Chapter 18 Why He Is Here?
The two of them were stunned in Matthew's arms. Obviously, they didn't expect that Matthew was not as annoying as they had imagined!
Although the feeling was not different from when they were in their mother's arms, it still made them feel heartwarming.
The two of them thought that every time their mother kissed them good night, they would reciprocate by kissing her back!
So after hesitating for a moment, they reluctantly leaned forward and quickly rubbed Matthew's cheek, then said indifferently, "Good night."
Matthew was stunned.
Because Moody usually wouldn't kiss him, but now he kissed him.
After Moody and Boris went upstairs, Matthew was still lost in thought and stared straight at the closed door upstairs.
Colby was also surprised and then said with a smile, "Mr. Myers, it seems that it's not a bad thing for you to be injured. Young Master is willing to get close to you."
Matthew took a deep breath and nodded in agreement. He was in a good mood.
But when Matthew looked at the bandage on his hand, his expression became cold again.
Matthew remembered the woman's determination tonight. Although the woman said they had no relationship at all, the past events were still vivid in his mind.
Matthew's eyes grew colder, his face became gloomy, and his injured hand balled into a fist, squeezing tightly.
Matthew thought, 'Trista, how could I let you go so easily?
I would let you pay for what you had done to me.'
The next morning, the sunlight came in through the window and sprinkled on the dining table.
Matthew watched as the two children finished their breakfast. He straightened his tie and prepared to leave.
Before leaving, Matthew thought of something. He turned around and said, "Wade will teach you how to write later. Be good."
Boris and Eudora had heard about this from Moody before, so they nodded to indicate that they knew.
Meanwhile, at Maple Villa.
Trista was having breakfast with Moody and Ruby.
During the meal, Trista suddenly said, "Baby, I will be relatively busy in the future and may not have time to take care of you, so I found a kindergarten where you can have fun in there. How does that sound?"
Trista was afraid that the two children would not agree, so she coaxed them in a soft voice. "Don't worry, there are many other children in the kindergarten. They can play with you."
Moody thought, "The kids at the kindergarten are particularly childish, and there's nothing fun to do there.
Besides, Boris and Eudora's intelligence seemed to be high enough that they didn't need to attend kindergarten."
Moody didn't want to go to the kindergarten with Ruby.
However, Moody also didn't want to disobey Trista.
He pondered for a moment and cautiously said, "We can go, but she can't talk right now..."
He glanced at Ruby and added, "The other children would definitely find it strange. Maybe we should wait a little longer?"
Trista thought about it and agreed.
Trista worried that If Eudora wasn't happy at the kindergarten, it could backfire.
Trista looked at the two little kids and said, "Yes, you are right. I will go to the company in the morning first and take Eudora to the hospital for a check-up in the afternoon, and visit Nelly's mother while we're at it."
"Okay, Mom."
Moody had no objection.
Moody knew very well that Eudora couldn't speak due to psychological issues, not physical problems.
And a mere examination wouldn't reveal anything, so Moody thought that he didn't need to worry about their secret would be exposed!
Moody immediately added. "I'll take good care of sister and wait for you at home."
"Boris, you are so sensible."
Trista smiled gently, rubbed Moody's little head, and kissed two of them before leaving.
"Listen to Moira while I'm gone."
"Okay! Goodbye, Mom!"
As soon as the door closed, Moody and Eudora looked at each other and their eyes were full of excitement.
They were so excited that Trista kissed them again!
After Trista arrived at the company, she went to have an early meeting. It was already 10 o'clock in the morning when it was over.
As soon as Trista came out of the conference room, Anne came to report, "Someone from the Porter Group has arrived to discuss contract matters."
Trista was stunned. "So soon?"
Anne noticed Trista's strange expression and asked, "What's wrong? Isn't it good to be quick?"
"Ahem, it's not..."
Trista laughed awkwardly and told the truth. "There was an accident at the dinner party yesterday, which led me to deceive the Porter Group and claim that I was not Aletta. So, I may need you to go and pretend to be Aletta. Remember, don't blow our cover!"
Anne was already familiar with this kind of situation.
It was not the first time that Trista had done this.
When Trista was abroad, she was so busy that she couldn't get rid of it. She would also find someone to replace her.
Anne said with a smile, "I thought that I could get rid of this situation after we returned..."
Trista patted her shoulder and said, "This is how you become famous. From now on, you are Aletta whenever we go out."
"Fame means nothing to me. It's your ability that I want," Anne joked.
Trista also joined in laughing. "Well, taking my ability away will be difficult..."
"Conceited."
Anne glared at Trista and said, "I'm not going to talk to you anymore. I can't let the client wait too long."
After that, Anne left quickly!
Trista returned to her office.
Not long after, the internal phone on the table rang.
"Miss Bryant, there's a client who wants to see Miss West."
The receptionist reported.
Trista assumed it was just another business client and replied, "Take them to Miss West's office, I'll be there soon."
After hanging up the phone, Trista stood up, smoothed out the wrinkles on her sleeves, and went to Nelly's office.
Unexpectedly, when Trista pushed the door, she saw Matthew's cold and handsome face!
Trista was stunned.
She couldn't believe her eyes.
She quickly closed the door.
When Trista opened the door again, Matthew was still there!
Trista almost couldn't maintain her expression.
She had no idea why Matthew would be here.
Now that Matthew was already here, Trista couldn't just turn around and leave. She had to pretend to be calm and walked into the room.
Then, standing in front of Matthew, Trista said in a calm voice, "Mr. Myers, welcome to our company. May I ask why you are here today? If I remember correctly, our company hasn't had any business dealings with the Myers Group."
Matthew was surprised when he saw Trista here.
But when Matthew saw Trista open the door and close it again and again, his face darkened.
Matthew was confused and angry about Trista's reaction when she met him.
Matthew looked Trista up and down with a cold face.
Trista was dressed in a well-tailored professional outfit, which showed off her exquisite figure. Compared with her well-dressed appearance yesterday, she looked more capable and mature now.
Matthew stared at her for a moment, and then he sneered and asked, "I've come to see Nelly. Are you her boss or something?"
Trista knew that Matthew asked it on purpose, so she answered, "No, I am not."
"In that case, why are you speaking?"
Matthew's tone was as cold as ice.
Trista bit her lip, hiding her displeasure, and calmly replied, "Indeed, I am not. But if you want to see Miss West, you won't be able to meet her."
Matthew frowned, and then he heard Trista say, "Miss West's mother is ill. She has been in the hospital these days and hasn't come to the company.
"Miss West left all her work here, and it's all taken care of by other people."
Matthew said impatiently, "Then ask Aletta to come. She is one of the company's executives, right?"
"The Myers Group has some cooperation and wants to talk to her."
