Chapter 15 The Insignificant Person

Trista was not worried at all that her lies would be exposed.
Her identity as Aletta was not widely known.
Initially, Trista didn't mind revealing her identity, but when she thought Matthew sought medical treatment for Myra, Trista didn't want to say it.
"So that's it."
After listening to Trista's explanation, Benson nodded with a sudden understanding.
"Mr. Porter, you don't mind, right? If so, I will let Miss West come and talk to you later."
Benson smiled warmly at Trista's questioning gaze and said, "Of course, I don't mind.
"Zelin Company's perfume formula is now the most popular thing in the world. It's almost the same as talking with anyone. But I think it's best to settle it quickly."
Immediately Benson said, "Miss Bryant, please follow me."
Trista nodded and quickly followed Benson.
Matthew's gaze followed Trista all the time. There was a chill in his eyes. He felt a displeasure for which he could not explain himself.
That woman didn't even look at Matthew from the beginning to the end!
"Matthew..."
When Myra saw Matthew still gazing in the direction Trista was leaving, she couldn't help feeling a little worried.
Matthew seemed to have never heard of Myra's words.
Trista followed Benson to the office upstairs in the hotel. It was relatively quiet here and very suitable for talking about matters.
After sitting down on the sofa, Trista subconsciously looked at this streamlined office and heard Benson say, "This business is actually simple. Porter Group hopes to buy Zelin Company's perfume formula."
"Sorry, Mr. Porter. This proposal is not acceptable."
Trista heard the sound and came back to her senses. Her attitude also acquired the rigor and seriousness of her work.
"About this collaboration, Aletta means that we can provide some formulas to improve the quality of your perfume, but our formulas are not for sale."
For a company, the perfume formula was the lifeblood and the result of the hard work of the research and development group.
It was impossible to sell!
It was a great sincerity to be willing to help Porter Group improve.
The smile on Benson's face faded a lot. Obviously, he was dissatisfied with the result.
However, Benson also knew that buying Zelin Company's formulas was difficult.
He would also not agree to such a deal if they had switched sides.
It was also good to get some formula improvements now. At least in this country, Porter Group could firmly rank first.
This was one step closer to the international market.
"Okay, we follow Aletta's idea. But I have a request, the perfume formula..."
With the cooperation of Benson, the two sides talked for an hour and finalized the specific matters of cooperation.
As a result, both parties were satisfied.
Trista was relieved to have her job done for the night.
"So that's what we've decided. Then Porter Group will come to Zelin Company to sign the contract."
Trista nodded. "Well, I wish us a happy cooperation."
She stood up and said to Benson, "Since we are done here, Mr. Porter, I will take my leave first."
Benson probably knew that she didn't want to stay, so he nodded in agreement and said, "Then I'll have someone take you home, Miss Bryant."
"No, thank you. Someone is coming to pick me up."
Trista politely declined his offer and left the office.
The banquet downstairs was reaching its climax. When Trista came down, no one noticed her.
She didn't want to attract attention herself, so she left directly.
In the banquet hall, Matthew was holding a wine glass, shaking it uninterestedly, chatting with the acquaintance beside him absently, but his eyes were always focused on a certain place.
He saw Trista come down, and his calmness was suddenly replaced by excitement.
But before he could explore his thoughts, the figure in his sight left towards the door again.
Matthew immediately put down his wine glass, excused himself from the surrounding people, and stepped out after the figure.
After Trista exited the banquet hall, she called Anne and asked Anne to pick her up. And then Trista took the elevator downstairs.
The moment the elevator door closed, it was pushed open.
Trista was looking down at her phone, and when she raised her eyes inadvertently, she saw a man walking in slowly with long legs.
She was stunned for a moment. Her whole body tensed up suddenly. She breathed less, and a feeling of discomfort spread through her.
Matthew... Why was Matthew here?
"He is not here for me, is he?" Trista thought.
Thinking of Matthew having acted like he didn't know Trista in the banquet hall just now, Matthew felt that if he wanted to deny their relationship, there was no need for her to be affectionate and say hello to him.
Feeling calmer, Trista lowered her head, pretending to continue looking at her phone.
It just happened that the two children at home sent a message: [Mommy, are you going home?]
Although it was just a message, in Trista's heart, the obedient and sensible appearance of the two cute kids suddenly appeared, and she was much happier.
She flicked her fingers across the screen to reply.
[I am going home soon. You and Eudora have to be good.]
After replying to the message, the elevator reached the first floor.
Trista was about to walk out, but Matthew moved a step faster than her.
Trista wanted to let him go first.
Unexpectedly, Matthew stopped at the elevator entrance, not intending to leave.
What did he mean by this?
Trista's breathing stagnated again, and she stood still without moving.
Time passed quickly. Seeing the elevator door was about to close, and the man still had no intention of going out, Trista couldn't bear it anymore.
She raised her head, looked at Matthew's back, and said, "If you don't go out, can you let me go?"
Hearing the sound, Matthew slowly turned to look at her. His clam eyes contained coldness, and his aura was terrifying.
He stared at Trista closely.
Trista looked away in fear.
Matthew smiled slightly. And his tone was sarcastic. "Are you talking to me?"
Trista was a little helpless. "Is it just you and me here?"
Who else would she be talking to if she wasn't talking to him?
"Oh."
Matthew replied lightly, "I thought you were blind and couldn't see me."
Trista didn't realize the meaning in his words for a while.
When she came back to her senses, she was stunned.
Was he blaming her for not saying hello to him?
This was funny.
Wasn't he the one who didn't want to have anything to do with Trista at first?
Thinking of what Matthew said in the banquet hall, Trista felt confident.
"I'm not blind."
She raised her head and fearlessly met Matthew's menacing gaze. "But I just didn't notice the insignificant person."
As soon as these words came out, Trista clearly felt that the temperature in the elevator had dropped.
"So I'm an insignificant person."
