Chapter 21 Escape
Hearing this, Matthew couldn't help but stop and follow Colby's gaze.
The two figures were immediately recognized.
Matthew frowned, walked towards the two little ones, and shouted, "Moody, Ruby, why are you here? Didn't I ask you to practice calligraphy at home? Did you sneak out again?"
Matthew looked a little displeased.
Moody was lowering his head, earnestly helping Ruby look for her bracelet. When Moody suddenly heard this familiar voice, his shoulders trembled violently in fright, and his hair almost stood on end.
Moody turned his head, and when meeting the gaze of Matthew, a chill ran through Moody's heart.
Why was Daddy here?
Moody believed he was doomed... He was doomed!
Boris and Eudora were still at home!
What should they do if they were discovered?
Moody was anxious in his heart, and he stammered, "Da-Daddy..."
Standing behind Moody, Ruby was both scared and anxious.
Matthew stared at the flustered two kids and asked coldly, "Be honest, who brought you here? Or did you run away from home again?"
Moody hesitated for a long time, but he couldn't tell the reason.
After all, he couldn't say that he came with Trista...
For a while, the surroundings became quiet.
Matthew's patience was fading. Seeing that his son couldn't answer, he couldn't help but lower his eyes and said solemnly, "So, you ran away from home? I don't think I have done anything to upset you today. You'd better give me an explanation."
Seeing Matthew on the verge of getting angry, Colby, who was on the side, quickly persuaded Moody, "Young Master, please answer the question quickly."
Under heavy pressure, Moody suddenly had an idea. "We, we missed Great-grandfather, and we are here to visit him."
Moody remembered that Great-grandfather fell ill a few days ago and went to the hospital.
Moody hoped that by saying this, Matthew would believe it and let them go!
Matthew's attitude didn't change, and he still said in a cold voice, "If you want to visit him, you can ask the bodyguards to bring you here. Why did you go out without permission? Don't you know how dangerous it is outside?"
A few years ago, Ruby was kidnapped, and Matthew had always been haunted by this incident.
Matthew couldn't imagine what the consequences would be if something bad happened to his two children!
Thinking of that, Matthew's anger couldn't help rising, and he said coldly, "As an older brother, shouldn't you think about the safety of yourself and your little sister? Maybe I spoil you so much that you don't feel the need to tell me when you go out!"
Seeing that Matthew was about to get angry, Ruby quickly took out her small notebook and started writing.
The little girl's eyes were actually red with fright.
But she still held on, holding up the small notebook and handing it to her daddy.
[I asked Moody to take me out. Don't blame him.]
Immediately afterward, Ruby leaned closer and hugged Matthew's leg to act coquettishly, hoping that Matthew would not be angry.
Matthew's anger remained undiminished after reading her sentences, but Ruby's intimate attitude made him freeze slightly.
Ruby took his hand and shook it a few times, and her pitiful eyes flickered, soft and cute.
No matter how hard-hearted Matthew was, he couldn't resist such a cute look of his own daughter.
In an instant, his anger disappeared inexplicably. And finally, he snorted coldly and said, "Now you're afraid I'm going to be angry? If it happens again, I will definitely teach you a lesson."
With that said, Matthew picked up Ruby, looked at Moody, and said, "Let's go."
Moody nodded and followed obediently. He looked normal, but in fact, he was very anxious.
If they left like this, Trista would definitely be worried!
Moreover, if they followed Matthew back like this, Boris and Eudora would be exposed!
Thinking of this, Moody was so anxious that he could only wink at his sister desperately.
He had to find an opportunity to inform Boris!
Seeing the look in her brother's eyes, Ruby immediately understood and nodded her head slightly.
Matthew was originally going to the company after leaving the hospital, but now that he had met the two kids, surely he needed to send them home first.
As they got into the car, and Matthew was about to put Ruby on the child seat, Ruby handed over the small notebook that read: [Daddy, hug me.]
Then, without giving Matthew a chance to refuse, Ruby climbed directly onto his lap.
And her two small hands grabbed Matthew's clothes.
Matthew couldn't help but find it funny. He pinched Ruby's little nose and said, "Now you're afraid I'll punish you? Trying to act coquettishly to appease me?"
However, it did feel good that Ruby was willing to be close to him like this.
Ruby caught a glimpse of Moody, and she immediately continued writing in her notebook.
[Daddy is the most handsome, but you don't look good when you're angry...]
[So don't be angry, Daddy. Always be so handsome. I likes Daddy the most.]
Matthew looked at lines of small words, and his thin lips couldn't help but curl up slightly. "You're so sweet."
Moody hid aside and took the time when Ruby was coaxing Matthew to frantically send messages to Boris.
Fortunately, they had exchanged contact information in case of a situation like today's.
Seeing that Ruby could hardly buy any more time, Moody quickly put away his phone after sending a bunch of messages.
...
In the Vanny Villa.
At the moment, Eudora was practicing writing under the supervision of the teacher, Wade Hicks.
Not long after Matthew left in the morning, Wade came and assigned tasks to them.
The course was supposed to last only two hours, but it ended up running longer than planned because Eudora had no idea how to write, and her handwriting was like worms, hard to recognize.
Wade was shocked on the spot, holding Eudora's copybook, and he did not speak for a long time.
He just took a leave of absence. How did the little girl's handwriting become like this? Wade couldn't figure out why.
Wade didn't dare to neglect her and immediately asked the little girl to practice more.
Eudora had always been lively and restless. While sitting here in a well-behaved manner now, she felt like she was going crazy.
Eudora wailed inwardly.
Coming to live here with Daddy was simply torture!
She really couldn't stand it any longer... She was so tired of writing!
Thinking of this, Eudora pursed her lips and sent a distress signal to her brother with teary eyes.
Boris, who had finished his writing a long time ago, was sitting on the side watching his poor sister and was trying to find a way.
Suddenly there was a vibration in his pocket. Boris took out his phone, seeing the messages from Moody, and he was instantly frightened out of his wits.
How did Daddy meet Moody and Ruby?
Boris got up quickly, walked to Wade, and persuaded, "Mr. Hicks, let Ruby take a rest. She might be in a bad state today.
"Even if you force her to write, she can't write well in her state. Why don't you let me talk to her? Maybe then she will be back to normal."
Wade was a little hesitant, but he felt that Boris' words made some sense. Wade saw the little girl's resistance, and it was obvious that she couldn't continue writing.
It was not good to learn writing like this.
So Wade nodded and said, "Okay, then go and have a rest."
Boris quickly thanked Wade, then dragged Eudora, hurried back to the room, and turned on the computer. His movements were done in one go.
As soon as Eudora left the table, she immediately regained her energy and asked, "Boris, what are you doing?"
"Hacking the surveillance system of this villa to escape."
Boris hurriedly answered and then told Eudora about Moody and Ruby bumping into Matthew.
