He thrusts the silver spear into the chest of The Rogue Lord.
"Thank...you..." The Rogue Lord whispers, black ooze dripping from his mouth. " You.. have.. released... me ..from...my curse." He was choking from his own blood.
The moon pulsates its light on him and he morphs into a man with sandy brown hair.
"Julia, my love...I'm coming." The man looks up at the moon, a tear flows from his eye as utters those words. He coughs one last time and he stops moving. The Rogue Lord is finally dead!
Fang and I shifted back to our human forms, relieved that finally it was all over.
"Jacques, it's time to celebrate. The Rogue Lord is dead." I pat him hard on the back and he grins at me, liking how I was congratulating him.
"Now this is much better." I hear a deep voice from behind me. The hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I hear Leia and Maria scream. Fang and I look at each other, the fear mirrored in our eyes, and turn around to confront the source of the voice.
Hope was flying in the air. An evil grin in her face.
Gone were her golden eyes. They were now red!
